He slides his pair of sunglasses over his eyes to shade his vision from the sun overhead. "Driving isn't too hard once you get the hang of it. Just remember which pedal is which, and maintain the speed limit. And of course, know the difference between left and right. You'll do fine."
The walk to the small car lot is fairly quiet with both being distracted by different things. He jolts her from her thoughts by clearing his throat and pointing to the parking lot up head. "Once we're done here, we can find some empty street and I'll show you how to drive. That way once we're on the road we won't have to stop unless necessary," he explains quietly.
Their conversation is cut short by a large man with flashy plaid pants approaching them, a stereotypical salesman grin on his face. "Welcome to Bob's Motors,I'm Bob McFaren," he holds out a large hand which Conor reluctantly shakes.
"I'm looking for something driveable but cheap. We're in a bit of a hurry, we're late for a family party out of town and our car just broke down," Conor lies smoothly, tucking his hands back in his pockets.
The man shows them a few cars, but none that are reliable looking. On their way around the truck section, Conor spots an old Ford that has been decently taken care of. "How much for the Ford truck?" he asks, digging the bills from his pocket.
"Twelve hundred cash and you got it," The salesman leans against it.
"I don't know, twelve hundred is kind of unfair. This thing is starting to rust along the panels and the interior needs to be redone. Plus, the tailgate is missing," he walks around the front. "The window even has a crack. I'll give you six hundred for it, no more, no less."
The banter goes back and forth for a few moments before the salesman caves and hands over the keys. The inside of the truck is musty and dust cakes the dashboard. There is only one bench seat so the three of them will be crammed together, but it would work.
After pulling out of the lot, Conor finds an old road and pulls off to the side, getting out and motioning to the driver seat. "Slide over, this is your first driving lesson," he smiles.
Ariadne stayed quiet as Ashtyn muttered angrily to himself, it was actually entertaining, the faces he was making. She wanted to laugh but would probably have to face his wrath if she did, so she bit her bottom lip and tried to hold back her laugh as much as possible. She leaned against the wall, waiting for Conor to come out and close the door so she could release the laugh that she had been holding it.
She began to laugh as soon as it he closed the door, it felt weird and unused. Which made sense since she hadn't laughed since she was locked up. She looked at Conor and sighed, "Sorry. What about driving now?" She never though she would have learn how to drive. "Are you sure that's the best idea?" She asked as she followed him into the elevator. "I mean, what if I'm terrible at it and get us all killed or worse?" She wasn't sure what was worse then death but she felt she would be able to pull it off.
She followed him out of the evlavtor, still freaking out about the whole driving thing. She could end up putting them all into comas. Or kill them and she'd be all alone. Or end up placing them right into the hands of those things! She wanted to run around screaming like people did in comedies when they freaked out then got slapped in the face to calm them down. She rubbed her cheek, okay that wasn't the best idea.

Conor pauses at the door, hearing Ashtyn muttering angrily to himself. He rolls his eyes and keeps walking, avoiding another fight. They couldn't draw attention to themselves by hollering at each other.
He joins Ariadne in the hallway and tucks his wallet in to his back pocket. "I'll have to teach you how to drive. I don't really trust Ashtyn to be smart behind the wheel, but I'm going to need another driver. I won't be able to drive constantly while were on the move." he tells her as the elevator chimes and they step inside.
He presses the button for the ground floor and leans up against the wall, closing his eyes briefly. "Later when we're on the road I'll explain about the Cepans, and how we got here. I remember quite a bit of it. To be honest I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. It's nice to remember home, but it hurts to remember that it's no longer there." he sighs, opening his eyes again.
When the doors open, he steps out, tucking his hands in his pockets. "Okay, we'll go to the cheap car dealership down the street. I have about $600 to spend. That'll get us a cheap enough car and enough money for gas for a while. We'll have to camp out in the car for a few days until I figure out how to come up with more cash," he speaks to her as they walk.
"A Cepan?" Ariadne frowned and looked down at the ground. She had someone with her and they didn't make it because of her. She feared how the Cepan must feel. They tried to save her but she ended up in the hands of danger either way. She looked down at Slick and sighed. It seemed like anyone that was close to her in the past ended up getting hurt and she hated knowing that. She brought her knees to her chest and hugged her legs as she tried to picture any of the people. She felt worse that she had no memory of them at all. Not a scent or eye color or anything came to mind.
She jumped at the noise of a door being slammed and looked around, confused. She had been so lost in thought that she had no idea on what just happened. She looked at Ashtyn, who looked annoyed, and noticed that Conor was gone. He must have been the person that slammed the door. She looked down at Slick again only to have to look up when her name was called. "I'll come with." She jumped off the bed and walked to the door. She went out into the hall and waited for him.

Conor is quiet for a moment. "Sounds like it could have been your Cepan. They are our guides here. They were with us to train us and protect us as much as they could. But it doesn't sound like yours made it any farther than mine did."
Ashtyn comes back out and throws his towel on the bed carelessly. "Little baggy but they'll do just fine, I guess. I'll have to find something better on my own if I'm going to be meeting new girls all the time," he stretches in his new clothes.
"I don't want to hear any complaints out of you. We need to rely on each other to stay alive and that isn't going to happen if Ariadne and I have to babysit you." Conor snaps, picking up a white t-shirt and dark jeans.
He slams the door to the bathroom, feeling irritated with the younger male. He knew that Ashtyn was being a normal teenage boy, but they weren't normal teenagers, and Conor needed him to be focused on what they have to do.
He comes out a few minutes later and packs up the rest of the clothes, stuffing them in the backpacks. "I'm going to look for a car. Ashtyn stay here, I don't have time to keep you in line. Ariadne, you can come or stay here, it's up to you." he says, grabbing his wallet.
