"What do you mean you aren't sure she likes it?" Nami rested her elbows on the table and watch Amy, "If it's about why she left yesterday, I doubt it was you. She's been acting off since we got you back. We'll let Sanji handle it." She listened to the song that Amy was now playing and smiled. "What about this one?"
"It's not alright," Eli sobbed, "I killed all of you and I don't know why." She leaned into him as she tried to catch her breath, her sobs turning into labored breathing. After what felt like hours she finally began to calm down. "I don't know whats happening."
Amy smiled softly. "I wrote it for Eli... I'm not sure if she likes it though." She murmured softly.
Sanji frowned as he wrapped his arms around her holding her close. "Just breathe Dove. It's alright." He gently rubbed her back as he felt her body tremble.
Amy slowly started to play but her body wanted to move. After a bit she couldn't help herself and did some simole dances her body was sore but other than that She was alright.
"I can fix that." Usopp thought about what she said and scratched his neck, "What do you mean a little too the right?"
"The recoil ended up stripping a marine lieutenant of her clothing," Zoro replied. "She ended up exposed after the second recoil got her."
"Exposed?" After a moment Usopp blushed, "Oh, okay, yeah I can fix that. Leave it to me!"
"Go eat something," Eli urged, "I'll go find some of my simpler charts to show you. With the incoming reason, we may not be able to see the stars tonight. I think there might be a book or two in the library about astronomy too."
Some time later, after the rain had started, Eli sat in the observatory with her notebook open. She had decided that it would be easier to explain what was in the notebook rather than outright show him the charts. She was explaining how, even though the stars themselves never moved, they were never in the same position depending on where they were in the world.
"Take this one for instance," she pointed to the constellation she spotted at the Sun Festival, "I've only seen this a handful of times since that night."
Chopper handed Amy her violin, "You can try playing but once you start dancing in talking it away. You risk causing more damage of you move too much."
While Eli watched Sanji look over her journal, she thought back to the dream she had the day before. "Sanji," she looked down, "About yesterday and why I left. I had a dream about death. The whole crew was dead. All run through the same way I killed Ava. A-and it was me who did it but I don't remember it." She felt her breathing pick up as the horror of her dream filled her mind.
"And you, y-you died too. We were laying in bed a-and," she started crying, "when I woke up there was a hole in your chest and your head want attached to your body and I was covered in blood. So much blood." She tried to calm herself but the tears kept flowinf. "It was the song Amy played yesterday. It was in my dream too and I felt like I was reliving that nightmare so I flew away."
"I'm curious about that song from yesterday," Nami began, "Who did you write it for?" The crew, save for Eli and Sanji, were all gathered in the kitchen away from the storm.
"Its too upbeat to have been for you," Zoro commented while looking at Amy.
Amy spun around surprised. "Oh! Usopp! I'm sorry! Nono! Not the whip. The whip was wonderful. It felt like an attachment to my arm with how well I could control it." She thought for a moment. "But the recoil I'm not sure if that was my fault or if it needs adjusting it would veer to the right quite a bit."
Sanji nodded. "That sounds wonderful Dove."
"Tell us how you really feel," Nami chuckled.
"That doesn't answer my question," Usopp sighed, "Did it feel like anything needed altered? Did the handles feel right when you held them? Give me something."
"I can show you the basics for now." Eli felt like he was hiding something but didn't push it, "But we may be stuck in the observatory for a while with the incoming storm. Are you okay with that?"
Sanji heard the familiar voice and put out his cigarette before carefully snaking his arm around her waist. "I'm fine Dove. Just a little nervous about making the star charts." He chuckled softly before kissing her forehead.
Amy finished her food then pushed herself up and winced slightly before walking over to the sink to wash her dishes. "Fucker really couldn't just die easy..." She muttered before drying off her dish and putting it away.
"We can find someone else to do," Eli suggested. She was about to suggest something but remembered she was going to teach Sanji how to chart stars so he could help her. "I'm," she looked at Sanji's empty seat, "going to go talk to Sanji."
"Why don't you let me talk to him," Nami suggested.
"No it's okay." Eli took her empty plate to the sink and walked outside. "Hey, are you okay?"
"So Amy," Usopp looked at the Navy haired woman, "How did the whip work for you?"
Amy frowned. "There goes my idea to play in the rain..." She muttered as she ate her breakfast.
Sanji took a drag from the cigarette before looking out at the ocean. [i I can't let her get depressed again... She nearly wore herself out...] He ran his fingers through his hair frustrated. [i I need to learn how to make her charts and learn it well... I don't want to stress her out even more...]
"Robin," Eli poked at her food, "what did you say to him?"
"Just told him to be careful is all," Robin replied. That wasn't exactly a lie but it wasn't the truth either.
"Oh, okay." Eli looked down at her food and took a bite, enjoying the juiciness of the pear. [I I know she said something. He only gets like this when there is something on his mind.]
Nami noticed the slight tension and decided to try and break it a bit. "It's going to rain soon. I suspect it won't be a small storm either. So we'll need to be extra cautious and it's best to stay inside."
Amy grinned. "Or I can push through. Nothing like a little tough love to heal right?"
When she saw Chopper enter the room and give her a warning look she sighed.
"You're no fun... The one thing I enjoy is playing and dancing... why can't I just suffer the consequences..."
After a bit Sanji had breakfast made and he set the table and brought everything over as everyone filed into the room. He kissed Eli's cheek before whispering softly. "I love you." Then he walked out of the kitchen to go have a cigarette to clear his mind of what Robin had said.
Eli frowned, "If you say so." It was obvious that something was discussed simple because Sanji respond. Not wanting to push the subject she sat down at the table and sipped at her coffee.
"How is your are," Robin asked as she sat across from the woman.
"Have you talked to Chopper?"
"No. I wanted breakfast first."
"If you start dancing you'll need to start playing," Zoro pointed out.
Amy shrugged. "I can play in the rain. It's more romantic anyways." She joked before pondering over what Eli said. "Hmm... but you do have a point... I don't know if I can play without dancing... my body sort of moves on its own.." She frowned.
Sanji didn't say anything as he focused on making everyone breakfast.
"Can you play without dancing though?" Eli did her best to cross her arms and failed because of the sling. "If you can do that then you should be good."
"Alright enough chit chat." Zoro once again shifted Amy and started walking again until they reached the main deck. It was overcast, which meant there was a chance of Nami telling them it would rain. "You might be stuck inside today."
"Probably," Eli replied before entering the kitchen, catching the end of Sanji's and Robin's conversation. "Did I miss something?"
"Not at all," Robin replied as she poured a cup of coffee for each person that entered. "Just casual morning conversation."
Sanji nodded. "Don't worry I know. She means the world to me. I'll do my best to keep her happy."
Amy chuckled. "At least I can still play. I might not be able to train but Chopper didn't say I couldn't play." She grinned.
"It's easy to use them as pillows too," Eli laughed.
"Eli," Zoro warned to which the blonde just stuck her tongue out.
"I heard what happened. " Eli shifted uncomfortably, "I'm glad you're okay though. Chopper said it might take some time for you to heal because the blade went all the way through." She glared at Zoro, an idea popping into her head and returning her smile. "But at least you've got Me Muscles here to keep you company and me out course." She gestured to get cast and sling, "It'll be a bit before I can chart stars again."
Robin followed after Sanji so she could get a cup of coffee. They passed by Zoro, Amy and Eli on the way but it seemed the three were talking to she just smiled and waved. When they arrived in the kitchen, she sighed. "All I'm saying it to keeping an eye on her. She'll be in that cast for a few months, she's likely to get depressed not being able to do things on her own."
