It is ironic that that particular band is filing for copyright infringement when one of their most popular songs is a rip-off of a much older song from another band of simillar genre.
Shame. Shame.
This... is both saddening and suspicious.
Well... at least I already knew they were bad news. This helps confirm my already developed suspicions. I must say that I enjoy how Jimmy took a mature and firm stance.

Truly, I do understand the importance of protecting the identity and rights of the accuser, but there must be some clause about accusing. Suffice to say, there is a reality involved in publicity, that whatever the public is exposed to essentially belongs to the public. Although this isn't something that really is formed in the format of law, it is a common knowledge practice that goes around. It's quite interesting to see that the producing company is reacting this way, especially when such a reproduction of their names and likeness could easily be free advertisement. Even if the content is not what is desired, it is not like it can be so irreversibly reputation-damaging, especially on a reasonably close-knit role-play site. I would go so far as to say this is ridiculous, but as far as business goes, it's actually more expected than not. However, such laws are in need of some revision considering they are extremely one-sided.

So whoever it was that files complaints against us in our small community of roleplayers, they are the whiny little ninnies that take all their rage out on the little man. Shame on them.

Atlantic have done worse things than file DMCAs against roleplaying sites, yo.

Also if these companies thought it through they would have went to youtube and bitched about all the users who used skillits music for AMVs and GMVs we don't have the right to use the music because of copyrights so why isn't youtube shut down because of this either. I am not blaming the band I bet they didn't even know this happened I say it's just the record company being douche canoes
Not really. If you buy their crap the record company will still get most the money, which supports doing stuff like this.
What a lot of you need to realise is that the members of Skillet probably have absolutely nothing to do with this. Atlantic Records are the ones who filed the DMCA. If you're a fan of the group don't feel as if you should hate the band because of this.

Yeah I just lost all respect for them.

Those role plays don't exist anymore, and don't seem to have ever existed so this shouldn't even be a problem that is occurring. This band is a christen band, and I'm not trying to bash anything that they stand for, because I stand for them as well, but they might have seen something that they didn't like or something and now they are just trying to say that these role plays existed to get the site shut down because we don't fit into the word of the bible and that's not okay to them. Or maybe those did exist at one point and now that they are shut down there is just an error or something on the site that is trying to go forth and prosecute this site for something that isn't around anymore. This isn't right in any shape or form though. People come to this site to escape their reality and relax from the daily stress. They shouldn't take it down because of something like this. People go through so much and this is a place where people can come and relax and confide in those that have the same ideas as them on things they would like to escape into the type of world that exists in. They need to solve the problems and then get over it, since those urls don't even work anymore.
