The Devil's Wife (1x1 For Near)Replies: 78 / 321 days 11 hours 9 minutes 53 seconds
By day, he is the most handsome young man in all of the small village. But by night, he is cursed to have the most hideous, gruesome face, and destined to be the "monster" of the village.
By day, he is a respectable young man, engaged to marry a beautiful and pure girl. The night before the wedding, the night of the wedding feasts of the village, his cursed face is revealed to all.
The villagers begin to hunt him down, swearing to kill the monster that has plagued them for so long. In shame, he kidnaps his love, and runs away with her deep into the forest, where he shall force her to love him again.
At least...that was the plan, until they ran into the Gypsies.
Mystified at the curse over him, the Gypsies capture the two of them, and create a circus show titled "The Devil's Wife", putting the two of them on display, and will beat the girl whenever "The devil" does not cooperate.
Becoming enraged and violent, to protect his love, what will he stop at to save them? And, what will he do to win her love, even though he is a monster?
Violence and language is a must.
Generally no GM...though it is understandable sometimes.
LITERATE!!! At least 1,000 characters minimum.
Real picture- handsome or monster-like, which ever works.
Post at least once a day.

[I think so. And I thought I could give away some more of his childhood. Drawing some inspiration from Phantom of the Opera. And did you make a picture for your profile of two other people and me?]
Victor got hit by the fake prop. His monstrous eyes gleamed with anger. "What a spoiled princess you are. Do you think any person would want this curse or that my parents would want be to be cursed as such? . When they saw the curse take hold of me at night in the cradle, they ran away from me in fear. They thought about killing me. All the other servants had no idea what was placed on me. Only a maid that found about the curse and saw me transformed took pity on me, pleading that I should not be killed and that she would take care me so that they did not have to face me. " His voice began to fill with anger. Even if the audience did not know, some of this was coming from his life. "The maid was afraid of me but could see my suffering. She took all the abuse when I threw tantrums because of how I looked. I envied my older brother that he could go out and see the world and our parents loved him so much. I would never hurt my own flesh and blood over jealousy. How would you feel right now if I did not believe any of your words because of how you looked?"
Victor roughly grabbed Lianna and made her face him directly. Even though he was to be angry, looking at Lianna, there was sadness. The sadness of a man who could not accept himself. A man that hated himself for even being born into this cruel world. I am sorry Lianna. Your sweet tender love is something I should not have. A beast like me is something from hell and you from heaven as an angel. No one loved this gruesome beast and yet you do not shy away from my gaze. Can I truly be loved by someone? His monster side thought in their mind. I do not know if she does or does not. But maybe she understands why your nature is the way it is. We have only experienced cruelty and lost the one person who had shown some type of kindness. The gypsies made sure to make her suffer so that we would break. I think she would be sad to see how we had turned out. Elizabeth tried so hard for us to be good. All those efforts were shattered by this gypsies.
On the stage, Victor threw Lianna down to the hard wood. "Speak now princess. Let me hear your answer to my question." He said in a vile voice. The faint memories of Elizabeth always being there for him flooded his mind. Victor had to hold back his tears while facing Lianna. Elizabeth may have been deathly afraid of him but she always showed kindness to him to the every end. Even after his parents killed themselves in front of him and when the gypsies came for him. She had a smile of her face saying that she cared for him as they made her suffer the worst. There was never no hate in her smile when she died.
<So if I remember correctly: Lianna's been selling her body/letting them abuse her so she could find out how to escape and what the word was that triggered the curse, and how to break it. She's in love with both sides of Victor. Victor's monster side is beginning to fall in love with her, but she doesn't know it yet.>
Lianna was lucky that her character had been crying...because at Victor's story, it made her weep even more. Sure, she knew the details were fake...but the curse....his feelings...they are all still very true to the real Victor.
Lianna wanted to comfort him...accept him...but she couldn't. She was supposed to be in character...in this sick and vile story. So instead, she turned her head away, still sobbing, and threw another prop in his direction.
"Yes! For you must have done something so vile and awful to receive such a curse! Once more, I do not believe your story! Monsters lie, and you are the most foul of monsters I have ever laid my eyes upon! Now leave before I call for the guards who shall kill you...you beast!!"
Lianna threw another prop, making sure it hit him this time. She knew the idea of the story was for him to become angry...so she made her words as spiteful as possible...as much venom in them as she could manage...and did whatever she could to make him angry.
She knew that they wanted Victor to attack her...and she knew that he would. For only Victor's human side loved her...this side was still indifferent to her. This side didn't care that she sold her body to the gypsies in return for information. This side didn't care about all the scars that now marred her once perfect skin.
And yet...Lianna loved this side of Victor as much as she loved his other side. She loved him...all of him. And this made the girl sob more, curling herself up in the middle of the stage.
Victor walked backwards from Lianna. His solemn expression was visible to everyone. The audience was enjoying this sick plot. A fairytale that was suppose to be sweet and innocent like was stepped on and replaced with blastemby. he knew that Lianna was sorry for how she had to act towards him. If she did not, then the consequences would be horrible.
Victor turned his face towards the audience, being told he had to so that they could see his horrible face. The gasps of new people were heard. He sunk to his knees. "I am sorry my princess. I am the younger brother of the prince who you were waiting for. He died in his pursuit to find you. I did nothing to him. He was my older brother who loved me despite this curse on me. By day I am a man but at night I am a monstrous creature to punish my parents for their wrong doing to a witch. They burned her despite her practicing good magic. As she was burning at the stake she screamed out the curse." Victor said to Lianna.
The audience sat with silence. Some believed that this was elaborate make-up on Victor. Those were the naive ones. But those that knew what Gypsies would do, knew that Victor was wearing no make-up and this was face. "Are you going to judge me princess just by my face? Do you think I wanted to be born like this? To have to hide at night and loath my own reflection?" He asked Lianna.
Lianna felt a sick feeling in her stomach as she heard the narrator speak. This was a rather sick plot...surely one that would not end well. Internally, she cringed, wondering what Victor was instructed to do.
At last she felt Victor lift her up, and place a gentle kiss upon her lips. Despite the situation, she found herself blushing...the rose red color tinting her delicate skin. The girl then made a show of pretending to awaken. She did not open her eyes yet.
"Ah my Prince! You've come for me at last! I have been awaiting you. For only true love's kiss could awaken me. I am in your debt, dear Prince, and I pledge my life to you as a token of my gratitude."
Finally Lianna opened her eyes. She stared at Victor, and silently apologized with her eyes. Quickly she screamed, and pushed away from him, falling to the stage. The fall hurt, but she didn't have time to focus upon that.
She screamed and backed away, far away from Victor. "W-who are you?!!? What have you done with the Prince?! Have you killed him!? You foul Monster!!"
Lianna began to weep, though it was her character doing so.
"Go away! Leave me alone!!" She picked up a prop and threw it half heartedly at Victor.
I'm so sorry love...
Victor stood backstage. His eyes were void of his presence. The phrase had him bounded and thinking of what they told him. Inside he was fighting against what he was told. The audience was quiet as they wait for what would happen next. No one had seen what the show but rumors were flying around. They whispered among themselves as the suspense was killing them. They could see Lianna waiting on the ground laying still. The Gypsies had a sick mind. They wanted to do a sleeping beauty thing except with the "prince" being Victor's monstrous form. Sweet music began to play.
A voice began to speak. There laid the princess waiting for her prince to kiss her and wake her up from her deep slumber. However the prince was killed in the pursuit to get to her. A second prince that was cursed to be a monster at night went to take his older brother's place. The younger brother began and was able to get to the princess. He came upon where she slept.... Victor moved forward and the crowd gasped while others screamed looking upon Victor. These reactions were not new for Victor. He lumbered to where Lianna was laying on the stage.Slowly picking her up, he kissed her. He waited for Lianna to "wake" up so that they could continue with this sick twisted story.
That night, Lianna was laying down on the stage. She had been very clear in her instructions for tonight's performance- and that was "Fight and succumb." It had confused her, for she was told nothing else. Not what type of character she would be playing, nor the scene either.
She lay in the center of the stage, all the audience upon her. She wore a softly worn white dress (which tactfully hid the burns and scars...) and her hair was long and loose around her. All she was told is that she was to pretend to sleep. That is, until Victor arrived...
<Reeeeeeeeeeaaallly short. Sorry! Couldn't think of anything else...>
Victor did not like how Lianna replied to him. It made him feel unsettled. He knew that she and him were going to escape. But he did not see how it could be done. There is some doubt in my mind that we will be able to do this. I mean, I would think that they would be watching us closely to make sure we would not escape. I feel like something is off... Victor did not really know how to reply to Lianna. "Okay. I will be here thinking about some things."
The questions gnawed at his mind. He wanted to know how they could pull off escape, if he would be able to control himself around Lianna, what secret Lianna may be hiding from him, and would their lives together ever be normal? All this time his view on everyone was wrong with his other side. He figured that he could not really give what Lianna really wanted. I am not sure if I want to have children with Lianna. Since the curse travels within my family, I do not want to make one of my children suffer as I have. He clenched his fists into balls.
The head man Gypsy who was named Jon sat in his tent, smoking. Three beautiful women surrounded him. They were his wives. They quietly at there with their heads down. The men could do whatever what they wanted to their wives. Women once married become property in this tribe. Other tribes were different, this one was more cruel. Jon looked around. (r I think I want to have some more violence on stage for the story's. They are too lovable in my opinion. I think if we have bit of violence before any love would make the audience go even more wild." His wives nodded their heads.
Lianna felt her teeth clench together and her chagrin flare up before Victor had even finished speaking. Quickly, she calmed her exterior down, and left her seething. (i. I loved you with all that I am...I dedicated my life to you for our entire lives... And yet your other side still turned out the way he did. Was my love not good enough...Not strong enough...?...Oh Victor...you cannot even comprehend what I've done for you here...and what I'm going to do...then you'll see how strong my love is........even if it is long after I'm gone.)
Lianna inwardly grimaced at his question. She had the idea that he couldn't remember the conversations that she had with his other side, but now it seemed to be confirmed. They hadn't discussed what she should say if this side of Victor asked questions.....
Lianna stiffly nodded her head, and her shoulders shrugged a little. "There are...some things I need to take care of first... some things that need to be done. Afterwards...well...as for the logistics of physically escaping...I'm leaving that up to you-..er.....your other side." she murmured softly, her eyes quickly flicking to his face, and then away.
Victor noticed something odd in how Lianna was acting. She was being defensive about covering herself. Maybe it is because she cannot bear to think that my other side took away her virginity. She might hate me for it. I cannot tell but I do not want to ask her if that is true. It would kill me to know she hates me for it. He looked down a little. "It is a shame that a girl her age has to go through that with no one there to help her or hold her to make her feel better. From what I can tell, she is considered to be at the lowest rank. Even though she is still a virgin for that is scared here among their own. But those outside are fair game for the men. It is odd how they think. The women must take everything the husband do. Even if that means beatings and rape."
He thought about what Adrianna parents could be doing to her every day. If that was not enough, the others treat her the same. Scum that must be pushed around. "Maybe it is some love that will keep her sane and feel like she is something that can be loved. Maybe if I had that, my other side would not be as he is. Love can endure a lot. But there is a breaking point. It can last forever while it can break easily with someone hurting the other." He did not want to look at Lianna. Her eyes may give away what she was thinking. The question burned at his head.
"So do you have an idea of how to get us out of here?" He asked with a whisper. He did not trust anything around them. One never knew what could be lurking in the shadows.
