"Dougal kens nothing of this plan?" Colum asked too calmly. "And if anything would happen to Jamie? What would I say to my sister in the next life?"
Jamie regarded him for a moment. "To honor the Fraser and MacKenzie name."
Colum sighed and nodded. "Two weeks..."
[b "A more idiotoc and inexperienced captain would give a better chance."] Kelsey chimed in softly and turned sparkling blue eyes on the old man. She knew this was a bad add in and Jamie might kill her for it. [b "Give us a week...that's all we are asking for to try and get the man removed.."]
"Oh, aye, and while ye'll enjoying the city we are left without a warrior. I cannae allow this to happen," Colum snapped.
"If Black Jack were removed, another more...idiotic captain could be put in place," Jamie said with a smile.
[b "Jamie knows to stay out of sight and how to hide. He has learned in the last few years... And I would be the one making the dealings. No one suspects a English woman..."] Kelsey added softly.
And she did move forward, motioning to the table. From the rubbing of his back, the young woman knew that his pain was much worse than he was trying to let on.
[b "It has to be worth the try... God knows he has wronged so many and deserves to pay for that..."]
"Ye ask me to let a fugitive- with the attentions of the Dragoons- to travel?" Colum rubbed his back, his tone rising. "What business could ye have that'd warrant that risk?"
"To have Black Jack Randall exposed and removed," Jamie answered simply. "We would go to Ned Gowan and use a printing press."
[b "We understand your displeasure."] Kelsey said, answering the barked out Gaelic. It was time he that he knew she spoke both languages.
And she did take a step forward, holding the medicine out as a kind of peace offering. [b "After the gathering.. We ask that you let us go on a journey.. there is something we must do.. But only with your blessing."] She said softly.
Jamie passed her a not convinced look before entering. Despite being barked at he remained resolute.
"Uncle, we wish to discuss a business matter with ye," he said clearly.
Colum answered in angry Gaelic before glare. "Well, what is it, lad? And sassenech..?"
She should not have had the sparkle in her eyes or the soft smirk to her lips. [b "You don't like bears? This just became more interesting.."] The man reminded her of her father and elder brother on bad days. So it did not scare her as it should.
[b "Only if you are."] She said softly, giving his hand a quick squeeze. It amazed her to see Jamie like a child...that stiff posture of his now when about to face his uncle.
"It seems our hard work...will become much more of a struggle with a bear. Aye, shall ee, lass?" He asked taking a deep breath. The man was twenty-three and his uncles still terrified him. "Shall we?"
Colum was still growling around in the fine Lord's Chamber. Poor Hamish went off hours ago.
Kelsey had been looking after the usual few and waiting for the Colum to want her to come to him for his medicine. The times varied based upon when the pain was intolerable or he deemed it needed. Something she had learned within the first week at Castle Leoch.
A soft smile was given to Jamie when she saw him and she kissed his chin. It had been as quick as his to her forehead, lest anyone see.
[b "I do have it. He asked for it specifically...and I know. A right prick about it.."] She whispered, slowly moving to Jamie's side.
God she felt horrid for the robe maker as the door opened and the man rushed out. Clearly getting a good bite.
Jamie remained with Dougal for a part of the morning much to his annoyance. With his mysterious disappearance earlier than expected, the course was clear. He kissed her forehead before making his way forward.
"Do ye have the medicine?" He asked softly. "He can be a...ornery...at times."
A small smile came to her lips as she kissed him again. [b "Dougal will hate me more than he does. Tomorrow he is dismissed until we speak with Colum.."] She whispered.
And she did pulled back, standing and fixing her hair and skirt. [b "Until the morning... I love you.."] With those last words, Kelsey made her way back, using the passages that Jamie had shown her. Anyone knew, it would be their heads..Though she was not sure if that was figuratively or literally.
"Yer the healer, ye can help him. We'll do that," Jamie kissed her again. "Tomorrow in the morning by the Lord's Chambers."
She had asked that he take her and he did. His kisses and hands..all of him was home and she was sure she had NEVER been made to feel this way before. Never wanted to stop feeling this way.
[b "I love you too...and I know.. But I also don't want to leave you either.."] Came her soft words after having been together the second time that night.
Slowly she brushed his hair again. [b "Tomorrow..? Get to Colum before Dougal does? Because if he does first...we haven't a prayer.."] The young woman muttered.
"Then yer mine..." Jamie gripped her butt for a moment.
For a second time he had her with reckless abandon. This felt right, he melted into her. Each kiss felt like fire and yet home. "I love ye...but ye need to get back."
