Kane’s face fell and he sighed, “I’m sorry.” He knew she didn’t want to marry him and every time she changed the subject like that it hurt a little more. They were planning the wedding and kids and maybe building their own house and somehow Kane knew none of that was going to happen. She didn’t want him like that. She acted like she didn’t belong here with him.
"Right, forgot about the tunnel from Mario and mad lacing," Willow said dryly. That dress maker was annoying her with adding this extra. Extra color, sashes and crowns. "I liked royal weddings once."
Leaning forward she kissed his cheek softly ran a hand through his hair. "We don't need to talk about the wedding right now. I'm just glad that you're okay."
Kane nodded, “Were getting married in two weeks darlin’...we were going to go back to Nashville anyway, isn’t your final dress fitting tomorrow?” He asked her not sure if she even remembered that she had a dress fitting. If all the appointments weren’t in his phone he wouldn’t know anything but he was doing his best to remember things. In two weeks she would be Willow Brown.
"Are you okay, love?" Willow asked taking his hand and gave it a squeeze. While there was a lot of love there she just didn't want this yet. Right now it was about him.
Looking at him she gave a concerned smile. those thoughts didn't matter they were just annoying white noise. That is would be ignored until he was better. "Suppose we'll be going back to Nashville till you recover."
Kane looked to her worried, he knew she was getting cold feet...she didn’t want to marry him. She was spending more and more time away from him and anyone could see they were drifting apart. He loved her but he wasn’t sure she loved him anymore. At the hospital a doctor stitched the gash through his eyebrow and he winced. “Willow...” he muttered reaching for her hand.
The thoughts were disappointing and instead of the rising panic there was just numbness.
"Let's get to the hospital," Willow said with a thin smile. She wouldn't leave him then but she could feel herself reaching for the ring to twist it. there was second thoughts and even seeing him like this wasn't sparking.
"I'm glad you're okay, love," she whispered with more of a smile.
Kane was on a stretcher holding his shoulder with one arm, his clothes were torn and his lip was bleeding as well as a gash through his eyebrow and scratches all
Over him. “Willow.” He muttered and blood leaked down his chin from his lip. “He wouldn’t leave without you.” His manager said looking to her, “the audience pulled him in and it took security five minutes to get him out.”
When someone was a partner they were supposed to be there most of the time. Even that she was sucking at. She enjoyed the towns, different climate, and scenery. She still enjoyed time with him and how fun it could be but the wedding scared her.
"There's a problem Miss Straite," James said.
she nodded and followed back only hearing bits and pieces. They got there for the aftermath.
Kane was on the second to last song when a fan grabbed his leg and he slipped, being pulled into the audience. His microphone went flying and he tried to fight them but it was no use. It was like he was being pulled into a bottomless pit of people. Security sprang into action, grabbing him any way they could to try and get him out but he kept getting pulled deeper.
Tour was fun, seeing the new country was a lot of fun. Working with other artists was equally fun. It made the idea of just going to a house and spending her time raising kids seem small. Summer still killed her.
Sometimes she was back stage, other times she wandered around taking in the new country.
This night she took to wandering, describing the town for the songs and just because.
"The concert should be almost over, James. Let's get back."
Kane smiled at the woman, "Thank you maam." He muttered, his accent was shocking to most here. Kane chuckled at Willow and nodded, picking up a hand full of snow and chucking it at her smiling, "Duck babe." he muttered trying to give her a heads up but it was no use, the ball of snow landed on her thigh with a thud and Kane knew then the snow ball fight was on.
Lunch was combined with other tourists and guests. Willow gravitated towards a British couple. Soon after returning back to London, that'd be a while before she would be around this.
"You two are a darling couple. It's a shame the snow storm is so bad," the older woman smiled.
"Maybe we could have a snowball fight," Willow gave a small grin. They were natural together and that much was easy to go to this next step.
"I'm glad I got to spend my first time in Paris with you." he said kissing her before pulling her ontop of him again. When they were finished Kane kissed her and muttered, "I guess we should get dressed if we want to go out tonight." He reached for his jeans but sighed, "I want to spend forever here but I know we will have to go back soon and that kills me."
"Probably otherwise I would have missed going," Willow chuckled before smiling . "As teenagers there would be eye rolling. later on there would be the stories."
She gave a smile. "Now...There's time for one more time before that European lunch. That can take a while..."
The tourists, and European customs would make it last a while! It had been a little while for her to experience this again.
Kane chuckled, "I'm glad you didn't look because you would have saw me staring... and now that video of your dancing on stage with me that night is on the internet forever and I'm sure our wedding video will be on there too... imagine our kids' faces when they find out how we met... thats a story in itsself." He muttered holding onto her. This was a life he was ready for.
