“When did you find this place anyways? To my knowledge, I didn’t know this place existed, being as overgrown and disrepaired the kettle was...” he said to Seras, and he was hoping she might have found it because she was adventurous.
"Hmm...I do guess that could work." Seras told the male in reply to his statements about staying in Octo Valley. As silence overcame the area, she glanced around at all of the Octarians, including the ones who were playing cards with their feet. [i I wonder if they'll ever evolve to have arms.] The female thought to herself as she waited for Jax to say something.
He smiled, but then he frowned, because he was supposed to report back to theSquid Sisters after he did his recon. “I’m supposed to report back to Agents 1 and 2...but I could always tell them I’m going to be staying in Octo Valley for a while.” He said, smiling a bit
"Well...you could stay here with us if you want. I don't mind it." She then told him, reaching down and lifting his face up so he could look at her. "I understand how you feel...I hate the violence that seems to still ravage everything behind the scenes. That's why I came to this ancient kettle along with these few Octarians." Seras explained.
He looked at the roller and placed his hand over his face while leaning over. “I’ve been used for the inkling’s own war, but I can’t do it anymore...” he said, getting somewhat upset about the flashbacks
The female nodded slowly in solemn understanding, and she did not know what to say as a reply. Seras ran a hand through her hair for a moment, blinking a couple times as she tried to think of something to do or say.
“You don’t understand how painful it is for me to do that...I’ve had to splat my own kind just for so called peace, but all I’m doing is making the gap worse between both kinds...” he told her, sighing and shaking his head gently.
The Octoling female was silent for a moment as she examined the roller and heard Jax's words. "Really? It must have been an honor for you...since no other Octoling has ever come close to something like that. The most any of us has done is be an Elite for a squad or something...but we're not of that life anymore...and the rank didn't really get us much..." She sighed, feeling kind of bad.
He sighed. “That’s not the only thing I’ve done...” he said, and he laid his hero roller down on the platform, which startled her, but he didn’t hold onto it, he let it lie down on the ground. “I was recruited as an agent for the Splatoon...but I don’t think I could continue with it...”
Seras tilted her head to the side awkwardly. "I did think there was something different about you. Perhaps it's just the smell of Inkopolis on you or something, I don't know. Anyways, I would go to that city...but they certainly wouldn't let my Octarian friends in and I don't want to leave them behind at all." She explained.
He smiled when he saw the octarians playing cards. “I haven’t been here for a good while...in all honesty, I’ve been in Inkopolis for a long time...” he admitted, looking a bit unpleased with the thought of the truth, since Octo Valley was his home.
"I guess that's understandable...since we were all raised and even trained to a degree with violence in mind." Seras noted, not knowing that the male wasn't trained by Octolings, nor raised the same way she had been. The Octarians sitting on the ground looked over to him with their typical expression, while some were smiling a bit and using their feet to play a game of cards.
He looked a bit surprised. “I’m actually somewhat surprised that there are octolings and octarians that aren’t hostile towards anything...” he said, sitting down and looking at the octarians and the octoling that was there as well.
The female simply nodded towards his statement, leading him over to an area where some of the Octarians were sitting down. "I'm here along with these guys to...well, live without violence, actually." She told him.
“So there’s a lot of history to this place...I never knew anything about this...” He said, relaxing a bit, his roller still upon his back. “What are you doing here anyway?” He asked, curious as to what they were planning to do with the metal parts besides furniture.
