He thanks her and grabs a change of clothes from his bag, a pair of old sleep pants and a black t-shirt. He finds the bathroom and takes a towel and washcloth from the closet inside, closing the door and starting the shower.

He feels slightly uncomfortable about showering in a stranger's house but he had been driving for the past few days and he wasn't about to pass up the chance at getting clean.

When he's done, he dries off and puts his towel and washcloth in the hamper by the door. He puts his clothes back in the room before wandering downstairs. He peeks around the corner and finds her in the living and gives a shy smile. "I might take you up on the offer to hang out." he grins.

She giggled a bit as she listened to him. "Yeah I'll let you take a shower. It's just down the hall. I'll be downstairs if you feel like hanging out or anything." She headed downstairs to leave him to take a shower and get ready for the night.

She sat on the couch and searched for movies. She didn't know what to watch. Nothing seemed interesting tonight. She didn't know what else she could do though. It was getting late and going outside didn't seem like a really bright idea.

He puts his bag on the bed and the guitar next to it. He looks at her and shakes his head with a small smile. "I'm okay, thank you. I'm not really hungry or anything. However, I wouldn't mind a shower if I could use one." he requests.

At her question, he gives a little laugh. "Oh you know, the typical graduate student taking time off to travel. Things just got crazy and I needed time to myself so I got a car, got a map and just drove. Guess I should have realized it was a bad idea when I only paid $400 for the car." He grins.

She smiled as she led him to the room. She stood in the doorway as she watched him. "Is there anything I can get for you? I'll show you around in the morning." She liked meeting new people. She couldn't wait to see what he was like. He seemed nice and she wondered what he was doing in this small town. "What were you doing in here? I mean not many people like coming through here since this town doesn't have much to offer."

He rubs the back of his neck and looks at her father. "If you're sure it's okay." He says.

Her father nods. "Might as well. Don't want a wild animal getting to you on that road. Bay, you want to show the young man to the guest room?" he asks, getting up to start a pot of coffee.

Jake turns to her with a shy grin. "Thanks again." he murmurs, picking up his guitar and bag again.

He follows her as she takes him to the room, looking around the house as they pass each room.

She looked at him and sighed. "No we'd love to have you. It will be nice to have someone around to hang out with for a while. It will be fun I promise. Please?" She couldn't believe she was actually begging someone to stay here. It was fun living with her dad and all but it often got tiring. Today all she wanted to do was go out and see what was happening around town just so she could get out of the house for a while.

He looks between the girl and the man before he puts his guitar down. He reaches out his hand to shake hers. "I'm sorry, I'm Jake Tucker. It's really okay, I don't want to impose on anyone. I can always walk back to my car and sleep there for the night." He says, already feeling like he'd overstayed his welcome.

He listens to her talk about the repair shop and thinks. "I guess I'll just get a motel room or something until it's ready. Pretty sure I got enough cash for it." he tells them, adjusting his hat.

She looks over at him and giggles a bit. (b "You're funny. Even if you walk fast you're not going to make it into town by tomorrow. You're staying the night here and we'll drive into town in the morning. We have a guest room." She crossed her arms and watched him. "But let me tell you that those boys that own that repaire shop don't always make the best time with their repairs. For all you know it could be a week before they are actually done with it." She giggled a bit and looked over at her father then back at the man. "I believe I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Bay Hart. You are?" She raised an eyebrow as she watched him carefully. She wondered what he was doing in this town.

Jake looks up as he makes arrangements over the phone to have his car picked up. His eyes meet with the girl from the photos in the hall and he stumbles over his words for a moment. "Thanks very much, I'll walk in to town tomorrow to pay for the repairs." he says.

Hanging up the phone, he bumps his knee in to the cupboard as he turns away from the watchful gaze of the girl. "Thanks very much Sir, I'll be heading out now. Long walk in to town." he says, reaching for his bag.

He smiles politely at the girl and moves to walk towards the hallway.
