He told her that he also was excited to try the bow she made him, since it looked impressive. "As for how I preserve my food, I salt it..." he explained, and he spotted some animals in the distance. "Over there..." he whispered.
"It is not wise to run out of food, obviously." Hitori said with a slight roll of her eyes as she followed him outside, and watched him climb down the vines. "Yeah...I kind of know..." The bird said as she glided down to the ground slowly, landing beside Senshi.
"I do, but I have no more..." he told her, and carefully peeked out of his home, and told her there was no one to be seen, then he climbed down the vines to the ground below. "Don't forget, we need to be careful, because we don't know what we will run into out here!" He shouted to her from the ground.
The bird looked at Senshi awkwardly, as if confused. "Do you...not salt your hunted meats to preserve it? Or place it in some cold water containment area? Or anything like that?" She inquired him curiously. "My kind always preserved our food with different techniques..." Hitori admitted, flapping her wings once.
He understood what she meant, but he had no idea that it was Hitori that made him feel at ease. "We will have to go hunting before long, or else we may starve." He stated, and grabbed his quiver. "Shall we?" He asked, smiling a bit.
Hitori simply listened to the male speak, and she nodded in understanding towards his words. "Nature can have different effects on everyone, depending on many factors. I, for one, find the biome of the alpine to be very peaceful and calming." She stated, stretching for a few seconds.
He smiled when she handed him the ornate and very well made bow. "This amazing craftsmanship...and a few hours? I felt like I was asleep for a few minutes.." he told her, and he looked outside again. "I cannot put my finger on it, but there is something about the jungle that makes me feel at ease..." he said to her, and continued to look out at the scenery.
Hitori chuckled when she noticed the male awake, and she handed him his newly carved bow. "I do believe that this is for you." She said with a smile, as she looked out the window with him. "You were asleep for a few hours, I'd say." The bird stated honestly.
After a few hours, the male woke up, and he looked at her. "How long have I been asleep...?" He asked, quite refreshed after his nap. Senshi stood up, stretched, and soon was looking out the window at the jungle around them.
Hitori was startled, but knew that talking during sleep was not rare. She carved the wood finely into a bow, slowly making each mark and cutting each piece out quite delicately. Soon enough, she had created a beautiful looking bow, with a lot of power and force behind it. "This looks perfect, and as precise as any of my kind's bows." The bird complimented herself.
He nodded in understanding, then he laid back down, and after a short amount of time, he fell back asleep, but his dreams were different than his usual ones, he dreamt about his people and how they were watching over him like guardians. He also talked in his sleep, startling Hitori a few times.
The bird shook her head. "Little sleep is unhealthy for the mind, body, and soul. You must get the proper rest, or you are wasting your time trying to survive." Hitori explained with a sigh, hoping the male would even listen to her.
He nodded, but he was not sure he wanted to sleep any more, partially because he was used to little sleep, and because of a strange feeling he had whenever she was with him. "I am used to little sleep, it is how I survive..." he told her, and he looked outside.
"I slept well...but it seems that you did not. I would suggest getting some more rest, while I make your new bow with the Yew wood you brought." Hitori said, holding up the piece of wood as she was about to start working on it.
Soon after a while, Senshi had awoken, and began to get his bow ready. "Did you sleep well?" He asked Hitori, hoping that she did sleep well. His expression telling her he was still slightly tired, and he yawned.
