He looked over to her noticing her surprise, a small grin forming on his face. "You..just prayed for your grades didn't you?"He chuckled a little bit, that was very much like her. As they talked about the charms he noticed what she might have been thinking and he let out a small breath. It would obviously be okay, he knew the one she was probably getting stuck on. He shook his head a little at her, almost wanting to tell her he could read her thoughts. "You have always been such a nervous person but...not particularly closed off to me, and you more or less tried to act like it didn't matter what I thought of you. Well..you hid your crush so I wouldn't think that, but most other things you were okay with me observing.."He noticed just how much hesitance dating brought into their relationship. "Just..be honest and get what you want, whatever one you want luck with..I won't judge you."He informed her as a matter of fact.
When he teased her about telling her what he had prayed for she felt herself blush slightly. "I mean, you don't have to. I'm just... curious, I guess," she replied, feeling a little unsure, if she had overstepped something, but was glad when he did go on, "You prayed for me?" Her head grew even hotter. Somehow she suddenly felt selfish for only thinking about her grades and nothing else, but somehow that was also who she was. She couldn't help it.
Looking at the charms, she shrugged. "I suppose so, but maybe if you need a certain type of luck more than others, it is better to be more specific so it works better?" she suggested, it being the only reason she could think of, "So luck, I guess?" At least it was the one that was the most neutral and made things the least awkward.
Seeing her come up alongside him she had obviously been observing. He supposed he did take a little while to pray, but he found that he ended up with a lot more to pray for than he thought. He grinned a bit as she asked and they stopped at the charm place. "Oh? Am I supposed to tell you what I prayed for?"He asked, knowing it wasn't typical. "A lot of things I suppose.."He thought on it a bit. "I prayed for my family, my friends, I prayed for you, I talked for a while in my head.."He didn't know quite how to explain it, the rest was pretty much prayer, not really for himself though, the usual reason for these shrines in the first place.
Looking at the charms he honestly didn't know, "Doesn't luck cover them all?"He kind of surmised, it seemed true enough to him.
Perhaps she was weird like that, but she didn't mind the silence. Anyone could be loud, but being silent together was a quality that was harder to uphold.
It was easy enough to find something for her to pray for. She prayed for good grades. Once she was done she looked over to him to see that he seemed to be putting a lot of thought into his. Once they were done and walking towards the stands, she couldn't help asking, "What did you pray for?"
Looking at the charms they had, it was the typical ones. Love, good grades, luck and the like. She was honestly torn between which one to get. Love seemed a little odd with him next to her. Grades was probably the most neutral. "What charm do you want to get?" she questioned, looking to him.
Hearing her go on he shook his head a little a light chuckle coming out. He figured it was a good enough reason to like the dress up. He did manage to catch her saying his name quietly, it was different coming from her too. He liked either one, 'kun' was probably close enough to just dropping everything as is, but he definitely knew it meant something. He smiled a little as he walked up the stairs with her, not exactly knowing how to follow it up, but it would be fine, in a bit they had to grab a fortune and pray.
He looked through them and didn't know really what to pick, or what to pray for..luck was a pretty common one, so that's what he supposed he would, but the praying still had him in his head..what did one pray for, for people they cared for sure, but did it have to get more specific? Still he proceeded through the motions and took his time actually finding more words through the motions before going to proceed to the rest of the temple where you could buy some things, and just be in the kimonos longer honestly.
She couldn't help enjoying reciting everything. It was probably terribly boring to listen to, but to her it was likely another quirk she couldn't turn off. It seemed odd to imagine that it was actually a cute thing.
Once they had rented the kimonos and put them on, she looked over to him. Somehow she liked these old clothes a lot. She gave a soft smile as she ran a hand through her hair. "Yeah, I do. There is something very... well traditional about them. They are in a way timeless," she replied.
Hearing him drop the honorifics, she did find herself blushing at that. It was odd to hear him say that, but at the same time it was supposed to be like that, right? They were dating after all. "Sho...," she said softly, not sure why though.
Walking up the stairs, she thought on it. "Well... we can get fortunes and pray. I mean, it's a typical temple," she pointed out, finding the architecture stunning.
Listening to her again he digested everything, but was more enraptured by the way she just became another person to be able to recite things. Once she noticed him apparently he shook his head a little bit. "Everything is okay."He assured her. Walking up to the kimonos to rent them some, easy enough to get into one. She did look nice in such clothes, he couldn't help but smile as he noticed her in it. "You like traditional clothes like this Kyochan?"He asked though in an effort to slightly tease he corrected himself, "Well..traditional excuse me..Kyoko."He dropped all honorifics, figuring the atmosphere would allow it, even if it was a bit colder now. "What do we do then?"He asked her proceeding up the stairs by her side, was there some gimmick to the temple besides the kimonos?
It was an odd transition for her. He had in a way always been a fantasy for her. The times she had read mangas and imagined it being her and him. Suddenly, that was the reality and it didn't seem real. Like this was a dream she didn't want to wake up from.
Nodding, she followed him to the elevator. "It's the oldest temple in the region. It has a rich history," she began and on the elevator ride and the following walk there told him of the history of the place. She continued to talk until she noticed that he kept looking at her in a shifting way. "Is something wrong?" she asked, interrupting her lecture.
They were closer to the temple now and noticed that several people were walking around in traditional kimonos. "Look, I think you can rent them here," she pointed out, admiring the old style clothes.
Listening to her again, he was glad he brought more than a sentence out of her. She had always been shy, but one of the things he thought he'd taken into account was that..he wasn't wrong in kissing her, no she would have said so, he had to remind himself. Still, before they were dating it did seem a bit easier to talk, he wondered if she would ever get used to the transition. Nodding a little he looked to the temple. "Alright..let's head over there then."He stated and began to the elevator with her once more. "What's the tradition there?"He asked curiously, maybe it was relevant to something, maybe it was not, she could have just panicked.
It wasn't such a long walk, but he stayed a little closer to her since they were still holding hands, and of course because it was cold. A big part of him though was still wondering if she was still embarrassed about this, or if she was okay with it all. It was clear he was trying to tell, his eyes shifting over to look down at her, wondering if it was the cold or a persistent blush.
They probably made for an odd pair, both standing there awkward and unsure of how to continue. Though his hand linked with hers was still a nice thing as they stood there. Him teasing her about her mangas had the opposite effect as her face only got redder, as she didn't know what to say so she kept looking out.
When he brought her attention of what to do next it was a welcome distraction as she looked at the sights before them. "How about... we go to the temple over there?" she suggested, unsure of what might be interesting for him as well, "It's the oldest in the region and has a rich tradition." She was fine with seeing any of the sights, but she did want it to be an experience for him as well, which she supposed a temple would bring a good balance, she hoped.
"Uh..well.."He repeated back and turned to face the scenery as well, though now his hand did fully slip in to link together with her's. "I suppose..your manga's can't have had it all wrong..."He teased a little bit, but hoped it would be just the thing needed to lighten up the mood for them. Either way it was silly and he chuckled to himself about it. They had the rest of the day ahead of them of course, they couldn't just look at all these monuments and places from up here. "Weren't we up here to pick one to go to first..which one was the most interesting to you?"He asked her curiously, obviously just enjoying spending time with her was his goal. He mostly enjoyed watching her light up about things and just like before when she was reviewing all the facts in her head, she was much more relaxed during those moments.
She wouldn't have said she wasn't shy in this regard, but for some reason, perhaps even the reason that she did want to do this made it so that she did lean up to meet him half way. He didn't seem to mind that so that was good. Her entire body felt warm as they kiss and he held her hand.
When they finally broke apart she looked up at him, feeling her face flush the deepest shade of red possible as realization hit on what they had been doing. The way he looked at her it felt like he wanted to say something, but he didn't say anything and she honestly had no idea what to say. Still, it felt like she should be saying something. "Well...," she began, but couldn't say anything out of embarrassment and quickly turned to look at the scenery outside as if to distract herself from what had just happened. One could imagine in her head all the facts from the monuments was running down in a hurry, not knowing what else to do.
He noticed the same sort of things, things were quiet like it was for them. His hand moved fully to hold her's as their lips met, continuing to lean so she didn't stay on her toes. He did enjoy that quite a bit though, her meeting him for the kiss, it was curious how she wasn't exactly shy in that regard. At the very least it showed how much that was something she actually wanted to do as well. The kiss did feel like it was spreading heat all throughout his body. He leaned a little more into it, kissing slightly less softly right before pulling his head back, his hand staying holding her's as he looked down at her again. He didn't know if he was supposed to say something or if he was just supposed to enjoy the moment, feeling the heat move a bit to his cheeks now. The silence wasn't exactly bad, but it was obvious he wanted to say something, he just didn't know what to say.
Again she shrugged at what he said. "Probably not, but those people have other things they are good at. Like... athletic skills or being able to draw well. Everyone has something they are good at. I'm just good at repeating things I read," she told him, feeling like her ability wasn't that grand.
When things became quieter again she looked up at him and he down at her. There was something about this that made her spine tingle slightly, but she didn't know what to do. As he moved closer to her, she blinked before feeling his hand touch hers. Suddenly it felt a little warmer. Then she did recognize that he was leaning down to kiss her and slowly she leaned up, getting slightly on her toes. Feeling their lips meet in the middle made the tingle she had been feeling light up like fire to a blaze.
He chuckled a bit at what she said. "I don't think everyone has it so easy..."He mentioned, of course never finding it annoying or anything like that, she was genuinely intrigued by what she was saying and hoping he would be too. He was to a degree more intrigued because it was her saying it, and trying to make the absolute most of their trip together.
Still she just got quiet again like normal and looked up at him, and he was looking down into her eyes as well. He couldn't help but think she was even quieter than normal, and he felt like he knew why, but..well he couldn't let her down again, and he had to be a little braver than she would be wouldn't he? He swallowed a little bit before stepping a little bit closer, his hand moving a little forward to touch her's a little bit before one of his fingers caught her own and he slowly began to lean down towards her. It was so much different from when she drunkenly was attacking his lips, and again for the most part he wasn't someone who initiated kisses either, even with that recent girlfriend, this was so much more..meaningful and important that he didn't get it wrong. At least he hoped he didn't get it wrong..
