Salazer nodded. "I was planning on taking Morgana anyways." He said laying down in bed. "She would know the area better than me anyways. It will mostly be close to her home land. I have told her already and she is packed and ready to go." He settled in before turning to look at her. "I worked too hard to get you. I don't plan on leaving you behind and I don't plan on being alone again." He reached out and grabbed underneath her chin. "I don't want to lose something I care about again." He then ran his hand up her face. "Your mine and I'm yours. We will both in this tougher until the end." He then kissed her lips.
The next day he woke up them up early before getting ready. He carried their stuff to the horses where Morgana waited for them. "Good morning my lord and lady." She bowed her head. "Hope you slept well." With that she helped Aisilyn onto her horse before getting onto her own horse. Salzer then turn to the both of them. "Ready to go," He said with a smile. He was ready to start this journey.
It seemed for the first time in her life, she was stunned quiet. That word had came out of her mouth and she had heard it back. Somehow they loved each other despite any words about not loving again. Unable to find anymore words when he left, she prepared the items she'd need, keeping her mind on the adventure.
"Yes, I'm ready. We should take one more person. Maybe Morgana, just in case anything happens to either one of us or...both..." Aisilyn gave a small chuckle.
Unless she had to, she wouldn't speak of what happened, at least for a while.
He was surprised by this. His eyes widened for a second before a smile came to smile. "Well is seem that truly have made you my own." He said giving her a mischievous grin. Before leaning down and kissing her. "Don't worry I won't tell anyone that you're in love with me. But, alas I must confess that I have fallen in love with you myself. The big bad demon has fallen in love with a girl so full of herself it funny." He joked. "I best start packing for the day ahead. With that he left her to her own thoughts.
He had given the order shortly after about gather stuff for his trip with Aisilyn. He packed only the basic of what he need. A pack of small cloths, food, water and most importantly a heavy coat. He didn't want to freeze to death on his trip would look bad on him. After an hour of packing he head back to Aisilyn. "Are you done?" He asked when he entered.
Even before Salazar was done with his statement she was on her feet and had her arms around him. "All you had to say was that we were going somewhere. You cannot keep a gypsy grounded for too long," Aisilyn said with a happy smile. "Yes, this is perfect, I'll help with the research. This may be the source of it."
Just the thought of going on a big adventure like this was amazing. "Oh, I love this, I love you."
And...that just came out...that seemed strange to her that she had said it. That if she meant that or not. Maybe it could just be ridden off.
Salazer stood up thinking. If that man got that much power in his hands it could cause problems for everyone. He was powerful but even his dark powers had limits. If this got ahold of unlimited power then he could do whatever he wanted and that meant bad news for the rest of the kingdoms. "We should invest this." He finally said. "I don't know where this land is but there are rooms we will leave day after tomorrow." The started formulating plan on what supply they would need and how long this may take. He could use a trip any ways. When had been the last time he had a trip. Too long.
"I will need to get one of the other generals to take my place while I'm gone. That shouldn't be too hard. Next, we will need to get supply ready and house. After that need to do some research to find out more about the area. We may need to take Morgana as it will mostly be in elf territory and having her with us would most likely make it easy to get past guarded areas. Lastly, we need to come up with a plan to stop him when we run into him." He turned to look at her. "Agreed?"
"That's not my decision on what to do if he is, that's your division. This is just what I've discovered through meticulous hours of work," Aisilyn moved beside him before thinking on this. What did it mean? If more than one spoke of it. It seemed obscene to think that it would exist.
"Well, it seems he's after more than what is here now. It's a short cut to power, I'd assume," she shrugged before leaning down and kissing him. "Though, worth investigating further. Possibly bring in someone higher for information. We know all of the little weasels."
An adventure, to the home of magic, it was fascinating she was getting antsy just thinking about it.
Salazer took a minute to think about this. "But why?" He asked. "What would he gain for visiting a place like that?" Salazer racked his brain for a reason why someone would want to find the birth place of magic. Magic could be found every were so why got to the place it first started. Let alone find the dam place. The books never said anything about in. He could ask Moragana but he doubted that she knew ether. "What are you proposing we do if he is looking of it?"
"From two of the moles I've heard it twice, almost said the same. I'm starting to think that he's not creating an army to attack, but he's trying to get to this place, and if such place exists, we actually might have some serious threats," Aisilyn said placing down the brush. Eternally she hoped this meant an adventure, being stuck in a place for so long was miserable for her.
Looking to him curiously, she wanted to know if he thought she was crazy for this thought or was on to something. There was more questions than there were answers to this puzzle at this point but she was going to find out.
Everything had gone well during his plans. His group attacked and have very few losses. At first they didn't like there knew ruler but over time they had started to calm down and accepted him. However, after that things calmed down nothing happened leaving Salazer back with little to nothing to do. Aisilyn had been busy with her investigation leaving only nights for him to talk with her. Winter was also settling in make Salazer even more shut in. He hated the winter as it caused pill up blanks and sit in his room all day. He hated the cold. Always that all winter always brought cold and freezing air.
It was around night during Aisilyn nightly hair care sessions that she asked her question. "That is a very very old story." He said while lying under the covers. Sticking his head out closes to her he continued. "I don’t remember all the story myself but Morgana or one of the books in the library would know that information. If I remember correctly some elves and humans kidnap sprites demanding there power however the god got mad and smite the area. Because of this it killed the kidnappers and the spirts. However, one survived and learned steal the magic. He couldn’t control the power and it over took him and caused an explode that unless magic to the rest of the world. What does that have to do with anything?" He asked
It took two months to get all the pieces together. For being as impatient as Aisilyn was, somehow she managed to collect and keep it. First she had to get her pawns, find fake information, then slowly have it begin to weave itself. Convincing Salazar was another story. Still she adapted to this life and with him. A companion, who would have thought that was what she'd do.
There was still an itch of travel. Being in one place for so long didn't sit well with her. Practice and work kept those thoughts away.
One cold day there was finally word back on who it was. It took a day to get names and information, some was standard. The rush on taking care of this was crazy.
As normal they talked at the end of the day. Brushing her hair, she stared hard a the wood, there had been a word. "Salazar...one of the moles...they said something strange. Do you ever remember the old story of...I don't remember what it's called. The story goes it's where magic was born but grew too wild and destroyed it's land."
Morgana nodded and grabbed her hand. She pulled Aisilyn the side out of ear shot of every one. "I understand. I use to work as an assassin before I came under the world of my lord. Use my skill however you see fit. I trust your judgment." She bowed her head. "Use them as a distraction and use me to hunt the one that is evading them." She looked out at the crowd of people.
Salazer had finished with his early meeting and was headed to the training grounds. He was ready to work out as he felt stiff form siting in a chair all morning. See that Aisilyn wasn't there yet she started off with some light lifting and sparring with some of his underlings.
"No, they won't work. This is stealth and deceit. They speak cumbersome and loud...does he even know how to be discrete at all?" Aisilyn moaned before looking to them with a half smile. "I really need to be be one of them to a point. Yes, I'm a...pet of a sort...but I don't know."
What was she even doing here? Giving an annoyed sound, mostly to herself. Looking to Morgana, she gave a flustered look. "I don't even know what I'm doing here. This needs to be discrete though, okay?"
Shed' need to talk to him soon.
Morgana had found Aisilyn early on and simply watched her go about her day. She had been trained in stealth skill from an early age. She could sneak up on anyone without them even noticing she was there. She had talked to some of the kitchen staff. After words she talked to a few other. At first she couldn't understand what she was doing until about halfway through her trip. Noticing she was returned to the throne room. A few minutes later Aisilyn came to find her. "Yes," She answered. "they are a waiting you in the court yard." Morgana led her to a few men in shiny new armor.
The group seemed to be laughing and joking with each other until they notice the two women approaching. The then stood up and got into a line. Three of them where human, another an elf and the last two demons. The elf seem to be the leader of the group as he took a step forward. "Mam' second squad of the fourth battle group at your serves." He yelled in his best command voice. Morgana looked to Aislyn and said. "They are all yours. I'll be following you."
Physically satisfied from the night, Aisilyn washed herself at the sink, before dressing. There was a lot of pomp about this. Guard, working with Morgana, probably new people. That wasn't how it was going to work completely. Ready to go, she found some of the old slaves, kitchen workers and those who did physical labor.
It started with talking to a new girl. She was pretty but empty, Aisilyn told her a false rumor. It was small, naturally, it was about testing the water first.
Returning back, she looked to Morgana before tilting her head. "So, I was told I was going to get my own guard. Don't worry, I already started on the rumor mill."
The next day Salazer awoke early so he could have free time later with Aisilyn. Leaving a note about what time she should meet him he left to get down with planning. Morgana meet him in the strategy room with coffee and biscuit. "Morning my lord," She said in her normal tone. "Morning," Morgana he said as he sat down at the end of the table. "Are these the new reports?"
Mongana nodded. "Yes my lord. They came in last night." Salazer nodded his head looking over them. "Good good. I have a new mission for you. Aisilyn and you will conduct an investigation into spy hiding among us. You will take the new group of guards and hunt them out. Aisilyn will be in charge, but I want you to watch and record her progress and report back to me. I have a plan and want to know how well you thing she does." He said taking a sip of coffee. "As you wish my lord," She said bowing and leaving.
