[center [font "tempus sans itc" Millie's always one who believes in anything and everything. She doesn't care what other's think, and she sure as hell doesn't care if she gets hurt in the process. When she was younger, she had seen a man. A man that looked like someone from the olden days. He looked like a king, but there was something different about his eyes. They were blood red, and she felt like he was about to kill her. She had let out a bloody loud scream, and when her father came running the man she saw was no longer there. When she tried telling her father what had happened, he wouldn't believe her. No matter how hard she tried to make him believe he, he just told her it had been a nightmare.]]
[center [font "tempus sans itc" As the years passed, she still saw the man. She would see him in the shadows, she would see him in her house, and she would sometimes see her in other people's houses. That's when she started doing her research. She didn't know his name, and all she had was what he looked like. As she started digging around on the internet, was when she found legends about Vampires. She knew they were just legends, but something else told her this time it was real. The red eyes, the fact that he looked so out of place. That's when she started digging into the supernatural world.]]
[center [font "tempus sans itc" She was starting to realize that the supernatural were real. She had read more into witches, and how they could be walking this Earth still. The more she dug, the deeper she got into the darker part of the world. She would see the man more and more, and he would still look the same. Sometimes he looked lost, but other times he looked like he was about ready to rip her head off. While she had been doing more digging on Vampires, he had shown up to her and had given her a warning. A warning that made her blood run cold. He had told her, that if she kept digging he would hunt her down and kill her himself.]]
[center [font "tempus sans itc" Those words had haunted her for years. She had stopped researching, but the little information she had stuck with her. The way they didn't age, they way their eyes changed colors, and how they were always silent on their feet. She's now in her early twenties, and has started doing research once more. The man hadn't shown back up, but she kept his warning at the back of her mind if she started digging too deep. One of these days, she's going to break into the supernatural world, and she had a feeling she might lose her life in the process, but she was bound to find out if that kind of world was real.]]

[center [font "tempus sans itc" When Maverick had been younger his parents had wanted nothing more than to see him grow into the man he was supposed to be. When he was in High School he had everything going for him. He was the star of the football team, he was playing baseball, along with other sports. He was the main person people would go to for questions, or advice. When he hit his senior year was when everything changed for him. He had gotten into a horrible accident, and he was on the brink of death, when a woman named Lillith came to him. She was beautiful, and she had made promises to the male that she wasn't about to keep.]]
[center [font "tempus sans itc" She did keep one of her promises though. She kept him alive, even though he wouldn't be able to see his parents again. She had turned him into a Demon. A killer machine, and someone she could use whenever she pleased. Because the woman kept him alive, Maverick didn't have much choice but to do as she asked of him. Even if it meant going into different towns and killing everyone. There was one thing he wouldn't do though, he wouldn't kill his own family. Because he had refused to do such a thing, she killed them for him. She made him watch, as she cut their insides out, and he watched as his mother screamed as her insides were ripped out, and her life drained from her eyes.]]
[center [font "tempus sans itc" Watching as Lillith killed the only people he had loved, he made a vow to himself. He wasn't going to let Lillith get away with this any longer. He wasn't going to let her get away with killing innocent people. Yes, they didn't know anything about the underworld, or Demons, or Hell Hounds, but they didn't deserve to die. He had broken their bond, and when Lillith saw how strong he was becoming, she fled. She didn't want him to even get near her. As the years passed, Maverick aged slowly, he killed less and less, unless he had no other choice. He's hell bent on killing Lillith, and he will find the help along the way. Even if he doesn't trust anyone as easily like he used too.]]
[center [font "tempus sans itc" If anyone took the time to really break down his walls, they would realize that he's still a good person. Even though he's a killing machine, and on a rampage hunting down the woman who ruined his life. If you take the time to get to know him, and are able to start picking his brain, you will realize that he's still the same person he had been. He was just stronger, and always out for blood. He doesn't want to live like this, but what other choice does he have in the matter? He has to survive one way or the other, and if it means killing the monster that made him who he was, then so be it. He's not going to rest until her head is in his hands, and her blood covering his clothes.]]

[font "tempus sans itc" The whole thing wasn't going as planned. The woman was slowly struggling with her inner demons at the moment. She had everything going for her, and yet at the same time, she had nothing. She watched as the human and cat interacted. It was a bond she missed herself. She didn't quite understand what was so special about an animal and human bond, but deep down she wanted nothing more than to have that kind of bond as well. It didn't have to be with an animal persay, but with another human being.]
[font "tempus sans itc" The woman shook her head a bit when Blythe mentioned the room she could have, did come with a bed. She cocked her head to the side, and her heart seemed to skip a beat. [#D7ACAC "So are you saying you are going to give me a shot?"] she asked. She didn't want to hold her breath for long, but she did hope that Blythe was slowly opening up to the thought of having another person around. She would help out the best she could. Hell, she did have a couple of places in mind, that she was going to apply for as soon as they were done here.]
[font "tempus sans itc" It was slightly slow going, but it was still something she would work on. She put her hands into her lap, as she looked down at the table top. Everything might be happening the way it was supposed to be. She took a breath lightly as she looked back towards the raven haired female before her. [#D7ACAC "I know I've been talking a lot.. I tend to do that when I'm nervous, and I am sorry about that. I'm not trying to make you feel like I need the pity, when I don't. I guess I'm just jumping at the chance to gain a place to stay, at least for a little while"]]
[font "tempus sans itc" [#D7ACAC "I do have places in mind for a job, and hoping in the next day or two I'll be able to start. Once I can get on my feet, I will leave so that way, you won't have to deal with me for that long"] she breathed out. It would be nice to have a bed for a little while, and then she could get a place of her own. Something her parents told her over and over again, wouldn't happen. She was about to prove them wrong, along with everyone else around her. She reached out, grabbed her cup, and took a sip of the coffee.]
[font "tempus sans itc" She set the cup back down, and took a deep breath. She then bit her tongue to keep herself from speaking out once more. She waited or the woman to say something. Her heart hammering inside of her chest the whole time, the silence stretching out between them. She felt like she should say something more, but what more could she say? She felt like she got her point across, and hoped that she would have a place for the next couple of weeks. If not, she would figure something out, like she always did.]

[font "tempus sans itc" Listening to the woman talking about her paper, made the male smirk a bit. So she was really passionate about this. He couldn't really blame her either. She was different, and she was someone he wouldn't mind getting to know either. Something about the way her mind worked seemed to pull him into this whole thing. When she leaned over the table once more, talking about the old lady he shuddered a bit. There was something there that really set him on edge about that one. Something that hit a little too close to home.]
[font "tempus sans itc" He wasn't about to let her know that though. When she leaned back, and commented on his question about where to go. He didn't really know. He just knew, that the people behind the counter weren't too happy he was here. He felt a pair of eyes on him, and when he looked over his shoulder one of the men behind the counter was watching them. His arms were crossed over his chest, and the look on his face was putting the male on edge. He knew people could sense he was different.]
[font "tempus sans itc" Even though he was different, it didn't mean they had to treat him any different either. He looked back at Mavis and cocked his head to the side. [#b4c8ee "Honestly, I'm not too picky as to where. Either a place you know of, or we can just part ways for the time being, and if we happen to bump into one another again, we could do something else about it"] he said with a small shrug of his shoulders. He wasn't about to make her do something she didn't want to do either. He could tell she was on edge about him.]
[font "tempus sans itc" Yet at the same time, she was opening up about her passions and that made his heart skip a beat. Something about her was drawing him, and yet he couldn't tell what it was. Maybe she was different than everyone else. Maybe just maybe, something could happen between the two. Just the thought made the male smirk, and he had to fight the urge to roll his eyes. He then stood and slid the computer back towards her, grabbing his coffee cup.]
[font "tempus sans itc" [#b4c8ee "The paper is amazing. I think it'll get a really good grade. I can tell you are passionate about it, and that's what this world needs more of. Passionate people like you. I really am sorry for intruding like I did, but I do thank you for letting me into your world, at least for the moment. If you still want to deal with my ass, then I'll be wandering around town for a while longer"] he said with a warm smile. Or at least, he hoped it was a warm smile.]
[font "tempus sans itc" He made sure he had everything he came with, and then walked towards the exit. He could still feel eyes on his back, and he stopped long enough to turn around. The male that had been eyeballing him the whole time, was still standing there, arms crossed, watching him. If looks could kill, he would have been dead already. He opened the door, stepped out into the cool air, and started walking along the street. He didn't have a place in mind, but he couldn't shake the feeling something bad was bound to happen.]
[right [pic https://i.pinimg.com/564x/21/cf/db/21cfdbef1cc828c07e46616c99ef8306.jpg]] [font "Times" [size15 Blythe watched Millie as she promised, her fingers shifting a bit on the table top as she did. Sighing, she felt a pang of guilt at the other living in their car. She just. Hmph. Blythe was a cautious person, by nature, verging on paranoid. But there was, to an extent, good reason. She had no idea how Millie would respond to some of the parts of her work. People coming in, 'people' coming by at all hours, the messed up sleep schedule Blythe herself had as a result...
Something gently frustrated started winding tighter in her at how Millie was telling her this. Explaining over and over how she understood, she got it if Blythe was just that distrusting. Her fingers drummed once on the tabletop, brows pressing a bit over her eyes. She was laying it on thick, wasn't she?
Her mouth did curl in a smile at the praise that Valerie received, however. Blythe looked down at him, ears on a swivel, eyes slit and watching the goings on, tail tip atwitch. He wasn't relaxed, per say, but he was sitting still and being good. She stroked over his back.
"[+purple He is a good boy, when he decides to be. Isn't that right?]" The cat looked up at her, seeking head pets. She provided. "[+purple Yeah, I'm talking about you, you know that, huh?]"
The woman's eyes returned to Millie when she spoke up again, making an offer. Blythe arched a brow at the hyperbolic suggestion that that was the only hinge to her reservation about the other woman. She was an anxious mess, firstly, was the first impression she had gotten, and verbose when it came to shelling out exactly how much she was suffering. And sure, Blythe felt for her, she was just annoyed at this circumstance. Dae'Onna could have told her, asked her and introduced them and taken them out to lunch or something instead of just shoving Millie out on her randomly in the middle of a work shift. Face to face would have been nice.
Blythe looked long at Millie for a moment, exhaling. "[+purple Well, you're in luck because the bedroom you could have does come with a bed.]" She wasn't happy about this, but she was willing to give it a try. She did, after all, kind of need someone to help with rent in the end. even for just a while. And she had a feeling she could take Millie in a fight, absolute worst case scenario.

Mavis sat there, crossing her legs tight, and chewed on her lip as she watched his face, awaiting any questions he might have. What surprised her was there weren't any, no comment until he finished. So it was readable, at least.
She blinked at him at his question, a little surprised. "[+green Well, mostly, because I wonder what medicine would look like if a lot of it wasn't destroyed through all those witch hunts and stuff, like five and more hundred years ago. I like spooky stuff. And it's cool to me to know how much history there is wound up in it. It's almost real, you know?]" She felt her face get a little warm at that, dreading him calling her 'cute' for it. That was the most infuriating thing, not taking this scholarship seriously.
"[+green That's the whole concept,]" Mavis responded, sitting forward a bit toward Maverick. "[+green It is real. Or it was, rather, as you and I know witchcraft.
Back then, during these times I'm referencing, no one had any idea about medical stuff, or not a whole lot. Most of it was superstitious 'medicine' that really didn't do anything healthful at all, and some of it was straight up poison. So herbalism and healing and things like that weren't understood by a lot of people, mainly women, and that was what was generally called 'witchcraft'." Mavis got up a bit, leaning on the table and coming closer and turning the computer a bit. She was leaned across the table top toward Maverick, glancing over the screen and gesturing with a finger at certain parts of the paper. "All the myths and the whole movement these days of these new witches all stemmed from these people, these kinda weirdos in these small communities on the verge of discovery.]"
Mavis spread her hands, sitting down again. Her eyes were bright, her sunglasses slipping a bit down on her head, threatening to fall onto her face. When they did, through another gesture at the computer, she just pushed them back up again.
"[+green Like this story here of that one eyed old, kinda gimpy woman in England, there,]" she turned the computer to look at her essay. "[+green She just happened to be blamed for all this mess with this disease in the town. The villagers had no idea it was their gross ass lack of hygiene and sewage control that caused the outbreak, and she was the like not super liked, kinda outsider woman who had these kind of skills and they blamed her for it.]"
She pushed her sunglasses back up her face again as Maverick spoke up again, looking uncomfortable. Mavis felt a little flush creep up her neck, acknowledging that she sort of stretched across the table to him and hunched her shoulders, looking around. It didn't seem like people were staring. She looked at the people who were behind the counter. Were those the ones he thought were staring? She looked back at Maverick, feeling hesitation well in her stomach. Following a random guy she just met who knew where...
"[+green Where?]" Half a chance. Depending on his answer, she would or wouldn't refuse.
[font "tempus sans itc" Millie understood where the woman was coming from and she nodded a bit. [#D7ACAC "If it'll make you feel better I won't say a word. I'm living in my car for crying out loud. Not many people even knew where I lived in the first place. I'm a private person, and if someone tells me something in private, those same words won't leave my mouth unless someone tells me that I can. I can understand where you are coming from, I really do. I'm not nosy, I know when I'm crossing a line a lot of the time, but if you don't feel comfortable with it, then just say it"] she said lightly. She took a small breath just then.]
[font "tempus sans itc" [#D7ACAC "I'm not going to beg you to let me stay. I can tell you are struggling with it, and I understand that. Well I guess I've taken up too much of your time as it is, so I guess I'll just leave you to figure out if you want to trust me, or if you don't want to trust me. Either way I'll most likely end up staying in my car, and that's something I need to live with"] she admitted. She wasn't laying on the pity me trick, she was speaking the truth. Everything that left her lips was true. She wasn't going to spill the beans about living with someone famous. Yeah it would be cool to tell people, but she wouldn't.]
[font "tempus sans itc" She was more trust worthy than that. People might not think that, but she was. She looked towards the cat and nodded a bit. [#D7ACAC "He is small enough, that people wouldn't really look down, so I do feel bad about him getting stepped on a lot. He's a pretty amazing cat that's for sure"] she said with a warm smile. It's been a dream of her's to have a black cat in her life, and seeing the way Val stayed by his human's side made her heart melt. He really was a good cat, and she could tell. She sighed lightly, as she looked around the cafe just then. It was kind of getting awkward just then.]
[font "tempus sans itc" She reached up, ran her fingers through her jet black hair and looked back at the woman before her. [#D7ACAC "If you change your mind, and feel like you can trust me, then let me know. Or we could do a trial run. Crash on your couch for a week, and if no fans come breaking down your door at three in the morning, then you'd know that I didn't tell anyone where you are"] she said lightly. She might as well lay the offer down onto the table. She wasn't looking forward to another night alone, sleeping in her car, or crashing on a friend's couch.]
[font "tempus sans itc" If she had too, she would. It would be better to sleep in a real bed for one night. She then leaned back, picked up her coffee cup, and brought it to her lips taking a sip. This time she let her words linger in the air, leaving the choice up to the woman before her. The ball was in her court now.]

[font "tempus sans itc" The male was slightly surprised when she asked him to proofread her paper. He thought she would have yelled at him, and told him to beat it. In all honesty he would have done just that. He nodded a bit, as he moved around the table and set his cup down. He then sat down across from her once more, and pulled the laptop towards him, his eyes moving across the screen. It was an interesting read so far. He looked up towards her and smirked a bit. [#b4c8ee "What made you want to write about this? I thought witchcraft wasn't real"] he said lightly, breaking the silence between them.]
[font "tempus sans itc" He knew that it was still practiced, because hell he knew women who still used it. He wasn't one of them, but he knew of them. He shook his head a bit as he looked back at the screen before him. As he read a lot of it was really making him think. Did people really do this kind of thing? He shook his head lightly, knowing he himself was living a lie himself. Ever since Lillith killed his family he felt like he had to kill the woman. He shuddered lightly at the thought, and then finished reading the paper. It was really fucking good. At least in his eyes it was.]
[font "tempus sans itc" He smiled a bit at the female. [#b4c8ee "I don't know how you feel about this whole thing, but the paper was amazing so far. I honestly don't see any spelling errors, or anything that needs to be changed. It's something that I wish people really knew how to do it. Maybe later on down the road, some type of witchcraft could be used once more, and no one would have to get hurt"] he said with a small shrug of his shoulders. He meant it too. The paper made him realize, how much he wanted to practice the craft himself, but he knew he couldn't. He was too much of a monster to be apart of it.]
[font "tempus sans itc" He leaned back in the chair before him, feeling people's eyes on him. It made him slightly uncomfortable, but he would deal with. He sighed a bit as he looked back at the woman before him. [#b4c8ee "Should we get out of here? People staring at me is really getting under my skin, I know they are wanting me out of here"] he admitted. He wouldn't blame her if she said no. He wasn't going to force her to do anything either.
