[center [font "Serif" She didn't speak to Edward during the whole class. To her, he seemed somewhat odd. His eyes were a dark black, some she had never seen before. It was definitely not dark brown. He barely looked over at her, didn't introduce himself, nothing. To her, it was a sign of dismay.]]

[center [font "Serif" As the bell rang, Mara packed up her things, flipping her hair over her shoulder. Edward seemed to shudder and in that moment, she swore she saw evil in his eye. He darted out the classroom in such a rush, she had no time to ask him if he was alright.]]

[center [font "Serif" The day was over and it was time for her to go back home to her mother. It was the same old, same old. Her mother was probably gone for work. She worked at the police station but in the coroners office. She was always working long hours and was gone for so long. When she was around, she was sleeping.]]

[center [font "Serif" Mara didn't bother heading into the house. She instead left for the detached garage her mother transformed into her studio. Her mother had bought her some new supplies and the studio was looking amazing. Her mother had pained the garage a sky blue with clouds. She had some of her older childhood art hanging up and it was refreshing. It inspired her to try to improve those and recreate them.]]

[center [font "Serif" Today, she had a different inspiration. Edward Cullen. The black eyed boy who is a mystery to all. As odd as he may of seemed to her, he was beautiful. She started going in hard with paint. She outlined his eyes, thinking back to the stare they shared at lunch. Her eyes softened as she thought of him. Such a mystery but such a perfect looking human. She huffed, deciding in her head that she would confront him tomorrow at school.]]

[center [font "Serif" Except there wasn't a tomorrow at school and there wasn't a next day or a next day. Edward has been gone from school for a whole week. At first it was the whole family and now it's just Edward. Her curiosity was getting the better of her. Where was he? She had exchanged looks with his family across the way. They drove a car big enough for them all. The blonde woman, Rosalie I belive her name was, staring into her. Was it hatred? It sure felt like it.]]

[center [font "Serif" It was the next week, Friday again. She entered her art class with her canvass in her hand. She's had to work on a project that was suppose to be [i theirs] but he had been gone. She spotted her seat and sure enough, there was Edward. She felt herself grow angry as she made her way over.]]

[center [font "Serif" She slammed the canvas on the table, looking over at him. [b "Do you plan on taking anymore leaves? I need to know whether to ask for a seat by myself or continue with you."] She plopped into the seat, looking over at him. Maybe she was being a little too aggressive. [b "Look, sorry. Just, where have you been? It was suppose to be a partner project and it turned to be a solo one. Next time, I need some help."]]]

[center He peered over at the blonde girl watching him from afar. Her brown eyes beating into his black ones. He was hungrier than hell and hadn't eaten in awhile. He was known as a vegetarian vampire. They only fed on animals and didn't risk the lives of humans. That was the course the Cullens had taken and he was to stick with it.]

[center He had never seen her before. Edward's 'gift' was that he could read the minds of others. He knew their thoughts, their gossip, their drama...he knew every drop of it and he was bored. Why didn't he find love? Was it because no one was good enough for him? No, it was that everyone was the same. Easy to read, no mystery. But this blonde? Her mind was fuzzy. Almost blocked. He couldn't tell what she was thinking. He just continued to stare at her.]

[center This year he had opted to take a bit of a different course, Art. It was a sculpture class, something he hadn't experienced before. He was done with the basic English, History and Science classes. Art was where he was going.]

[center He is very quick when it comes to getting to class on time. The moment that bell is up, he's in class. He was tired of today and needed to eat.]

[center He sat at his desk, his chin in his hand as he watched fellow students enter the class. There she was, that blonde. She entered in after a boy who couldn't even look twice. She had her notebook pressed firmly against her. The teacher looked around the room, stopping at Edward. He heard her, "You'll sit with Edward Cullen." Great, a fuzzy mind to sit next to.]

[center She came and sat down. She didn't look at him, didn't talk to him, nothing. Her facial expression didn't even change until the teacher started class. "Alright everyone, settle down, settle down. We have a new student in the class, everyone meet Mara Kingsley." She said, as everyone turned and looked at her. He had her name, Mara Kingsley. What a beautiful name for a mysterious woman.]

[center Class was over and they hadn't made any conversation. She was packing her bags up when he caught her smell. She smelled exactly like Orange Blossom and Bergamont flower. She smelled lovely and it was intoxicating. He could hardly stand it. The desire to take her and drain her for what she's worth was so strong. He hadn't felt that in so long. It almost made him gag how much he wanted her.]

[center The bell rang and he swiftly made his way out of the classroom. He ditched school the rest of the way, going to Carlisle as quickly as he could.]

[center "Alright, here is everything you need. I could only get you about five days out of school. Use it wisely," Carlisle told him, handing him a bag of materials.]

[center "Yeah, no problem." Edward said, slinging the backpack over his shoulder. He wanted to talk to carlisle about the blonde damsel he met today or at least sat next to. He found himself shaking the thought. She would be dangerous to the Clan. Surely after this hunt, everything would go back to how they were.]

[center [font "Serif" The blonde breathed in sharply, holding her sketch book closely to her chest. She stared up at the older, brick building. It was intimidating. Mara had never moved out of her comfortable four bedroom home she had with her father. She had never moved, in general. The only thing that happened is one day, she has a mother. The next day, she doesn't.]]

[center [font "Serif" It had been about five years since she had seen her mother. Her dad was arrested on chargers they are still trying to get straight. She couldn't stay with any other family except for her mother, who lives in Folks, Washington. She had been in Fairbanks, Alaska. She was use to the snow not the rain.]]

[center [font "Serif" The morning wasn't too bad. Her classes were easy. Mostly introductions. Introduction to Calculus, Government, French and Chemistry. She still had her art class and english after lunch.]]

[center [font "Serif" Folks High School didn't have the greatest lunch, in Mara's opinion. She opted for some grapes and an apple. She sat at a table alone, getting a few looks every now and then. A few people even came up and took the chairs from her table. It was sad but she was quiet. She almost felt there was no point in making friends, she should be out of Forks in no time.]]

[center [font "Serif" The glass door across the way swung open. Her eyes left her sketch book, looking up. In walked a group of people she had not seen before. There skin was pale but so was everyone else's. An extremely buff male walked in with a blonde under his arm. She had a mole above her lips, they looked like a statement. After them was a woman with very short hair. It wisped outward at the ends. Her outfit very bubbly and exotic, she twirled with what Mara assumed was her own 'mate'. He was a stone cold face. No emotion, seemed almost as if he was in pain.]]

[center [font "Serif" And then he walked in, grabbing her attention almost immediately. He was tall, wearing a plain long sleeved shirt, rolled up at the sleeves. His outfit complimenting his body shape perfectly. His hair shorter on the sides and longer on top. He was attractive.]]

[center [font "Serif" The group had sat a ways away from Mara. She scooted her chair to looked at them better. They were such an odd looking bunch. Her eyes found the lonesome man. She stared at him, when they had walked in, the cafeteria almost came to a silence. People were looking and gawking. She had heard a few people chatting around her.]]

[center [font "Serif" "Edward is sooo hot. Too bad he's not good enough for anyone around here." One girl said, her voice sounding annoyed. "Edward," Mara thought, the name coming aloud in her mind. Her gaze fell on him once last time and that's when she noticed him looking at her. He seemed almost puzzled. The bell rang and she broke the stare, standing up quickly to gather her belongings. "I need to get out of her." She thought, exiting the cafe quickly.]]

[center [font "Serif" It came time to get to class. Her all time favorite subject, art. She was looking forward to it so much. She went up to the teacher, she was a round woman. Her hair miscolored with paintbrushes stuck behind her ears. "Excuse me, I'm Mara Kingsley? I was wondering where you wanted me to sit." She asked politely.]]
