It's been a few months since the last clash with Kira Yamato, pilot of the Strike Freedom. The two ace pilots decided that the fight had gone on too long. They made peace, and balance was restored to the chaotic battle. That's what it seemed like to a civilian's eyes. Shinn had his mobile suit, Destiny Gundam, repaired and he joined Kira and the gang on their ship. ZAFT has lost one of their most treasured pilots. However, they still had Lunamaria Hawke. A pilot that graduated from the academy with flying colours. They send her out when Kira's side threatens their purpose once more. Of course, ORB wasn't giving up without a fight. Sending out Shinn this time, because they were still fixing Kira's mobile suit, the two meet for the first time in a couple of months. But the problem was, now they were on different sides. What happens to these two as they confront each other on the battle field?

Glancing at her radar, Luna frowned when she noticed to mobile suits approaching no sooner did she see that that she heard Shinn's voice saying what she had noticed. Putting up a burst of sped, Luna narrowed her eyes slowly. She knew that she could outrun them if she needed to but she didn't want to put Shinn's injured body through to much. However, she was not willing to leave him aboard a ZAFT ship any longer. It would do his safety no good. Glancing at him after his question, she said softly
"We'll reach the ArchAngel in a few minutes. Don't move to much, Shinn. You're wounds will open again, try to keep yourself still".
Keeping her hands steadily on the controls, she glanced at her radar again, a bit satisfied to find she was leaving the two mobile suits behind. It was a few long moments after the ArchAngel came into view and soon they were closing in on it. The gundam's that were chasing them were a good distance away and with Shinn in the Evolution, Luna knew she would have no way of fighting them. She wouldn't risk his safety. Stopping in front of the ORB ship, Luna looked at Shinn silently before saying softly
"I'll send them a message to get Kira or Athrun out here to get you. You'll be safe with them, Shinn. Until you recover I expect you not to move around to much".
Her eyes looked into his quietly yet distant. Shinn's mobile suit and his friends were here and this was where he needed to be, but Luna knew she had a different mission above the ZAFT ship. If she wanted to stop the chairman, she had to be where she could see him.

Shinn's breathing was quite laboured as he stayed in an unconscious state as Luna moved him so he was sitting upright.
"Luna..." he mumbled out softly, yet weakly. He could hear Luna's voice, but it was distorted and faraway. What's worse was that it echoed in his head, and even the smallest noise sent sharp pains through his head. He was sweating profusely, and it felt like he was burning up; but at the same time, it was like he was inside a freezer. A couple of ZAFT soldiers passed and glanced at him with curious expressions before moving on. Shinn didn't look familiar, but they brushed him off as a new recruit. Why he was on the ground was another case altogether. They seemed to be aware of him until they left the corridor. Not a moment too soon as Luna came back.
"Ugh...." he groaned softly as he felt his limbs get fitted into the red pilot suit. Slowly, he felt his weight get shifted off the ground.
Soon, he found himself slowly drifting back to consciousness. All he saw was the padding and electrical devices within a cockpit of a gundam. His vision faded for a second but came back to him. Slowly, he shifted his gaze over to Luna.
"Where... are we?" he asked as he seemed to have finally awaken. Sitting up straight as they blasted off, he felt the familiar sensation of getting rocked backward for a few seconds. But the sensation soon faded and they were flying through space once more. Grabbing the back of the pilot seat, he pulled himself forward, wincing a bit as his wounds and muscles protested.
"Two mobile suits in pursuit..." he coughed a bit,
"How much longer till we get to the Archangel?" he asked weakly.

Luna frowned lightly as she stared at him but said nothing of the matter. She did however stand and follow him quickly, while making sure to look warily down the halls so none of the loyal followers would spot them. Seeing Shinn pass out again while approaching the hanger doors, she ran to his side with a startled gasp. Her own heart was pounding quickly in her chest as she instantly began to check him over, letting out a tiny sigh and propping him against the hall wall for a few moments.
"What for me here, Shinn. I'll get us some help"
Luna said though she knew he probably would not be able to hear her. Walking quickly yet with a calm expression on her face, she headed into the hanger. Looking around through blue eyes, she spotted one of the engineers working on her gundam and hurried over.
"Raul" Luna called, approaching from behind him.
"Luna?....What brings you around here?" the engineer asked while he turned to face her.
"I need a favor and you're the only one that can help me right now" Luna responded quietly, looking at him through hopeful eyes.
Seeing something was up, Raul sighed before asking "I'm going to regret this, but what do you need?"
Smiling relieved, Luna asked softly "Is the Evolution ready to take off?".
"The repairs are done with, we were just getting ready to put more systems into it, why?" Raul asked rather confused.
"I need to get out of here" Luna answered in a determined tone of voice.
Staring at her quietly for a few moments, Raul finally nodded and said "Got it, suit up then and get yourself and your friend on the Gundam, I can only buy you a few moments. I'll get the launching details done with".
"Thank you" Luna replied with a smile and a light hug to the man before she rushed back to Shinn.
Placing a helmet gently over his head, she tucked him the best she could into a battle suit before suiting herself up and half carrying half dragging Shinn towards her Gundam. Once safely inside the Mobile Suit, she took the controls and listened calmly for Raul's signal. Once given she blasted out of the hanger and looked towards her radar, focusing her mind on one thing. Getting to the ArchAngel.

Shinn looked at the ground, his eyes seeming faraway. Like he was somewhere else... anywhere but there at the moment. Suddenly, he felt her cool forehead against his. A bit surprised, his eyes widened slightly but then he closed his eyes and let out a small, soft sigh. He leaned into her hand a little, just that little bit of comfort was helping him. As she spoke, he kept his eyes closed. It was like he could separate from his own body if he kept his eyes closed any longer. Then... he wouldn't have to be in so much pain. He wouldn't have to feel like he was so useless anymore... But he's wrong, what good is he if he's dead? Opening his eyes once more, he found that she had stopped talking.
Looking up at her, his crimson eyes made contact with her blue ones for a few seconds before she had closed them.
"Man... I wish I had shot the guy when I was still in ZAFT." he sighed and closed his eyes for a second then opened them.
"If... if I can just get my hands on a mobile suit... we can get back to the Archangel." he sighed softly,
"Someone in the hangar... we need to go to someone in the hangar that isn't convinced by the chairman's words." he said and suddenly got up. His vision grew dark for a second, and he was sure he had fainted. But it came back, and a searing pain was invading his head.
"Agh...." he held his head with his free hand. But then it went away after a few minutes,
"We gotta go... now" he panted and started walking toward the hangar.
In the hallway, he was keeping a rather quick pace. He was almost there, he could see the door to the hangar! With a surge of hope, he started to run and for the second time that day... he passed out once more. His body wasn't ready for that kind of energy exertion yet. He was too weak to run, and for sure, he definitely needed time for his bones and wounds to heal. Before then, he would probably pass out every single time he pushed his body too hard. A clear example shown by him passing out many times.

Luna frowned at his words and sighed softly. She had never thought that Shinn was useless as he was stating but in his condition, she knew where his words were coming from. Lifting her free hand, she gently placed it against his cheek and leaned forward to rest her forehead against his saying softly
"You're not useless, Shinn, things are just harder than they once were. Things are different and have gotten worse. But you're not useless. You're making a difference with your interferences, no matter how small it may seem. ORB and yourself are doing the best you can at the moment and though it may seem to you that nothing is changing, you're wrong, Shinn. Things are slowly starting to get better. Not everyone in ZAFT wants to fight anymore, because they are starting to listen to you and your friends. The only big problem you'll have to deal with is the chairman. He's the head of the problem, Shinn, the one thing you and ORB have to get rid of. Once he is gone, things will become better, as you wish for".
Closing her eyes slowly as she said those words, Luna sighed softly again. She knew what she was saying about the chairman wasn't easy to do, but she was right with ZAFT not wanting to fight any longer. After the last fight they had, many of the pilots had begun to doubt what the chairman was telling them was for the best. He was the problem and so were Fate and Lucien, but Luna knew she could handle the two pilots. However, she hated hearing Shinn talk of himself in such a way. He was the strongest and most determined pilot she had ever met and for him to sound so fragile and like he was giving up, it hurt her. Right now, she would have to protect Shinn while he was on a ZAFT ship but when she would be able to get him back to ORB, it would be in his and ORB's hands to stop the fighting.

Shinn was completely drained of energy as he stood in front of the two. His face was devoid of any other colour than a ghostly pale. The blood was drained out of his face, and his skin felt hot yet he looked cold... which was true. His core temperature was forcing itself out so much that it left him shivering as he stood calmly in front of them.
"I think I know what I can do. If I can walk out of bed, then it doesn't mean I have to be in bed now do I?" he replied with a smug tone, nope, even injured, he's still the same old Shinn. But he could hardly find the strength to smirk, a corner of his mouth lifted up to form a rather awkward smirk.
"Don't worry Hayate, I'll live" he told the boy and watched as he awoke Luna from her slumber. Watching her wake up, he smiled when she looked at him. His entire expression softening. But soon enough, he found himself face to face with a worried Luna... again.
"No, I'm not actually..." he stated in a light tone and smiled. The wounds had been cleaned and stitched up, at least they felt a bit better.
Getting forced down onto the couch, he looked at her and smiled.
"I came to see you" he replied simply,
"You know that I hate being in hospital rooms alone" he told her as he leaned against the back of the couch and looked at Luna calmly. Feeling the cloth against his head, he could feel it sopping up all the sweat that had accumulated on his forehead and facial area.
"I'm... pretty useless aren't I?" he chuckled, grabbing her wrist and slowly pushed it down so she wasn't wiping his face anymore.
"Everything's just making me feel like that little useless kid back then... I couldn't do anything back then... and I can't do anything now" he mumbled with a soft, sad chuckle. His grip on her wrist tightening a bit but then slackened.

Hayate gazed at Shinn in shock, his green eyes wide and surprised at the appearance of the injured enemy pilot. Fate and Lucien had mostly the same expressions on their faces but also carried a deep cold in their eyes. Ignoring the other two pilots, Hayate frowned at Shinn and said softly
"You should still be in bed. Look at yourself, you can hardly stand, Asuka"
His voice was filled with concern but also with annoyance for the situation going on in front of him. Narrowing his eyes, he let out a soft sigh and shut his book, placing it on the table beside the couch with a small thud. Looking down at Luna, Hayate reached out and brushed a few strands of hair out of her face calling softly
"Luna......wake up Luna".
Breathing out a soft groan of annoyance, Luna fluttered her eyelids open and rubbed her eyes with the back of her hands, looking around through the haze of her sleep. Seeing a blurred figure in front of her, she frowned and blinked a few more times before she saw it was Shinn. Letting out a startled gasp, she stood up quickly and asked in a worried snap of tone
"What do you think you're doing, Shinn? Are you insane?"
Murmuring soft curses to herself under her breath, she forced him to sit on the couch and glanced at Hayate in warning. Catching the message, he instantly stood and made quick work of shoving Fate and Lucien out of the room before standing by the door to keep watch over who came close. Both he and Luna knew that Shinn would not be well wandering the halls of the new ZAFT ship.
"Why are you out of bed?" Luna demanded in a soft tone of voice, walking over to one of the cabinets in the room and pulling out a cloth before walking back to him and gently wiping the sweat away from his face.

Shinn was in darkness, just darkness. Somewhere, far off... he could hear people talking. He could feel people clamoring around him, and he could feel the bite of scalpels as it entered his wounds. Yet at the same time... he couldn't feel anything. It was like... he knew it was there yet he couldn't feel it. How does that work?
(I Luna... where are you?) he wondered, he let out a soft sigh. Unaware that he had done it for real rather than his imaginary self. Finally, finding the strength to get up, he started to move. His hand groping in the darkness for something to hold onto, for something that could support him. Yet there was nothing, and he stumbled, falling onto the non-existent ground. Curling his hands into fists, he got up again. Slowly, he moved again. Far off, he could see something. Light? Forcing his weak limbs to move, he started to run toward it.
(I Luna, I'm coming!) he thought as he ran through the light.
A soft gasp came from his lips as his eyes opened wide. Sweat was present on his face, but the doctors were no where to be found. His body was bandaged up, they must've finished. His breathing was hard, his chest rose and fell heavily. Getting up slowly, he leaned against the wall. His body was burning up with the blanket over him. Letting his breathing slow down a bit, he then found enough sense in his head to slowly crawl out of bed. As soon as he allowed weight on his legs, he nearly collapsed. It was like he had spent the last of his energy in that darkness in his head. But he knew better, it was the drugs. He could barely feel anything, externally of course. His brain was unsure of how much muscle it should really use in order to walk because of it.
Making sure to walk slowly, planting his feet on the ground firmly before he continued, he got out of the medical room. Sweat was pouring off his face by the time he got to where Luna was. The pilots all looked at him, wiping some sweat off his brow with the back of his hand, he walked over to Luna and Hayate. His breathing was laboured again, but he continued to walk until he got to them.
"Hey..." he mumbled to Hayate and then looked over at Luna's sleeping form.

Luna watched Shinn silently. When he reached for her, she took a step forward and grasped his hand gently before releasing it when they strapped him down and prepared for his operation. Exiting the medical wing, she felt her body trembling and a huge amount of worry and sadness rolled through her. *Shinn....* she thought, pressing a hand against her mouth and closing her eyes to fight back the tears and anger that filled her. She didn't know what she could do for him, if she could do anything at all. Leaning back against the hall wall, Luna tilted her head back against the wall and kept her eyes shut. Confusion and frustration clouded her, and her loyalties and will kept tearing her in two. Blinking open her eyes, swiping a few gathered tears from her long lashes, Luna sighed and shook her head. *What am I supposed to do, Shinn?* she asked in her mind, looking at the hospital wing's doors again with a tired gleam and frown on her face. She stayed like that for a few long moments before she straightened slowly, looking at the doors silently then turned and headed down the hall. She had to believe that Shinn was in good hands at the moment because she knew there was nothing she could do to help him now.
Walking down the halls, she headed for the break area in the ship. Letting the doors slide open, she stepped in and looked at Hayate who was reading on a long couch before her gaze traveled to Fate and Lucien. Both who were watching some news on a screen. The chairman wanted all of them to spend their time together as a team and though she and Hayate had both protected, they had eventually resented. Walking over to Hayate, Luna sat down at his side and leaned against him slowly, closing her eyes as tiredness over took her. Wrapping a comforting arm around her, Hayate asked softly
"How is he doing?"
"They're operating him" Luna replied softly and sighed as she felt Hayate shake his head. Slowly she allowed sleep to take over her.
