[center [b He blinked before chuckling softly she seemed rather okay with his deception. She seemed more curious on how he did it.]]
[center [+blue I suppose I can share lassy, your right.. A passive skill wouldn't make sense. No it's an item and it doesn't work on those to close to my level so I'm sure that Arthur fellow knew as well.]]
[center [b She took a drink as she continued her conversation with the pirate. He nodded a moment as he took a drink of his own.]]
[center [+blue Aye, perhaps you do have my back? However.. You should be thinking what you want. I do owe you one for helping me out.]]
[center [b Styles was being a bit vague but it was clear he had no interest in the contest. He had.. Other plans and it was rather shady. Amaria did him a favor rather than leaving him for dead. He'd pay that debt back no doubt. Still? She was too kind for the work he had planned. Not that he minded that aspect of her truly. It was almost.. Refreshing. Still he had his own goals that went beyond just enjoying this game. Winning the contest wasn't realistic but their were other ways one could benefit from this.]]
[center [b As they were heading back he made a playful gesture of calling it a date. She froze on the spot almost like a deer caught in headlines. Much like a frightened animal she put her foot down rather fierce. He couldn't help but let another chuckle escape his lips.]]
[center [+blue Haha you are adorable. From that reaction though you've gotta be younger than I imagined.]]
[center [b He was teasing but she got rather worked up about it and he just found it too precious.]]
[center [+blue I'd say.. Highschool? Well it's probably better to focus on school. As friends huh? Haha, lass your reading a lot into one "Date"]]
[center [b He couldn't help but laugh again. He never had a reaction like that at his flirty behavior. As the two headed back she asked Styles how old he was. He stopped in his tracks as his smile slowly faded. Before placing a hand on his chin almost as if he had to ponder on what his own age was.]]
[center [+blue A little personal wouldn't you say lass? Those are the kind've questions you'd save for a date ya know? Savvy~]]
[center [b He smirked and left it at that. "Friends huh?" Styles may end up disappointing her on that end. The idea seemed nice it did but... Well it was hard to explain. The two started to head back through the forest to the ship. However on the way back Styles had placed a hand up to stop Amaria. He saw it.. Rotting flesh but it wasn't human flesh.]]
[center [+blue Monster bait, that's used either for powerleveling or.. Not that bait is too potent. Someone laid it here as a trap.]]
[center [b One could hear a rather arrogant voice in the bushes though he remained hidden.]]
[center [+red That's what you get Mr white kn-! Oh.. It's just you two... Wait a second... Why do I recognize you... Oh yeah when I was asking about that dumb knight! I heard he came in with a pirate and thief! Figures my buddy wouldn't show up now... Well.. Maybe I can get that knight back by having monsters maul them.]]
[center [+blue You are rather simple minded aren't you? Revealing the entire hand you play? A decent strategist would keep most of that stuff to himself. Besides that Arthur fellow is no friend of mine.]]
[center [+red What!? Hey I can say whatever I want to out loud! It's a freaking game! Okay so what?!]]
[center [+blue So you always wanted to do evil villain monologues? Is that it lad? You can't be very old from the way you speak. Thirteen? Fourteen? Shouldn't your parents have raised you to be more polite?]]
[center [+red That's it! I don't care if you aren't him! I'm not disabling the bait! His friend or not you piss me the hell off!]]
[center [+blue Haha fine by me but your next lad. Sorry lass it seems I've got you caught up in a fight here.]]
[center [+red She doesn't have to fight! Let me see.. Your names Amaria? Damn your avatar looks fine! Do you have a boyfriend?]]
[center [+blue Pfft, so that's how it is huh? I think she'd rather take being mauled to death even if it hurt just as bad. Than whatever it is your implying lad.]]
[center [+red Hey let her answer okay! Come with me I'll be an awesome boyfriend you don't need this loser!]]
[center [b Before he could continue his offer screaming could be heard. It seemed beast had found him in the forest and had started to maul and devour the boy. An electronic voice could be heard throughout the forest.]]
[center [+yellow "Danger danger the area has been deemed a yellow zone until further notice."]]
[center [+blue Dumbass! Monsters don't avoid you just cause you set up the bait. He really thought they'd just kill his enemies? Forget that.. Amaria we gotta run. Yellow zones.. Aren't in any strategy books for a reason. They are.. Honestly kinda shady we don't wanna fight like this.]]
[center [b Styles turned and heard rustling in bushes all right his back pressed against Amaria's.]]
[center [+blue Crap.. We can't run off recklessly we don't know what's around us. If you need to.. Leave me behind got it? I'm serious. Don't think I'm like that white knight either lassy. I owe you one it's as simple as that! If I give you an opening you take it! Yellow zones.. Allow the players to feel a portion of pain realistic to the damage taken. True it's not at full extent it can be anywhere from twenty to fifty percent. Still from that kid's screams? You can tell it won't be... Pleasant. [google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Courgette:400,700] After Robin left, Amaria finally brought up what she was waiting to talk to Zack about. Although he shared his reasons and everything, it still felt personal that he thought that’d turn her away. As a captain, he did have to consider recruiting and the morale of his crew… If they knew and still saw how quickly he went down from the serpent, they might not have made it to the island. A level 1 getting knocked out versus a level 5 is very different in the beginning. So many already thought they were in over their heads and it was just the first day… but still… She wasn’t scared and she wasn’t going to storm off because of something like luck. It was something useful. All the rare info from earlier must have been from that. So, why would she hate him for it? First day or not, she thought she was clear enough with at least that stuff...
[#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Yeah, it gave away and then re-gifted itself with a pretty bow. In your story from earlier. Not even including your actual level and weapon… You said you gained one level on the way. Though your info has your jump from 1 to 3."]]] She took a moment, just looking at him. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “How are you able to hide your level anyway? Is it a Pirate skill? Though that wouldn’t make much sense as a passive…”]]] Lifting her empty glass and pointing it at him, [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “I get outlaws having secrets. This isn’t my first time playing as a Thief. Trust and truth are a bit more abstract in our class description. Still…”]]] Amaria leaned back, raising the glass to her mouth. Glancing down, she set it back on the table and sighed. Looking back at him, [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “It still sucks you didn’t believe I’d have your back on this… Well, now that I know anyway, guess you can find that out."]]]
Zack and her patched things up and moved on to the latest commotion as they headed out. It was fun to help and mess with him at the same time. He was sweet and her jokes would most likely go over the NPC’s head anyway. So, it was harmless fun. It was just nice to laugh and move onto something lighter.
She continued to keep things light after catching up to Zack. After seeing the armor she was looking at, he even mentioned he had something better in mind. They were just going to head back to the ship first. That sounded great, but one word threw off everything: [b date].
[#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Uhhh, sorry. You're cool and everything… I don't date people I don't know… Online and all."]]] Wow, she wasn't expected that. Their avatars were virtual, but still… She took a moment think and continued. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Instead, it’d be a great time to share more about how your level details work as we head back. As friends?"]]]
As much as it didn't make any sense... For some reason she imagined that Zack was actually a 40-something year old creep living in an abandoned warehouse trying to get some excitement by tricking teenage girls and boys to come by for some ice cream. Realistically, the odds of that being the case were really low. But stranger danger was a thing for a reason. Though he was a fun guy to hang around, if he truly was a guy… but he did seem cool. Though don't a lot serial killers seem cool? Outside of being a serial killer part. [I [Courgette [size16 I need to stop watching crime shows and dramas. At least for a while.]]]
As Amaria calmed down, the scenario went away. Although she had been wrong about things earlier, even if he was like that, it wasn't like he knew her name or address or anything. Back to online reality. He most likely wasn't a serial killer, like 99.999% sure he wasn't. Even in school, she never really handled being asked out well... by well, it was more like at all. It was just transferring here. Though there was one thing she really wanted to know. This was the perfect chance. Whether he was going to answer honestly or not, she had one question she had to ask. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “By the way… How old are you anyway?”]]]
[center [h3 Meetings and Farewells]]
[center [b Styles had enjoyed his meal. It was crazy how the game stimulated the body's sense of touch and taste to simulate such a fine meal. Amaria had suggested they go window shopping and she had also told the captain to not show his feelings about NPC's. "Not like typical NPC's?" he looked at her for a moment before chuckling. Despite disagreeing with her he liked she shared her strong opinions.]]
[center [+blue If you say so first mate.]]
[center [b Robin seemed happy by Amaria's farewell and Styles had chuckled a bit. "Her too huh?" She had asked Zack if the NPC's played some role in the main quest.]]
[center [+blue Aye, I doubt all of them can as their are a lot of heroes. Though a hero summoner? That is a first for me so who knows. They will aim to defeat the Black Beast much like us. Course being an NPC I doubt they can pull it off obviously.]]
[center [b As the situation unfolded Amaria had told it was funny how he had answers for everything except for talking to NPC's.]]
[center [+blue Aye lass I wouldn't say I've got an answer for everything. Hmm? Told- Oh.. Aye that little tid bit. Mate.. Look it wasn't personal I suppose I was just being cautious. It gave away that well.. I had gotten lucky in that contest of early access. Those who played 24 hours early? We got no competition for the good grinding spots and some may hate me for such luck. It'd hinder forming a crew.]]
[center [+blue As for that other part.. About hero's leveling like us? They level faster than us but the problem is? If they die? That's it their gone no respawns for them.]]
[center [b Styles had chuckled at Amaria's stifled laugh before she introduced her full name to Arthur and the NPC. Arthur had smiled and thanked her for the save.]]
[tangerine [size30 [center Thanks! That's a pretty name.. I mean for your Avatar of course.]]]
[center [b Styles smirked as Amaria told him that Arthur couldn't help it. Right afterwards she had teased him. She seemed confused what PG was only tilting her head but Arthur was flustered.]]
[tangerine [size30 [center N-No! Amaria that's weird! She's like an AI! No robo waifu's!]]]
[center [b He chuckled rubbing under his nose as he gave Amaria a thumbs up. He was glad she'd keep an eye out for Nun the more the better. As she turned to check out the shop eyeing the items she wanted Styles laughed.]]
[center [+blue Yah yah lass I missed ya. Yer looking pretty intently on those items I see. Oh are you wondering how much I missed you?]]
[center [b He teased pointing at the items with a chuckle.]]
[center [+blue So you wanna head back to the ship together lass? We can call it a date. To make it up to ya, course I've got something better in mind to repay that debt. Well.. More so I'm working on a nice way to.]]
[center [b He stretched with a loud yawn the captain hadn't really thought of the implications of calling such a stroll a date. It was clear he had some years on Amaria at least if one was to compare the avatars. Though by his attitude he didn't seem that of a flustered teen. It wasn't something he paid much heed to when saying it. Though what he had paid more mind to was how he was going to really pay her back. He wasn't sure how he was gonna do that quite yet.]]
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Courgette:400,700] Calling Arthur the toughest he met so far made sense. It took a lot to level up in this game. Arthur being level 5 already must have taken some serious grinding, and for Zack to reach level 6? It was hard to believe. She didn't pay it much mind, but Amaria could have sworn his level was 1 on the ship.
Although she just said it, how could he still be alive after killing so many beasts spawns to raise it that high. He'd need a lot of potions for that and those didn't seem easy to come by in Drevin. Bought or not. He must have had a lot of help. Of course. That had to be it.
However his reply shot all of that down. [I [Courgette [size16 From level 5 to 6? Wow. So that's how it was.]]] Looking at his level now, it said 3. His cutlass that he's had this whole time, Level 5.
That took a moment to take in. His class was a Pirate. He seemed to take on the role pretty well, and honesty was definitely not in the job description. But as his first mate, she didn't think he'd keep something like that a secret from her. And he easily got caught in it too. And there was so much against him, there was no way for him to talk his way out of it. Before it was too obvious that got to her, she smiled and replied, [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Yeah, equipment sounds great. We can go after our meal."]]]
Healing up this time barely took 10 minutes. Not much time to sleep on what just happened. Before she knew it, Robin had the staff bring out the best meals in the entire temple… They tasted like it too. She had shrimp alfredo with steamed broccoli.
The fish was tender and flavorful, with plenty of it throughout the dish. The veggies were fresh without tasting like they came out the ground and merely flew over the pan or just left there and forgotten. The side bread, it had to have just come out of the oven. They were in a game but it was like she was actually eating and drinking. She even got an ale served in a fancy-looking pint glass.
She wasn't sure about the overall quality, but figured it was more than the beer in those red plastic cups at house parties... Well, at the ones that just used beer. Her friends went to those way more than she did, so they could probably taste the difference. Though it was weird comparing the quality of everything when none of this was truly real. Though that did mean she wouldn't have to sneak past her mom and dad.
As their virtual host walked up to the table, Amaria looked up to thank him for treating them to all of this. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Yes, this is Capt. Styles. We will. I noticed a bit of that from the villagers back in Drevin. Of course it wouldn't."]]]
When Robin said they could use pigeon mail to communicate, Arthur voiced the same question in her head. Luckily Zack, had an answer for it. He always had answers… Amaria started paying more attention to her drink. It wasn't bad. Robin and him were going back and forth. It made sense to be really caught off guard. She was too and just started wrapping her head around it. He wasn't taking it too well though. Arthur was doing damage control. This was getting even more irritating.
It was just getting worse. Zack just tried to verbally end any interactions with Robin. Though he wasn't even part of the quest and there wasn't a party to begin with. So even if that was voice activated, he was pretty much shooing him away. Arthur was right. That was rude. Even if Robin was a normal NPC, that was disrespectful to Arthur and her, who actually did the quest. It was worse because that wasn't the case. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Zack, relax. NPCs aren't typical NPCs here. Just like this game isn't a typical game. As weird as it is, there's a lot that's weird here. That's one of the selling points. We've adapted so far and it's been fun, right?"]]]
[#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Perfect timing. Thank you, Robin. Good luck to you too."]]] As he went off, Amaria noticed the guy in the hood. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Fun contact."]]]
Turning back to the other two, they started talking about the Summoner with a party member that wasn't a player. Turns out they're called heroes of the land. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “If they can level up like us and have classes that we don't, then are they supposed to play some role in this main quest?]]]
All three of them remained silent for a moment when that conversation wrapped up. Arthur and Zack seemed to be in their own worlds and Amaria decided to check those unread DMs. Both from Nun. [I [Courgette [size16 So he was heading out to Drevin with a party… and looking for a warrior named Arthur–]]] A sudden clang from across the room interrupted that thought. Some sort of altercation. It didn't seem like it was going to travel. So, she was about to ask Arthur to verify if he knew Nun, but he was completely engrossed in whatever was going on.
There was no reason to prolong the conversation anymore. Amaria brought her cup to her mouth and took a sip, glaring at Styles. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Funny how you have answers for everything else except NPC interactions… and, well, one other thing."]]] After setting the beer glass down, it was obvious there wasn't much left. As she debated on ordering a new one, apparently things got worse and Arthur got up to play knight in shining armor. Now it was even easier to talk. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “You know, if you told me… Even if you got caught, it wouldn't have been so miserably."]]]
Although the elephant in the room was finally being talked about, it wasn't long before Arthur created a whole new one. Amaria wasn't sure what was going on over by the bar. But now everyone in the temple knew what Arthur was into. She tried so hard not to laugh, but only managed to stifle it. No doubt, this was definitely the Arthur Nun mentioned.
As a fight was about to break out, she rested her hand on her fire dagger in case he needed help. However, two people stepped in between that. They were those heroes of the land. The summoner wasn't a player, but one of those NPCs. And her partner was also one. Both were level 10. After the Berserker showed a bit of his power, the whole thing was over. Amaria didn't blame them one bit for leaving. Right or wrong, wouldn't want to fight him. Although she was keeping an eye and ear out for Arthur, but she wasn't too worried he'd need help. That show of power was what got her full attention in the whole thing.
As the whole thing wrapped up, she was ready to move on. Zack was getting up and commented on sir Arthur and the fair lady he helped. Amaria laughed, [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “It seems you're right."]]]
As they walked over, he was stammering over introductions. He seemed caught on her last name. She had one, but didn't care too much if it was used… but he seemed to needed a little help [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “It's Marie, Amaria Marie. And Arthur here is a super cool warrior. Great guy."]]] That was when Zack chimed in with a comment and Arthur freaked out. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “You cant blame him after that whole scene. It's okay. We'll keep an eye out for a Maid Cafe for you. Just keep it PG,"]]] she said teasingly before walking towards the exit.
While on her way to look at merch, she heard Arthur call out to her and shared he was heading out to help out the NPC lady. Amaria didn't catch her name. He also mentioned to keep an eye out for Nun and pass a message to him. She was going to tell him she already met Nun and he already asked to pass a similar message along… but that probably would have delayed things for the AI Warrior. So she decided not to. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “I'll make sure I pass that along, if I can. Looking forward to those quests. Good luck to you too.]]] She returned the handshake. [I [Courgette [size16 You're both super dorky, but that makes it fun.]]]
After he walked away she sent a message to Nun. [#e3164c [Courgette [i “Hey, sorry for the really long delay. I'm at the Drevin Temple and was partnered with your friend on a quest. He's on a new escapade to Trigleph. He'll be waiting for you there, but I'd let him have some fun on his own a bit longer. Congrats on the party! Hope we can all join up soon. Good luck traveling."]]]
Amaria finally made her way to the merchants where Zack was, eyeing a red glove and a tent. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Did you miss me, Cap?"]]]

[center [+purple Does... This world also have the Black Beast?]]
[tangerine [size30 [center Err.. Robin gee I don't know if I'm qualified to answer these.. Really hard questions. Oh Amaria yeah there's no rush! We can heal up and maybe look for our friends. If you need any help ever though I wouldn't mind dropping by.]]]
[center [b It was than the captain had dropped by and the lot had conversed it seemed Robin was gonna pay for the meal. Maybe he'd join after doing his research?]]
[tangerine [size30 [center Yeah we could eat but I'll think I'll go window shopping after this. Is this the heavy hitting friend that needed healing? He seems pretty tough.]]]
[center [+blue I could check out the other merchant here myself. Me? Tough? Heh.. I'd say your the toughest player I've seen so far. Thanks for keeping an eye on my first mate. I owe her big time.]]
[center [b Toughest huh? The way Styles had shrugged and smiled made Arthur wonder. Was the man being truly modest? Or was it something else? Was it really okay to doubt Amaria's friend like that? How did he get hurt so badly anyway? Not that LV 6 is mega high but leveling in Black Beast? Is rather tough but at the same time rewarding too. There is a big difference between a LV 1 and a LV 6 more than most RPG's.]]
[center [+blue Huh? My Black Beast spawn massacre? The level I gained on the way here you mean? Well getting from level 5 to 6 was tougher than I expected. Aye Amaria checking out equipment could prove fruitful. After our meal right? I think I heard your NPC offer to pay right?]]
[center [b Arthur felt bad about Robin paying but he offered right? And.. He was a person of the la- An NPC so it wasn't that bad right? Robin had came over helping the party enter the temple. The music in that temple was rather peaceful and relaxing. They had a fancy eatery too and despite the atmosphere it was only 100 gald. [center [+purple You did well, I take it this.. Pirate is your friend? Although I am not one to judge Thieves and Pirates you should be careful. Those of my kind can be quite wary of these. Though it's said Thieves have a certain charm so to speak. Not that it would.. Affect a scholar like me.]]
[center [b Robin cleared his throat slightly averting his eyes as he began to eat and sit with the bunch.]]
[center [+purple I'll be leaving here once my contact arrives but feel free to use pigeon mail to keep touch.]]

[center [+blue Huh?? What the hell is wrong with your guys NPC? They ain't supposed to be asking weird questions like that.]]
[center [+purple Does my curiosity bother you? Pirate? That is.. What's it called. Your class right?]]
[center [+blue The hell?]]
[center [b Styles seemed rather shocked at the NPC's behavior or it's strange self awareness. It had to be programmed as a joke NPC right? Robin held his stomach laughing.]]
[center [+purple It's funny seeing adventurers respond when I speak of such things. Are people of the land not only seen as less than human but lacking the ability to learn? Or to ask questions?]]
[center [b Styles had spat his drink all over the place looking at Robin rather shocked. Arthur had smiled weakly putting his hands up.]]

[center [+blue Yeah NPC's that gain the ability to level up as quickly as adventurers lad.]]
[center [b Styles had realized something at that moment. Something the groggy pirate had forgotten. Or perhaps it wasn't simply he was groggy. He had gone to the tavern before to see if you can get drunk in this world. Maybe it worked? Maybe it hadn't but he was hiding his level from Amaria and here Arthur saw right through it. Suppose Arthur was too high level for that item to deceive and here he told her the trip only gained him a single level. No wonder she must have thought he went off. Perhaps Styles would ask her to keep it from the crew? It didn't seem to bother her at all but she probably had questions. Should he just explain to her everything?]]

[center [+blue Hmm.. Except they have access to unique classes we do not. Though I know this game will be likely to add some classes for the adventurers. One of the two is a Berserker I believe. Both LV 10 it seems they can grow fast.]]
[center [b Styles had taken a swig of his drink as Arthur pondered for a moment. Styles too was thinking of a solution to his mistake. However it wasn't long before there was a commotion in the bar. Arthur turned to see if Robin was okay but it seemed he had already left. That was good but it seemed it was a few players. Arthur had checked his status and it seemed him and Amaria were fully healed. It was those guys again both at LV 2. A Swordsman and a Ranger with a pistol. Seems those LV 1 guys had taken the time to get a little stronger. However they were up to no good again. [center [+red You can't fake a status they haven't released Illusion magic and if they did? A Black Mage would probably use it and a player.]]

[center [b Arthur had laughed a little with a shrug. It had been awhile since he was really himself and shouted what he wanted to shout at people. It was nice to be his own strange self. [center [+teal It must have been a good quest reward to help out such a sudden stranger.]]
[tangerine [size30 [center No he couldn't give me anything really. He owed Robin the scholar we took here a favor. He just... Seemed like a nice man with a nice family. [center [b The woman had stared at Arthur in disbelief. Arthur had tilted his head in a rather goofy manner. He was confused why she was staring at him like that. Staring in those beautiful blue doe eyes had caught Arthur by surprise. Turning away as he blushed again he realized. He was getting flustered over an AI! He's as bad as the guys in Japan taking robot waifu's if he lets this get him all flustered. She just seemed.. Adorable though. She had taken a deep breath and looked to Arthur with a fiery gaze. [center [b She had giggled over the man stumbling over his words. He was so eager to rush into a fight for a stranger. With no fear before even shouting strange things. To get flustered now over one misstep of a word to her? It was endearing she had smiled at him.]]

[center [+teal Oh gosh where are my manners. My name is Emilia Valen I am so sorry. It all happened so fast I forgot to introduce myself.]]

[tangerine [size30 [center Hey Amaria! I'm sorry but I gotta.. Well I gotta do this. If you see my friend somehow let me know. I mean I know it's not likely but I'll try and message him that too. I plan on doing more quest with you later though! After this and I find those guys probably! Good luck on leveling!]]]
[center [b Arthur had offered Amaria a handshake. He was a but shy to but smiling all the same. Amaria had been a really good party member and he was glad he got to meet her. She was resourceful, fast, pretty and and had a silver tongue. Arthur was ready to head out on his next journey. After this he'd really need to buckle down and work on forming a party. He wasn't sure why he was going out of his way for this girl the way he had. It just didn't seem... Well right to leave her the way she was.]]
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Courgette:400,700] Wincing from the pain, Amaria instinctively held her stomach. That poison was no joke. Although this was a game, she could feel the effects throughout her body. It was an intense throbbing sensation that pulsed through her virtual veins, or whatever the equivalent was. On top of that, the Ouchi was quick. She was so lucky to be able to dodge its attacks at all. That was [b [i way]] too close for comfort. That was crazy.
The adrenaline was calming down now, but that fight or flight response was most likely why she wasn't KO'd right now. All she saw was that Beast spawn coming at her each time, and what she and Arthur were doing to bring it down. However, with that fading… OMG, she definitely felt the damage now. Without even getting hit, she was at 50% health. 30HP gone and left. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Shit. That poison was no joke."]]]
Everything was so real. Labels don't lie… but this truly isn't for everyone… The weirdest sensation at the moment… was that she felt a constant throb, but the ability to climb a mountain if she wanted to. The pain didn't zap her energy… She was fine to continue even though the pain made it seem like she wasn't… Most likely because she had high AP. Regardless, it was weird.
Pushing through the aches, she walked over to Arthur and Robin with a smile. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “We did it. That was crazy, but we beat that thing without any knockouts!"]]] They started heading to the temple again as Arthur . [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Yep. Definitely a badass team. Awesome.I made a friend that fights similar too. He kinda got blown away though… and the one that needed the heal hits about as heavy as you. I definitely couldn't have done it on here either."]]]
Now that they had a moment, Arthur answered her earlier question about what brought them to Drevin. [i [Courgette [size16 Following a lead? Cryptic? Interesting. Was it for a summoner? Or for the overall quest?]]]
Robin chimed in with his reason and went right into asking his first question for Arthur. As weird as it was talking to an NPC right at that 4th wall… It was cool too. Goofy or not, Arthur did a good job sharing. Though no way in hell Amaria would have seen what Robin was going to ask next.
Her eyes went wide and almost missed her next step. [i [Courgette [size16 Did he just ask that? I must have heard wrong… There's no way he's programmed to ask something like that.]]] Convincing herself she's being stupid, Amaria tuned back into the conversation. [i [Courgette [size16 What the hell? No. No way. Nope. Not hearing this. Uhhhh… I need a distraction… Oh, a nice little bird in that tree over there. Such a pretty bird.]]] And the bird flew away… [i [Courgette [size16 Nice… Thanks bird…]]]
Abandoned by her distraction, the conversation had Arthur doing some sort of damage control. Apparently Robin took whatever rejection kinda harsh… Though the last part about how it was easier in this world to talk.. Just talk… Not like 'we're just talking' just talk, but normal talk… Definitely normal talk. In some ways, she could relate. She could talk on here like she couldn't with her friends. They wouldn't get it. She was such a nerd.
Apparently mentioning another world got Robin happy again. He was practically jumping up and down. Before that topic was able to start, they arrived at the temple and he was off collecting data. It was so easy to forget he didn't have real emotions. He couldn't. It wasn't possible. Looking around, the temple was so lively. Like a there was a festival going on or something.
As she heard something about a summoner, Robin walked up giving her the final payment and thanked her. He also gave them both a free stay at the inn. But not only that… and he was blushing… while saying all of that… It was like he had a crush… but he couldn't. He couldn't right? [i [Courgette [size16 Quit standing there just freaking out. NPCs can't feel. They can't have crushes. Just say something. Say something and walk away.]]]
[#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Thanks."]]] [i [Courgette [size16 There we go. Words are a good thing.]]] [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “And, yeah. We can travel between them."]]] [i [Courgette [size16 And that was an easy way to start a whole new conversation. Walk away. Just walk now.]]] Amaria gave a wave for goodbye and walked over to where some locals were gossiping. Arthur seemed to already be listening in.
As the topic wrapped up, it was about time to heal up. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Im not sure if I'll be leaving right away yet, but food sounds nice. Maybe we'll run into our friends after healing up too. It was nice working with you too, Arthur."]]] She accepted the friend request and was about to shake his hand when Zack appeared. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Hey, Cap. It's great to see you up again. I'm glad. Looks like you got my message."]]]
As she was about to introduce the to, Arthur beat her to it. [i [Courgette [size16 Level 6? How many beast spawns would that take? So quickly too?]]] She never paid attention to his level before. It definitely said 6. That was a big jump… [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 "Yeah, let's all get something to eat and then look for some cool items. We just got here & need to heal up really quick. But that'll be fun after. Are you good from your beast spawn massacre?"]]]
[center [h3 Fighting Through]]
[center [b Amaria the thief had taken the deal it would seem and she apologized but explained she needed to make a living. Robin had smiled and responded.]]
[center [+purple As a traveling merchant I understand the need to haggle no worry. Though I will warn you not many of my peer's will feel the same. Possibly because first and foremost I could myself a scholar.]]
[center [b "A living huh? She was really getting into this game too. Not like his friend Nun had but a lot none the same. Arthur had gotten a chance to talk to Amaria after introducing herself as well to him he smiled. He was glad she understood his look.]]
[tangerine [size30 [center Yeah! I'm glad you understand my look.. Normally in games I would have picked up something like Knight. I guess I wanted to try something different? Even if Warrior isn't too far apart from Knight. A bruiser tank over a guardian type I guess. I respect the Knight class a lot! Sadly I haven't seen a lot of other players feel the same way.]]]
[center [b She had asked for a moment giving a potion to her crew and leaving Styles a message. She had taken care of the captain and was ready to go forth! Being asked to take the lead and that was exactly what she did! Heading down a path she found a chest but with that? Trouble too her and Arthur fought the Ouchi boss bravely. Despite the thing being a LV 5 boss the two somehow managed. Arthur hadn't healed from last fight with Nun even. The poison had taken a toll on him and Amaria. Arthur had felt a little tired and even coughed a bit. The pain wasn't immense but enough to be annoying. Strange design for a game but it did have a lot of warning labels to it. Arthur always had a large tolerance for pain though. He didn't seem like it but he was always really athletic. Not into sports but athletic all the same.]]
[center [b Arthur had stood his ground against the boss digging his heals in taking multiple hits. Amaria was quick and nimble much like his friend Nun was countering many attacks and such. It was hard fought and Amaria when she seemed on her last legs? Robin had almost jumped in the fray jolting to take a blind hit for her. However her and Arthur managed to gain control of the situation. Arthur seemed dorky and the type to be a bit of a klutz but he ended up being a dependable partner. So was Amaria, dependable that is. He couldn't have done that alone.]]
[tangerine [size30 [center Nice! We make a badass team don't we huh? Couldn't have done that alone so thanks! You fight a lot like my friend does. Oh yeah what you were saying before that thing ambushed us... Drevin? For me? Hmm... Following a lead I guess. I should really be looking for that friend I mentioned and.. I know I'll see him again soon enough. Still... It was one of those cryptic things that just strangles your curiosity ya know? So why are you two here?]]]
[center [+purple Business trip as you know and researching the Fiends Spawn. Not to mention the temple up ahead. Let me ask you a question sir Arthur. The way you fought with incredible strength a trait common among Warriors was indeed impressive. So I must ask is it true adventurers grow stronger from every battle?]]
[tangerine [size30 [center I mean.. We all do in our own ways right? I guess though we do grow faster than you guys it seems huh? We gain a sort of... Point system for those guys but only the tough battles really strengthen us. Fighting things a much lower level.. Err weaker than us isn't as rewarding.]]]
[center [+purple I see.. Off topic why can't adventurers and people of the land mate? It's believed that adventurers understand and accept why. Since they rarely pursue such a thing.]]
[tangerine [size30 [center Rarely? It should be like never! That's weird! I mean I know I'm a nerd but those people might take it too far..]]]
[center [+purple Never? Weird? Are we seen as that much lower to you? More like animals than fellow mankind?]]
[tangerine [size30 [center Err.. Gosh wow I didn't expect you to take it that way. Nonono it's not like that at all I swear! I.. God it's hard to explain... I think you guys are great. Honestly in a world like this... You guys are easier to talk to than my own kind outside of it.]]]
[center [+purple Haha my theory was right! They laughed at me! They all laughed at me but you come from another world! Can you freely traverse through the two worlds can you? CAN YOU!?]]
[center [b Arthur had blushed realizing he kinda admitted he got anxious around real people around Amaria. That talking to NPC's was easier for him what a nerdy thing to say. It made it worse she was a girl he felt terrible saying that. He always had this social class clown aura but people could be hard for him sometimes. Well than again there was a chance she was a he playing a female character. Not that it affected the two made a good team Arthur stood by that. It was a game he didn't think it was weird at all. We all did what we found fun right? Still on a more serious note out of all the NPC's Arthur's talked to. Even in the beta contest he played... He never met an NPC so self aware. It wasn't like Robin knew he was an NPC but he was onto some strange concepts. Than again he was just programmed to say that kinda stuff right? That being said Arthur weirdly felt bad for him. What could he say? Ehh best not to overthink it. This was just a game at the end of the day. Arthur had just smiled and laughed awkwardly at Robin's excitement before Robin could question him further. Here they were at the Temple and Robin was ecstatic. Placing crystals all over the place and taking notes as they took in the surrounding energy. Monks and priest along with priestess's were everywhere. It seemed a summoner and her party were here too. The people were joyed to have them. Arthur hoped it was Rin but seeing the Summoner walk in the temple? Her username didn't match Rin's. "Darn!" with that Robin had paid Amaria her gald. He cleared his throat afterwards to speak up.]]
[center [+purple I... Amaria thank you for your service and well..]]
[center [b There was a slight tint of red on Robins face. He hoped she hadn't noticed him almost do something rather reckless.]]
[center [+purple Be more careful in the future. I mean you are an important asset to people like me that's all I mean. As a bonus allow to pay for both of your inns here they should get you two all patched up.]]
[center You here? Jessica only has a single guardian. One! The two must make a really powerful duo.]
[center [+red I hear her guardian is one of the people of the land. It's rare one can be so powerful to keep up with an adventurer. He must be one of those heroes.]]
[center You think? They say only an adventurer can tell..]
[center [b A hero? What's that? Well before Arthur knew it Robin was talking to other merchant here at the temple. it seemed they could go rest at the inn huh? Arthur looked back at Amaria.]]
[tangerine [size30 [center Since it's his treat wanna go rest and eat? I wonder how food taste in this world. I heard the way it makes our senses go off? We can really taste it but I'm not sure if that's true. Though after you heal up I'm sure you'll be off right? Getting paid and all. It was nice working with you!]]]
[center [b Arthur had thrown her a friend request. With that he also put a hand out for a handshake. On a job well done sorta thing. It was than Styles had walked up with a bit of a smirk on his face wrapping an arm around Amaria.]]
[center [+darkblue Hello first mate of mine! Your a real life saver lass. I owe you one and picking up jobs too huh? Sorry it took me a bit to get here took a job for some coin to get the ship mixed up. Just killing some beast spawn and the like. Oh Amaria did you find another friend?.]]
[tangerine [size30 [center Oh hi! My names Arthur! I'm a warrior! I mean you can see that though huh? So your.. Styles a LV 6.. Pirate? What class is that? I've only seen seven classes. Sure they are gonna add more later but... Pirate?]]]
[center [+darkblue It seems your LV 5 yourself and aye that is a good question lad. It seems we got a good start huh?]]
[center [b Good start? More like a few days head start. He played the beta too and somehow found a rare class too. Arthur understood wanting to keep that a secret people might get angry if they see he had an advantage. Even more so with this big contest that came up.]]
[center [+darkblue You two don't mind I join you for a meal before I head back to the ship? Do you? We could maybe check out what they got to sale too? Could be fun.]]
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Courgette:400,700] The merchant's response wasn't what she expected. He laughed and just about met her offer, except paying for answers. Though she could see where he was coming from. With the warrior being able to do that anyway, Arthur apparently… The NPCs were so cool. It's like they had real personalities & emotions. It was like he wasn't really an NPC even though the game said so. Honestly, she'd like to have a little Q&A regardless, but well, it looked like items weren't cheap and gald wasn't easy to come by.
Amaria couldn't help but smile as she replied. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “It's a deal. Just need to stop by the docks on the way out to get the heal to my friend. That's it."]]] Robin handed her the full recovery item as the warrior gestured that he was ready as well. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Thank you so much! Sorry for being extra pricey at first, but I need to make an honest living too. Besides, it's always best to make the most of things right?"]]]
This was too cool. She wanted to get a potion to revive Zack and get some gald... but her trip here so far was way better. & it just started! Maybe they'd even run into a summoner on the way. As she turned to the warrior, she received a message notification. [i [Courgette [size16 I'll check that later.]]] She cleared out the alert.
The warrior– Arthur, introduced himself. He seemed even more hype than she was, a bit goofy too. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Nice to meet you, Arthur. I'm Amaria, a level 2 thief. Yeah, u definitely look more like a knight. Though everyone has their own look. No judgement here."]]] Amaria put both her hands up to emphasize her last point.
Based on her appearance and friends at school, people wouldn't think she was into video games. It wasn't like she was lying about it, but she didn't broadcast that she was such a nerd either. Everyone has their reasons. At least his contradicting look was virtual. She'd be the last one able to judge.
On their way out the town, they stopped by the docks. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “I'll be right back."]]] Heading towards the Mangy Sun, Amaria waved over and called for someone to come down. As the 2nd mate deboarded the vessel, it hit her that she'd have to go on ahead without Zack again.
It wasn't like she could keep them waiting even longer. So, she handed the potion to the mate with a message to Zack to possibly meet at their destination. She mentioned there was a possibility for EXP in the forest, so he could bring some eager crew members while the rest watch the ship.
It wasn't long before she regrouped with the others and they arrived at the forest entryway. There were three different paths though… and they all went to the temple. According to Robin, a summoner could sense the strength of any enemies. With her and Arthur left to decide without that help, Arthur quickly passed that role to Amaria.
Looking along each one, she noticed one seemed a lot more used than the others. , Though she could make out some sort of item down another that wasn't as popular and a chest down the last one, but that reeked of bad vibes. Amaria didn't want a repeat of that water serpent incident, but too safe was boring and wouldn't help with EXP or loot. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Let's go down this one."]]] She pointed down the one on the right, which seemed to be a middle ground between the two.
As they walked in, she asked [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “So what brought you guys to Drevin?]]] Further into the forest, Amaria picks up the pouch she saw from earlier. [i [Courgette [size16 25 soul essence?]]] The walk so far already ate up 11AP. Hopefully it wouldn't cost too much more. It was weird. All of that and the journey had been pretty peaceful. It was weird though. As if jinxing it, a huge plant-like creature came out from behind some trees.
[center [h3 Bargains]]
[center [b Arthur had tilted his head to see the NPC comment on her appearance. "Can NPC's... Really flirt? Nah it's probably precorded to be used at players with a high enough charisma right? How is charisma decided? Skills? A stat? Hmm.. Still Robin seemed convincing. She thanked him? Well... For all Arthur knew? She? Could really be a he in real life. Though if it was a girl a flirty NPC is a little less creepy than a real flirty person. Than again though Robin had looked at her design more than pretty. Almost like she was something for him to study it was strange." Arthur couldn't piece it together but he had decide to shrug it off.]]
[center [b Here she was bargaining with the guy a hard bargain too. He was just an NPC it was how one played games right? For fun? Still Arthur had felt a bit weird about it. Sure he always played the good guy in video games but he understood roleplaying not such good characters it was in good fun right? Well she wasn't being mean just trying to make a profit off of him. She was... Well shrewd, the Merchant had laughed and made his counter offer.]]
[center [+purple I'll fully heal your friend and give 600 gald that's 200 gald shy of buying an Armor Morph stone. As for questions? Don't worry I'm sure Arthur here will answer mine for free of charge as he does owe me. I didn't wanna part with that much gald but I don't know what it is... Something about you just rubs me off a certain way. Not in a bad way either.. Well will that be it? Seems Arthur here is willing to part with whatever loot we find too. [google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Courgette:400,700] While talking to the merchant, she not only got to look at his wares but also found out an alternative from his shop. That was surprising… Why would a merchant advertise that someone else has something better for the same price? Why would someone program him to do that? It was weird… but still nice. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Oh wow. Thank you. That’s so sweet of you to tell me about the inn. Though I’d rather have something portable..."]]] Before she started to see what her options were, the warrior called out to Amaria. She listened to his dilemma and offer.
[i [Courgette [size16 This is perfect! Now I don’t have to sell my dagger or waste AP! Amaria noticed the merchant, Robin, giving her a similar look as the rest in town. Similar in this feeling of not being trusted, though he seemed a lot more open. Though as she was about to say something, his expression softened… or shifted in a way…[i [Courgette [size16 Attractive packages?]]] Sadly, she’d heard worse from guys at school… but when he mentioned ‘built for combat’, she starting to think maybe this wasn’t just a pickup line. [i [Courgette [size16 Awww. The NPC called me beautiful. The programmer must have great taste. I like my character design too.]]]
[#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Interesting way of putting it, but thank you."]]] she said with a genuine smile.
As she noticed him avidly writing in a notebook, an indicator screen popped up in front of her. No one else, including the warrior, seemed to be aware of it. Not even a side glance went its way.
[i [Courgette [size16 Oooo. This is cool. This sword not only helps me get discounts, but can help influence my interactions too? Of course I'm going to use it!]]]
He was really into writing in that book. It reminded Amaria of that kid in class that would always ask a million questions for his notes and ace the exams… Before saying anything else, she looked around the shop to see what was there, not just those on display but possibly hidden or off to the side. She found a few that really caught her eye.
[#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Was there anything else you'd like to know? I can join you two in exchange for fully healing my friend and a Morph Stones upfront. I'll risk the rest of my payment on getting loot. I'll also honestly answer 2 questions while we're on the way in exchange for one of ur weapons. However, I reserve the right to say no to one but answer another instead if I don't find the it reasonable. If you have anymore we can discuss things then. You're not only hiring protection but also access to knowledge from someone, according to you, is far from badlooking. Good deal right?”]]]
She wasn't sure how much he was originally going to pay, or how much gald was really worth... but that sounded reasonable to start of with. Going was technically a charity, but by adding something else with it she could get a feel of what she didn't know. She could still keep an advantage if she was pushing it or know for later if she sold herself short. She made sure to have an out in things just in case he was actually a pervert.
After saying all of that to Robin, Amaria felt like she was feeding into why her parents wanted her to study law… It came out naturally sometimes… She only hated it because her parents kept forcing it down her throat. Though in here, it can help her reach her dreams. That made it feel kind of nice. This was a first in a really long time, like all the way back in middle school.

[center [b Robin had crossed his arms eyeing the thief up and down. It was common for an NPC to be weary of a thief. However Robin's expression though seemed worried at first had turned to interest instead.]]
[center [+purple I did not know that Adventurers could come in such attractive packages. You were all built for combat so it's strange seeing one look so beautiful.]]

[center [b Use Prince Charming and begin to bargain a better deal with Robin? A little indicator had appeared on Amaria's screen a tutorial of sorts. "Thief's though aren't trusted by the people of the land. Have an innate charm and can find weapons and skills to increase said charm. An adventurer could use this to an advantage on the people of the land." tutorial messages were a bit on the scarce side in Black Beast. [google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Courgette:400,700]As Amaria made her way past the glaring eyes, she noticed a merchant shop up ahead that seemed pretty intact. [i [Courgette [size16 Oh my gosh. Thank you for not being destroyed. Thank you so much.]]] Amaria happily equipped her Cardinal Scimitar and picked up her pace to the store. She did not want to have to locate another town… She was already willing to sell her dagger for the potion… Zack was able to help get her this far out, but she hadn’t really been able to take advantage of it yet… She wanted to get him healed so they could venture out & enjoy the game more. & meet up with Nun, wherever he was now… [i [Courgette [size16 Speaking of Nun…]]]
She stopped outside the door and noticed she had two messages, one from Nun & another from the game admin sent some time after.
After reading his message hours late, she laughed and replied [#e3164c [Courgette [i “Hey Nun. Sorry for the late reply. Though that guild sounds like fun =P]]]
Moving on to the next message. Her entire face just froze. She couldn’t believe what she was reading… How could this be? It was too good to be true. Your dreams don’t just arrive at ur door… or in this case, inbox… Not only would the 2 million dollars do so much for her to pursue the career [i she] wanted after high school, but the job was right there too. Game design has always been an inspiration, anyone who saw her sketchbook would know that. She made costumes for her school play just to get her parents to form some aspect of it. She loved coming up with fantasy-based clothes, items, accessories, props… all rich in their fictional culture… She also enjoyed making the scenery, but designing the things a person chose to have on them… That was precious…. She had to win. She, Zack, Nun, and whoever else… They just needed a summoner. Her parents couldn’t get in the way anymore. She could do this.
All excited and ready to go, Amaria walked into the shop. Despite everything going on outside, the merchant was rather cheery as he welcomed her in. This was good, because she wasn’t ready for sad and weary. There was another player in there. A warrior class with a greatsword that seemed to stretch his whole height, even with his armor. He seemed to be in deep thought about something. So, she let him be. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Hey, is there anything for sale here that can heal my friend?”]]]

[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Courgette:400,700] After tucking herself in the bed, she could feel the firmness of the mattress and coziness from the warming sheets covering her. Of course, it was no match for the one in her room in real life. Though it was odd how she could feel so at home on a bunk of a pirate ship. She was quickly overcome by an overflow of relaxation and drowsiness. Her eyelids slowly closed, she opened them again as she tried to grasp this weirdly rushed feeling, though it it was really nice… The closed once more.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Felipa:400,700] Next thing she knew, she was surrounded by various swirling lights. The colors were all soft blues, greens, pinks, and even yellows. So they were easy on the eyes as they created a glow in what seemed to be a really dark area without it. It was as if she was in the midst of an aurora dancing in the soft night. A mass of those flowing colors then formed before her and stretched out to flatten a bit and form four distinct corners. Hovering right in front of it, this dark iridescent text established itself just before that screen-like mass.
[Felipa [center [size16 [b “Select a Resting Option:]
Amaria thought about trying the lucid one, but was curious about what would happen when she let the game take control. Deeper Sleep it is. She’d save Lucid Dreaming for Next time. Amaria raised her hand and pointed at where it said Deeper Sleep. The rest of the text and board dispersed like glittering mist. Then, her entire surroundings changed ones more, morphing into a tropical sky and shore. It was very similar to the one she just left. She was strolling along the beach, letting the waves crash beside her. As she made her way around the island, the terrain beside her rose higher and higher. At one point it was like a hill leading inward, further into the terrain. Without knowing how far she walked, she glanced over and saw it was now a wall supporting the higher ground behind it. For some reason, she didn’t feel the need to see how high it went. It was as if she had known it all of her life. It was really weird. Her body didn't question it. Seeing the wall just meant Amaria was coming up on the way into the city.
There were these hovering platforms that wrapped themselves along the edge of the island. They were disconnected and each one hovered much higher than the other. As she stepped to the right just before the first one, the ground pushed her up from it, as if they were opposing magnets. Even if she wanted to, her feet would not touch the sand there. That force brought her to the level of that platform. All she had to do was walk forward again. When she got to the edge of it, that same affect happened. It brought her up to the next one.
As the process repeated itself, Amaria noticed she was somehow familiar with how it was happening. It was as if basic knowledge of this area found its home in her head.
The electric charges with the ground were not only multiplied but accelerated. A mechanism planted before each platform was designed to not only generate this amplified electromagnetic field, but controlled its magnitude and and range. This allowed a person to only elevate to up tof the next platform but also prevented it to be activated too soon. There were also various sensors scattered before it to collect data on the person's mass, walking speed, the angled pressure applied by their steps, and a few others in order to project and calculate how to alter the generator's programming to account for all of the variables that would create liabilities in the system.
This dream was starting to feel like a physics class on steroids… [i [Courgette [size16 Being on that staircase better help me ace my next exam… Though it'd be better if it could just take it for me though…]]] Now understanding how math class was apparently useful there, she made her way through the entrance and saw the most tech-ed out city ever. Although she was amazed by it, she continued walking casually as if everything was normal. She didn't pay it much mind on the beach, but being on autopilot here was a let down.
It was like she became one of its civilians. She could feel similar emotions and get some of the basic understanding of someone who grew up there. Though she was still somewhat separate from it… it was weird. Cool, but weird. The rest of the dream felt like a directed tour through the city. Even though she wasn't able to truly
venture through it, there was a lot of cool stuff everywhere. With so much to see, she'd get lost looking for more. They say time flies when you're having fun… Time flew. A giant neon sign popped up announcing that she is now waking up and her sleep duration was 3 whole hours…
Everything began fade as she heard murmurs off in the distance. Those murmurs gradually grew into rambling of what like members of the crew. Back in that place full of lights for a moment. Then, she was back in the game as she opened her eyes. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Okay, Okay… I’m up.”]]] Like in reality, she felt groggy as she first woke up. However, just how getting tired was when she fell asleep, that feeling was gone almost as soon as it came. Amaria was wide awake. [i [Courgette [size16 I bet my parents would love this for schooldays.]]] Stretching more out of habit than need, she was still taking in that whole experience. It was really… different from any sleep she ever had. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Well, that was really weird.”]]] Amaria thought out loud before addressing the two guys beside her. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Hey, how'd it go? I'm guessing the mission was a success.”]]]
As they told her about how they managed to dock at a port town, she was happy they were able to accomplish more than just look for possibilities. Amaria was also relieved they didn't sink the ship in the process. They did a really good job. [#e3164c [Courgette [size16 “Great work. You all earned a break. All that's left is to get some potions & we'll be back on track. I'll head into town to wrap this up now.”]]]
As she went into town, she slowed down her walk as she witnessed the sight before her. Buildings were burnt. Rubble littered the streets. Citizens looked rough… to say the least. Something definitely came through here... Although they all seemed on edge, she noticed everyone was extra defensive and wary when they saw her… She hadn't really spent any time in a town ever since since she started…
As a couple of people holding their belongings a little tighter as as she walked by, she understood the reasoning. [i [Courgette [size16 They think I'm going to rob them when they've already lost everything…]]] She gazed at a few of the NPCs’ inventory menus. That one only has a single slipper. This other one just has a half of a loaf of bread… Good, this one has a frying pan. That'll be good for cooking and defending themselves. She continues her search for a merchant among the wreckage.
