Both of them seemed satisfied with that fact and for the rest of their visit they kept to conversation light and neutral. “Is food ready babe?”
Kane nodded, “We don’t need the stress right now, just accept it that we are engaged and we will be married, just Twins happened before that.”
"I have to be honest, I don't even want to think about the wedding until these babies are born. It's just far too much to think about and I don't want to stress."
Kane chuckled, “We need to have these babies first but we were going to look at a wedding Venue down town.”
Her father nodded and it seemed that their conversation was over and her mother started to change the conversation, talking about their wedding plans but Kane and Teyla hadn't even talked about it yet.
Kane nodded, “Understand that if you ever need anything come to us...we’re not kids anymore.” Kane was serious.
"I understand. I am sorry - it won't happen again." This time her father seemed sincere and she didn't have much else to say about the matter.
Kane looked at her father, “Your the only grandpa they’ll have and they won’t be raised with hate. I grew up with kids...little kids making fun of me for my skin color and I won’t have my kids learning that.”
Teyla smiled as Kane placed his hand on her stomach and she looked towards her parents and her mother was nodding as he spoke. “We are going to need you around.”
Kane nodded and shook her father’s hand before sitting down and putting a hand on her belly. “Now we want you in their lives and with my job I will
Be on the road a lot but that doesn’t mean I’m leaving Teyla alone with the kids. They can come with me and my mother lives here in town now, and your welcome to visit whenever you want if you respect us in our household.”
Teyla looked at her parents and waited for their response. Her mother was looking at her father with expectation and eventually he nodded and apologised. "I want to be in their lives."
“We are having two babies and your their grandparents either you accept them or you walk out now.” He muttered looking to them and held up the ultrasound. “These are your grand babies...now tell me if your going to be in their lives.”
Teyla followed him back to her parents and waited for Kane to say what he needed to say. "I am not going to accept this in my own home. I love Kane and I love our children and if you don't accept them, then what is the point in your being here."
Kane took her hand and led her out there and spoke, “Sir do not talk until I’m done. You say one word about me, my color, or my character and you are out of this house. This is your last chance. We want our children to have their grandparents but not if you act like that because guess what sir. Our children...your grandchildren, are biracial.”
She stayed with him for a moment, allowing his embrace to calm her down until she was ready to face them. “Alright but one more comment and I’m done trying.”
