[font "times new roman" Blakely couldn't help but feel like a total idiot. Was she really getting into her own head about this? Was this really a date? Or was it just the two of them hanging out, and getting to know one another? That was something she was fighting herself with. She never really went out on dates, and who could blame her? She was a different creature, and no one took the time to get to know her. She sighed lightly as she looked at the menu in front of her. Everything sounded amazing, and that first burger Liz mentioned made her mouth water.]
[font "times new roman" She scanned the menu over a couple more times, before setting it down. She had decided to do a bacon cheese burger. Might as well go all out right? Before the nosy waitress could come back, Liz had pulled out her notebook, and was speaking about her list. The female pulled her own small piece of paper out of her pocket, and unfolded it. She sighed lightly as she looked towards the other. [#C4788E "Honestly, as soon as I found out about my skin cancer.. I just sat down one day and started writing"] she said lightly.]
[font "times new roman" [#C4788E "Now that I'm really looking at it, it's stupid, and cheesy shit.. so when you look at it, don't judge me"] she said with a small smile. Her mind then wandered back to what Liz had said about this being a date. She wouldn't mind if it was, but she wasn't about to put the woman on the spot like that. That's not how she rolled anyway. She then slid her page over to Liz and bit the inside of her cheek, there were only six simple words on the page, the most important things on her list. She had thought about adding more, but never did. She had been too chicken honestly.]
[font "times new roman" The six words that were on the page read as follows. [#C4788E [i Fall In Love || Learn how to cook || Own her own business || Fly in a plane || Go on a road trip || Learn how to sew]] She felt her cheeks turning a slight shade of pink as she watched Liz's reaction to the pointless items on her list. That's when Charlotte walked back over. [b "What can I get you both to start off with? We have some of the best chocolate shakes in town, and the burger's are to die for"] she said with a warm smile. Her eyes then turned to Blakely, [b "You first darling, what can I get you?"] she cooed.]
[font "times new roman" Blakely's cheeks turned even more red, and she hoped that the waitress hadn't seen what was on the page in front of Liz. [#C4788E "I would like a strawberry banana shake, along with the cheese burger. No bacon, and no tomatoes please"] she said as she closed the menu and handed it to the woman. She then wrapped her arms around herself, and looked down at the table top before her. She was nervous as hell, and Charlotte seemed to make matter's worse. She didn't know why, but she did. [b "And for you Liz?"] she asked turning the the red head before her.]
[font "times new roman" When she got the other's order she nodded lightly, and put the pad back into her pocket. [b "I'll be back with your drinks"] she said, and gave Blakely a small wink. Blakely sank a bit lower into the booth, wishing she hadn't agreed to come here. She sat there waiting for Liz to say something about her list, or to laugh at her and call her a child for what the list contained. The silence was killing her, and she hated it more than anything.]
[right [pic https://i.imgur.com/skV13XB.jpg ]]
[b "Is everything okay though?"]
Blakely asked as Liz pulled herself in the front seat. She buckled herself in as she gathered her thoughts.
[i [+crimson "Yes. They just take forever to set up appointments. I have no idea why they are like that."]]
Liz replied with a chuckle. The office really wasn't that bad, the receptionist was an older woman and her eyesight was fleeting. She had been going there since she was diagnosed and has slowly seen a decline in the speed in which the poor woman worked. It didn't seem like she would be the receptionist for too much longer, which was a shame.
As the jeep pulled into a space right next to the cafe, Liz started to feel a little more at ease. She had been coming to this place since before her condition. They walked up to the place and Liz held the door open as Blakely walked inside. A familiar voice greeted them as they arrived.
[i [+crimson "Great."]]
She whispered under her breath as she turned her eyes to the woman who never knew when to shut up. As much as she liked Charlotte, she always had to say something to make people squirm. She followed both women to the booth in the back that was set up and ready. It was her usual spot. After sliding in the booth across from her now embarssed new friend, she smiled sheepishly.
[i [+crimson "I am so sorry about her. I have been coming here for a couple years so she has gotten too comfortable with me. I hope she didn't make you feel too weird. She means well. And I have only brought one date here before and it was like 2 years ago! She wont let go how terrible it went."]]
The words spilled out to fast for her to retrack them. For some reason she wanted to tell this creature her true unfiltered thoughts. That concept scared her a little and she laughed nervously.
[i [+crimson "Not that I am calling this a date. I just dont want you to think I bring everyone here. Just the people I think are cool. This place means a lot to me."]]
She said, oversharing once again. After another nervous laugh she looked at the menu.
[i [+crimson "Their avocado burger is to die for. It is so good. Unless you want something lighter. If so, you should do the blue cheese chicken salad. Its so good."]]
She quickly put her menu up so Blakely could not see the crazy look on her face. She started to chastise herself in her head but then pulled it together before Charlotte returned to take their orders. As she waited for their nosy waitress to return, she pulled her notebook out and flipped to the page that held a small list on it.
[i [+crimson "I am excited to hear more about your list. When did you start making yours?"]]
[font "times new roman" Blakely was starting to think that Liz had ditched out on her. She wouldn't be surprised honestly. Not everyone wanted to be around her, she was kind of strange. Her personality was that of a cat. She loved the attention, and she would do everything in her power to make it known. She sighed lightly as she kept watching the stars pop out one by one, by one. She was about to give up, and go home when she heard the woman's voice. She looked towards her, a small smile on her face. [#C4788E "Oh, it's no problem"] she said lightly. She was kicking herself for thinking the woman had ditched out.]
[font "times new roman" She unlocked the jeep, and walked around to the driver's side. She climbed in, started up the jeep, and when Liz was inside, she rolled the windows down a little bit. [#C4788E "Is everything okay though?"] she asked. She pulled out of the parking spot, and headed towards where the Cafe was. It took them less than five minutes to get there, and the cafe was still open. It was a cute little place, and she knew she would have spent a lot of time there for sure.]
[font "times new roman" She parked in the spot, and shut the jeep off. She sat there for a moment longer, all of a sudden feeling nervous. She reached into the visor and pulled her own bucket list down. She then took off the sweater she was wearing off. Now that the sun was down, she could enjoy the cooler air. She tossed the sweater into the back seat, and was only wearing a black tank top. She unlocked the doors, and climbed out.]
[font "times new roman" She then made her way inside, and a woman looked up. [b "Welcome, how many of you tonight?"] she asked. [#C4788E "There's two of us, if possible a booth would be wonderful"] she spoke out. The woman nodded, and looked towards Liz. [b "Long time no see Liz, this your new girlfriend? She's hella pretty, make sure you hold onto this one"] she said with a small wink. Blakely's cheeks turned pink, as she chewed on the inside of her cheek. She wouldn't mind have a girlfriend, but this wasn't what she had pictured.]
[font "times new roman" She followed the woman to a booth in the corner and slid inside. [b "My name is Charlotte, and I will be the one taking care of you guys tonight. You are welcome to stay as long as you want as well"] she said with a warm smile. Blakely smiled a bit, as she picked up the menu. [#C4788E "Thank you"] she breathed out. Charlotte walked off winking at Liz again. Blakely kept her eyes on the menu, wishing that Charlotte hadn't put either of them on the spot like that. She just wanted to sink into the floor, and just vanish. She was nervous enough as it is, and that little girlfriend comment made it worse.]
[font "times new roman" She kept her eyes on the menu, not really seeing it, as she tried to calm her racing heart. She wasn't normally like this, but something about Liz drew this side out of her, and she kind of liked it, but knew better than to let it take over. [#C4788E "So what's good here?"] she asked, breaking the awkward silence.]
[right [pic https://i.imgur.com/skV13XB.jpg ]]
The static in her stomach intensified as the words spilled from the blonde creatures lips. Not only did this intriguing creature want to talk to her, she wanted to hang out for an extended period of time. It was a relief to her when she said that she would give her a ride.
[i "Yeah, I don't even have a car."]
A chuckle followed. It was very common for people in San Francisco to not have a car. Since most people live and work in the city, everyone takes public transit. She was pretty envious that Blakely was able to drive in this crazy city. As she spoke she, Blakely pulled her phone out and sent a quick text.
[b "I'm yours for the rest of the night.]
The words bounced around in Liz's head. This girl actually wanted to hang out and chat. No one had ever seen her list before so she was slightly nervous at the thought of sharing but the fact that it was mutual put her at ease. Liz nodded in apology to Fillipa as they were asked to leave.
[i "I have to set another appointment but I will meet you outside in just a couple minutes."]
A half smile spread across her face and she walked back to the front desk to make an appointment with her doctor, who was int he same building. It took a little longer than her expected so she quickly rushed to the lot and saw that she was still there! The small blonde was leaning against a jeep not too far from the front entrance. The sun had long gone down. It was hard to see the stars in the city but there was a couple that peeked through. It was such a nice breezy night.
[i "Hey, sorry I took so long. Thanks for giving me a ride, i appreciate it! The cafe is down on the corner of Van Ness and Chestnut street. They stay open pretty late so there is no rush."]
She said as apologetically as she approached, her bag in hand. Cold wind eneloped them and goosebumps spread across her skin. This was the reason she wanted to move here. The heat was always so terrible to her so somewhere colder like here was perfect.
[font "times new roman" The blonde seriously thought she would have been turned down. What kind of person would just randomly ask you out for coffee? Was it weird? Or was it just her? She bit the inside of her cheek lightly as she smiled a bit. [#C4788E "I think I know what coffee shop you are talking about. Did you drive? Or are you waiting for a ride? I wouldn't mind taking you, and then taking you home afterwards"] she said lightly. She didn't know if it was weird that she was doing that, but she wouldn't mind the company in the least.]
[font "times new roman" She bit the inside of her cheek lightly, as her eyes darted to the door, and then back to the beautiful red head before her. She felt her phone buzzing in her pocket, and she pulled it out reading the text message quickly. [b [i Hey Kitty, I'm sorry to do this, but I need to head out of town for awhile, and I know you and I were supposed to hang out, but I promise you I will meet up with you when I get home. Don't be too mad at me. I love you. Xoxo - Cloud.]] The message didn't bother the woman much at all. In a way she was happy about it.]
[font "times new roman" She hurried and typed a response back. [#C4788E [i Hey, don't worry about it. I'm just at group and I might be hanging out with a new friend anyway. Just stay safe, and let me know as soon as you get home. I love you too. Xoxo - Kitty.]] She hit send and then looked towards the female and broke out into a smile. [#C4788E "Just so happens, I'm yours the rest of the night. A friend of mine was supposed to meet up with me, but she's not going to be in town. So if you want we can just hang out at the coffee shop for awhile"] she offered. She hoped it wasn't too forward of her. That's when Fillipa walked over. [b "Ladies, I know it's going to sound rude of me, but you both need to leave. We are getting ready to close up"] she said lightly.]
[font "times new roman" Blakely nodded lightly. [#C4788E "Sorry ma'am"] she said with a sheepish smile. She then looked towards Liz, wondering if she would take her up on the offer. She didn't wait much longer though, as she turned and went back the way she had come, and went out to her jeep. She leaned against it, and wrapped her arms around herself. She looked up at the stars slowly popping out, and wondered what it would be like to have someone to cruise around with. She sighed lightly, as she looked down at the ground, waiting for Liz to join her. Unless she just wanted to go home, then she would understand.]
[right [pic https://i.imgur.com/skV13XB.jpg ]]
Bright blue eyes landed on Liz. For just a moment, her eyes met with the cat like eyes of the new woman. Red eyes shifted away quickly, realizing that she was starting to stare. The rest of the group went by at a very slow pace. She was acutely aware of the presence of this stranger.
[b "What about you sweetheart?"]
The question pulled Liz out of her own head. There weren't many people that hadn't talked yet. Her eyes slid over back to the girl. The nervous energy was pouring from her direction. She talked pretty quickly, but Liz was hanging on every word. Skin cancer. San Francisco is the worst place for this poor creature to be. A small shush spread through the crowd. Three months. That was not a long time to sit with news like this. People started to think of when they were first diagnosed.
[b "...Thats pretty much it."]
She added the last sentence and sat down. Fillipa waited a moment to make sure she was finished and then she clapped her hands a little. A congratulations to everyone who shared. She did her finishing speech, stating that the next group would be at the same place and time next week. Everyone stood and started to gather their things to leave. Liz slowly started to put her things back into her backpack when a familiar quick voice chimed behind her.
There was a nervous but lovely smile shining back at Liz when she turned to the voice. There she was. Standing right next to her. Talking to her. Liz looked behind her, thinking she was talking to someone else for a moment. The words that were spoken finally sank in.
[i "There is a cafe a block away if you aren't busy after this."]
The words came out coolly but her insides felt like the static you feel when your foot falls asleep. Though she was soft inside, her exterior seems to keep people at bay. There were a lot of stereotypes against demons that she usually could not escape. The horns outed her off the bat. And her tattoos and scars generally scared people off. And this girl, Blakely, seemed human, so it was even more strange that she would just walk right up to her.
[i "I take mine with me most places. Just in case."]
She added, pointing into her still open bag at a beatup notebook, which contained her list. She felt the need to just keep talking but stopped herself. She needed time to think carefully about each of her words. Too much time. Though there were only seconds between each sentence, it felt like an eternity to her. It had been a long time since someone, besides a doctor, wanted to talk to her. A smile forced its way onto her face, trying to seem friendly and open.
[font "times new roman" As the other's spoke about their treatments, their high's and lows Blakely couldn't help but feel bad for them. She could feel a set of eyes moving towards her once more, and this time she caught the woman's gaze with her own. She was a beautiful little thing, and she wouldn't mind getting to know her. She sat there as she listened, and when a bucket list was brought up, she felt her heart skip a beat. She had a bucket list too? Blakely was kind of getting more and more excited about that. How many other's had bucket lists too?]
[font "times new roman" That's when Fillipa asked if anyone else wanted to speak. Some of them did, and other's didn't. That's when Fillipa looked towards her. [b "What about you sweetheart? You haven't said a single word. You don't have too if you aren't comfortable with it"] she said lightly. The woman was slightly taken back at how warm, and sweet the older woman was. How could she turn that down now? She took a breath and nodded lightly. What other choice did she have? All eyes were on her now.]
[font "times new roman" [#C4788E "My name is Blakely, but a lot of people call me Blake, I was diagnosed with Skin Cancer about three months ago. That's why I'm wearing long sleeves, because the sun really irritates my skin, and makes me want to just dig my fingers into my skin, and scratch till there's nothing left. I'm twenty-two years old, and I do have a sibling whom I love more than anything. I guess you can say I'm trying to live my life the way I need to live it, instead of living in fear. There's so much more to this life that I want to explore"]]
[font "times new roman" [#C4788E "There's so much more that I want to see, and I wouldn't mind meeting the love of my life along the way either. So yeah.. That's me pretty much.."] she said lightly as she fell silent. The older woman broke out into a smile. [b "That was beautiful Blakely. I think you and Liz here would get along quite well"] she said. She then turned the attention off of Blakely, and she let out the breath she had been holding. She looked down at her hands, and she wished she hadn't come. She wanted nothing more than to be in her cat form right now.]
[font "times new roman" She could be inside her apartment, curled up on the couch with a fire going. Instead she was here. In a terrible place, talking about her whole life. She felt oddly naked just then. She didn't know why, and she hoped they were almost done. Not even five minutes later things were wrapping up and Fillipa was telling everyone to drive home safely, and they were welcome to hang around, and get to know some of the other's inside the group. Blakely was itching to get out of there, but something was stopping her, and that something was Liz. She didn't know why, but she was soon to find out.]
[font "times new roman" She stood and made her way over to the woman, and she broke out into a smile. [#C4788E "So.. I know this is weird, but I was wondering if you'd take the time to tell me more about your bucket list, what you have on it, and I'll do the same with mine. If not, you are more than welcome to call me a fucking nut case, and to leave you alone"] she said lightly. She hoped with everything in her being, that Liz wouldn't turn her away. She felt some type of connection to her, and she wanted to explore that feeling more. She shoved her hands into her pockets, wait for the beautiful creature to say something.]

[center [i December 12, 2018]]
Smoke drifted up from the cigarette between Liz's two fingers. It had been almost two months since she received the news that changed her life forever.
[b "Should you really be smoking?"]
Johnny asked, a smirk on his face. Even though he was smiling, it was obvious that he was serious and concerned. Liz was starting to get tired of people giving her shit about smoking.
[i "I] really [i dont give a shit at this point Johnny."]
The statement came out with a lot more venom than she intended. Johnny recoiled and then shrugged as he turned and walked back into the house through the glass door. A sigh mixed with smoke slipped out between her lips. Ever since she started treatment, she has been more agitated and snappy. It wasn't how she liked to be. Despite her resting bitch face, she tried her best.
[center [i Present day]]
People filed into the small room and sat down in all of the empty chairs that were in a circle. Fillipa started talking to others, finally leaving Liz to her thoughts. Liz looked up and noticed that half of the room was new people. this group had a revolving door. Most people only come for a short time. Max a couple months.
One of the new people caught Liz's eye. A female snuck into the room after Fillipa had gotten the group started. She was so quiet. She looked very nervous and that brought Liz back to her first time coming here. She was so worried about being late that she arrived one hour early and sat in her car until it was time. This thought made her laugh to herself a little. It was so silly.
[b "I think that is everyone! Let us get started. We have quite a few new people so we will just start with intro stories. You don't have to talk if you dont want too but I do recommend it."]
They started going around the room, talking about when they were diagnosed and what treatments they have done so far. And just a little about themselves. It was interesting to hear such different stories have similarities. Everyone was so different from each other. Different species, different diseases, different looks, different ages but all of the same types of struggles.
[b "Liz, do you want to go?"]
Fillipa pulled her out of her thoughts, which she commonly got lost in.
[i "Sure. Hello everyone, I am Eliza but I go by Liz. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor about a year ago. Ive done a couple different treatments, but no results just yet. I am not going to lie, I am starting to go through my bucket list a lot faster. I think I am running out of time."]
Her voice cracked on the last word. Some of the people in the group nodded, understanding the feelings that Liz was experiencing.
[i "But on a lighter note, my photography business is still going good and I still can enjoy all of the music i want. Oh, and I have been smoking less."]
She said with a laugh. Fillipa sighed loudly with disappointment.
[b "We will talk about that later. Okay, whos next?"]
Liz put her hand over her mouth so she didn't laugh out loud at Fillipa mothering her. She listened to everyone else tell their struggles and triamps. She found her eyes wandering over to the girl who came in late. She was very interesting but Liz could not put her finger on it.

[font "times new roman" [b "Blakely I'm sorry to inform you, but you can't live in the sun like you used too. Your skin can't handle it anymore. You my darling girl have skin cancer"] the doctor said. The blue eyed blonde looked up towards him. Her heart dropping into her stomach. [#C4788E "Excuse me? I have [i skin cancer]?"] she asked, the tone of her voice kind of cold. The male nodded lightly. [b "Yes sweetheart you do. It's something that can be caused by being in the sun too much, and seeing as you live in California, you live in the outdoors, am I right?"] he asked. The woman nodded lightly, trying to let the words sink in. She had cancer, and she felt like her whole world was going to fall apart.]
[font "times new roman" [b "There are some things you can do to take care of it, and make sure it doesn't get worse"] he said. She kind of tuned out after that. She had a so called disease, and she couldn't be out in the sun anymore. She looked down at her hands, and kind off understood why her skin itched, and why she was always so drained. She just never thought it would be like this. She looked up when the male touched her shoulder, and the tears started to fall. [b "If you would like I can give you a list of doctors, and you can try and move to where it's not so sunny"] he offered. What other choice did the woman have?]
[font "times new roman" She took the information he offered her, thanked him for his time, and left. She made her way out to her car, and just sat there. She called her father out in Florida, and broke down into sobs. [#C4788E "Daddy, I have skin cancer"] she sobbed into the phone. He's been trying to get her to move out there, because he knew how much she loved being in the sun. The male tried calming her down, but it wasn't really working. Blakely felt like her whole world was gone, and she couldn't do anything about it. When she was calm enough, she hung up, and headed back home to pack her things. Trying to look forward to her new chapter of life.]
[center [font "times new roman" [b [i ~*~ Present Day ~*~]]]]
[font "times new roman" The day was finally here. She was supposed to be going to a [i Support] group her doctor told her about. She was doing well enough with the creams he's been giving her, to help clear up the small patches on her skin. She had moved to a whole new town, and started all over again. She never dreamed she would have done this. She was alone, her mother wasn't in the picture anymore, and hasn't been in years. Her father lived in Jacksonville Florida, and she had been living with her grandmother the last couple of years. She had been working on becoming an actress, but that wasn't working well, and now here she was.]
[font "times new roman" She looked at the time on her phone, and let out a small groan. She might as well get going. She hurried and got dressed. She pulled on a black tank top, and slipped her arms though a black and white plaid shirt. She buttoned it up a little bit, but you could still see the tank top under it. She then thought about putting her hair into a ponytail and decided against it. She found her favorite ball cap, and placed it onto her head. She might as well protect her neck the best she could, and the bill of the cap covered most of her face. She then found her sun glasses, and slid them onto her face as well.]
[font "times new roman" She was finally ready to go, and she grabbed her apartment keys, along with phone and wallet. The only phone number's she had were her family. She didn't have many friends, and she was okay with that. She liked being in her own little world. She walked out of the apartment and locked the door behind her. That's when she felt someone tap her on the back. She looked over her shoulder, and spotted Jenny, and smiled lightly. [#C4788E "Well hi sweetheart, how are you?"] she asked. The teenager smiled back. [b [i "I'm doing okay. Are you heading to the hospital?"]] she asked. Blakely nodded lightly.]
[font "times new roman" [#C4788E "Yes, it's support group tonight. My doctor wants me going, and learning about other's. Why? Mom's out drinking again, and I don't want to be alone"]] she admitted. [#C4788E "Yeah I would love too. I'll see what time I'm done in group, and so when I get home I'll head over there. Sound good?"] she asked. Jenny nodded and hugged her gently. [b [i "Thank you Blakely"]] she whispered, then let her go. Blakely smiled lightly and nodded.]
[font "times new roman" She checked the time, and knew she was going to be late. She then booked it down the hallway, and out the doors. The joys of having a ground level apartment. She found and unlocked her car, slid inside and started it up. She lived about ten minutes away from the hospital, and she hoped she wouldn't be too late. She backed out the parking spot, and headed onto the busy street. As she drove to the hospital, was when her nerves started to kick in. She didn't want to do this, but her doctor told her it would be good for her.]
[font "times new roman" Ten minutes later she was pulling into the parking lot, and booking it to the room where group was being held. She could hear people talking, and she slipped into the room, closing the door quietly behind her. She made sure to keep her head ducked, and she moved to an empty chair. Her heart was hammering inside of her chest, and she tried to calm herself down. She kept her glasses on, along with her cap, and didn't look up at all, hoping no one would make her talk. She knew it wasn't going to happen though, but so far no one noticed her, and she liked it that way.]
[font "times new roman" She sat there listening as other's spoke about their illnesses, and her heart broke listening to them. So in a way she wasn't alone in this. Maybe this would be a good thing after all. She didn't know how well she would do, but for now she was good with just listening, and not commenting.]

[b "I'm sorry, there is nothing we can do."]
These words hit like a semi-truck. Inoperable. What a stupid word. Liz had to look it up as soon as she left the hospital. There was a tumor somewhere inside her brain, apparently the size of a golf ball. A hand moved to her forehead, she felt around for a moment, thinking maybe she could feel it. But she could not. Why was this happening to her? Everyday doctors performed miracles of science but they couldn't pull a little golf ball out of her head? A laugh escaped her lips, surprising even herself.
[i "This is karma, isn't it?"]
She asked out loud to herself. The laugh continued to bubble up and before she knew it, she was laughing and crying. It was so ironic. All her life, she tried to be a good person. She volunteered at shelters during the holidays, gave money whenever she could and even helped friends move anytime they needed it. If she even got cancer, she assumed it would be in her lungs.
After she stopped laughing, she lit up a cigarette and took a long drag. She guessed it didn't even matter now. She was going to die, but they didn't know when. The doctors gave her many pamplets. Some for treatments, some for support groups and even some for different medications they can try. Did she even want to try?
[center [i Present Day]]
Its been one year since Liz was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Through various treatments, she has tried to maintain her optimism. The current treatment she was on was making her sick. She knew it would but it was worse than she though. She was weak all the time and always felt as though she was in a fog. It was starting to affect her school. She had to miss class a lot, but her professors were more than understanding and always gave her more time. But sometimes it was just to much.
[i "Its finally Wednesday."]
Liz said to herself as she looked down at the bullet journal in front of her. There were so many appointments written down in the journal. Every Wednesday had the words 'Support' with a small heart next to it. she found out about the group around 5 months ago, through her doctor.
[b "Are you getting ready to leave?"]
The male voice brought her out of her thoughts and she turned to see her room mate, Johnny. They had been room mates ever since Anna moved to San Francisco. They found each other through craigslist and the rest is history. Liz would say that he was her best friend.
[i "Yes. I have treatment and then the group right after. So I will be home late."]
There was a smile in her voice as she talked about the group. This made Johnny smile. It was rare that Anna showed any sort of happiness. And he was so relieved when she found a group that knew what she was going through. As her best friend, he felt a moral responsibility to take care of her. But he could not even understand what she was going through, let alone help make her feel better.
[b "Ill leave leftovers for you."]
Johnny said as he walked out the front door, she assumed to work. Anna looked back down and sighed. It was time to get going. She packed all of the items that she needed and then headed out, grabbing her keys and bus pass as she passed them. It was about a 30 minute bus ride to the hospital.
[b "Hello Eliza! It is good to see you again. You can go on back."]
The red headed nurse said, a huge smile on her face. Liz had seen her a couple of times, but could not remember her name. She walked past the desk and was hooked up to the various machines that she needed for treatment. She put her headphones in so she could listen to music as she waited. A soft melody started to fill her ears and she left herself drift off.
Before she knew it, it was over and she headed over to group, which was in a different wing of the same hospital. As she opened to door, she noticed there were already a couple people waiting. She was about 5 minutes early. She took a seat in one of the chairs that were laid out in a circle.
[b "Good to see you again Eliza. We will be getting some new members today, isn't that exciting?"]
The brunette who ran the group, Nurse Filipa, said with excitement in her voice. She always loved getting new people. She loved to help. Liz smiled, though she was not too excited. It meant there would be an introduction day. Where everyone gets to know each other. She hated having to say things interesting about herself like they were in school or something. It was ridiculous.
