Chopper insisted that Momo let him do a check up on her and she sighed as she looked at Sanji and nodded. "I don't care what anyone of you say. I will help with dishes at dinner." She stated sternly before looking at Chopper with a smile. "Yes of course. Lead the way."
Once they reached the main deck she smiled as she saw Nivie running around in the grass that was on the ship with Robin and Nami on both sides. Robin was a bit further but when Nivie got close to the railing arms came out of the ground to turn her around and Momo made an audible gasp.
Chopper chuckled softly. "Robin also ate a devil fruit. The fruit she ate gave her the abilities to have her body parts grow from any surface within a certain distance."
"Wow... these devil fruits sound amazing..."
Chopper shook his head. "While it does grant you special powers... It takes away your ability to swim. So if you fall into the ocean... You can't save yourself. Your body becomes basically like stone and you just sink you cant try to resurface because the sea takes away your ability to move in water."
Momo looked at Chopper for a moment then back to Robin. "Wow... that must be hard being pirates and not being able to swim..."
Chopper shook his head and smiled softly. "It can be difficult at times but we have a great family in this crew... We all look out for one another. If someone falls in one of the crew mates who still has the ability to swim will come in after us."
"Leave it," Sanji said with a smile, "Can't have you ruining your beautiful hands." He went ahead and started picking up the remaining dishes that were not currently in use by Luffy.
"Momo," Chopper walked up to the woman, "Could you follow me to the infirmary? I would like to give you a check up. I want to make sure you're healthy." To be honest, after seeing the state that Nivie was in when they arrived and how she had been acting, he was concerned something Mont be wrong with Momo as well.
Momo chuckled then nodded. "Good to know." She glanced over at Nivie who was grinning and shoveling pancakes into her mouth. She sighed and shook her head with a small smile.[i I've never seen her smile so much... Maybe I finally did something right for her...]
Momo shook her head then began eating her own breakfast.
After a little while most of the breakfast was gone and Nivie was smiling happily. "That was the bestest breakfast I ever had!"
Momo nodded. "Yeah I have to agree. They weren't kidding when they said you were the best of the best. That was the best food I've ever tasted." She smiled kindly.
Nivie stood up from her chair and brought her dishes over to the sink while everyone was filing out of the kitchen.
Momo did the same but was helping pick up everyone else's dishes that were left there.
Momo looked over at Nivie who was looking at the door. "Yes sweetheart?"
"Can I go play with Miss Robin and Miss Nami?"
Nami and Robin turned around as they waited by the door with a smile.
Momo looked up at them and they nodded she nodded in response. "You'd have to ask them sweetie. I don't mind."
Nivie grinned and trotted over to them after giving her mother a big hug. "Can I play with you?"
Robin and Nami chuckled before nodding. "Of course. Come on let's go show you around the ship."
Momo watched as they walked away with Nivie holding onto both of their hands. "It's so strange... We've been here less than a day... And I already feel like she's so much safer here..." She murmured softly as she gathered up the rest of the dishes and brought them to the sink to wash.
"Food won't go to waste on this ship," Nami laughed, "Anything not eaten ends up in Luffy's stomach.
"Huh," Luffy asked as he stopped basically shoveling food into his mouth. "What did I do?"
"He's clueless sometimes but none of us would be here if it wasn't for him." Nami turned her attention back to Momo and rested her head on her hand. "Eat at much as you want," she noticed Luffy's hand start reaching for her plate. "Hands off!" When Luffy withdrew she signed, "Word of advice, keep an eye on your plate."
"Do we have strawberries? I see those on pancakes a lot in pitures!" Robin chuckled as she nodded. "They're right over here. Why don't you bring your plate over and I'll help you put your toppings on while you're mom gets her plate too?"
Nivie nodded with a wide grin as she took her plate from Sanji and started to run to Robin but quickly slowly to a trot then walked over to Robin and sat down next to her.
Momo walked over to Sanji and smiled kindly. "Thank you... For doing all this... We're merely strangers and you've shown us more kindness than Nivie has seen her whole life. I can't thank you enough." She turned her attention to the little girl who was talking away to Nami and Robin who were helping her get her toppings on her pancakes. "Not to much, Niv. We don't waste food. Only take what you can eat."
Nivie looked up at her mother and nodded. "'Kay!"
She smiled at Sanji again before grabbing her plate and taking an open seat at the table between Luffy and Franky which was diagonal from Nivie so she could keep an eye on her.
"You can have anything you want," Sanji replied with a smile, the look on Nivie's face making him warm and fuzzy inside. "Is there anything special you want with your breakfast?" He looked att Momo, still smiling, "Everything has extra nutrition, to help you and your daughter regain what was lost when you were with those pirates."
"Sanji," Usopp cut in, "We are pirates."
"Yeah but we aren't anything like them," Nami pointed out.
"Help yourselves," Robin invited.
Chopper led the way up to the kitchen as Momo and Nivie followed closely behind Nivie holding Momo's hand in one hand and her blanket in the other.
When they reached the kitchen Chopper opened the door and Momo pushed it completely open and held it open for Nivie. When Nivie saw the table her eyes widened full of sparkles. "P-Pancakes?! And F-fruits?!" She grabbed onto Momo's hand and started jumping up and down pulling on her hand. "Mr. Cook made pancakes with FRUIT! Just like in the books!"
Momo chuckled and knelt down beside her daughter. "And what do you say to him for doing this for you?"
Nivie gasped then turned to Sanji and ran over to him and hugged his leg. "Thank you Mister! May I please have some pancakes?" She grinned.
Momo sighed and shook her head. [i I meant just the thank you not attack his leg... Silly girl.]
"Well somebody is trying to make an impression," Zoro muttered as he walked into the kitchen and saw all the food.
"Shut up Mossehead," Sanji replied as he put the finishing touches on Nivie's breakfast.
"We want them to feel welcome here," Nami pulled out as Zoro too a seat, "And I'm not sure if any of you noticed but they did look a little thin."
Robin was eavesdropping on those in the lounge and heard Momo say not to keep them waiting. She looked at the others at the table and gave a gentle smile. "The guests of honor will be arriving shortly." When she noticed Luffy reaching for the food she sprouted a few arms on his back and restrained him. "Please control yourself."
When Chopper opened the door Nivie walked in and saw her mother laying down on the seats and she was fast asleep. Nivie ran over grinning as she climbed up on top of her mother.
Momo felt the sudden weight on her chest and her eyes fluttered open. "Uhn..." She murmured but when she saw Nivie she smiled. "Hi sweetheart. How are you feeling?"
Nivie kept grinning widely. "Good Mr. Chopper is a good doctor!"
Momo smiled. "In glad."
"Mr. Cook is going to make us some breakfast too." Nivie added with a grin.
Momo chuckled. "Then we best not keep him waiting."
While Chopper led Nivie to the lounge to find Momo, Robin had returned to the upper deck and went back to reading her book. [I What could have happened to that little girl that would make her reach like that? Perhaps I should look into them. If they are anyone worth notice, to her should have bounties and a few article about them.] She was so deep in thought that she hadn't heard Nami approach.
Nivie was done her check up and grabbed the blanket that she had earlier and wrapped it around herself again. "Mister Chopper where is mama?"
Chopper looked at Nivie and thought for a moment. "You know, I'm not sure. I don't remember where Franky said she was staying. How about we go look for her?"
Nivie grinned and nodded. "Okay!"
Nami yawned as she opened the door of the girls room only to be greeted by two small faces. "Chopper, and Nivie right?"
Nivie looked up and smiled. "Hi miss!"
Nami smiled before kneeling down beside the little girl. "Hi, where are you two headed to?"
Nivie grinned. "We're looking for my mommy."
Nami tapped her chin then thought for a moment. "Well, if she hasn't woken up yet she would be in the aquarium lounge."
Chopper nodded. "Alright let's go check there!"
Nivie grinned. "Okay! Thank you miss!"
Robin was lucky when she caught Sanji leaving the boys room. She approached him quickly and put a finger to her lips. After making sure that the infirmary door was shut she finally began to soak. "We have a guest that would like pancakes and fruit for breakfast."
"I'd be honored to follow that requires," Sanji gushed, until he saw the seriousness on Robin's face. "Uh Robin?"
"Something seems off about Nivie," Robin crossed her arms, "She was really excited when she asked if she could have fruit too but took it back right after. She looked sad and scared."
"It's probably because of the last group they were with. I'm still going to make the best breakfast for them." Set in his determination, Sanji rushed off to the kitchen to begin cooking.
Nivie nodded. "Okay! Oh! Can we have fruits too maybe?" She then paused for a moment and shook her head. "N-Never mind that's a lot. Just pancakes please!" She grinned before being picked up by Chopper and placed back up on the infirmary bed.
Chopper checked her vitals and temperature and smiled. "It looks like you just needed some rest in a warm bed. Your fever has gone down drastically and your breathing seems normal again." He smiled. "But you do still have to be careful because your cold is still lingering in your body a bit. So you will still have to take that medicine okay?"
Nivie made a sour face but nodded. "Yes, mister."
Robin chuckled, "Of course. I'm sure Sanji would love to make them." She led Nivie down to the infirmary where they found Chopper looking panicked and still part asleep. "Chopper? Is everything okay?"
"No! My patient is missing! I've never let a patient! What kind of doctor am I?!" Chopper continued to be frantic until he noticed the little girl wrapping in a blanket holding Robin's hand. "You found her."
"Actually, she found me. She was looking for Momo."
"I see." The reindeer a approached Nivie slowly, "May I give you a check up? You were really sick last night and we were all worried about you."
Robin smiled at Nivie, "While he takes care of you I'll let Sanji know if your pancake request. He's just down the hall so it won't take long. If I'm not back before your check up is complete, I'm sure Chopper wouldn't mind escorting you."
Nivie grinned as she held Robin's hand. "If I'm good can I get pancakes?! I've always seen um in pitures. But I've never tasted them!"
Momo was fast asleep on the couch in the AL. She was rolling from side to side having nightmares of Blake finding them. "No... Please... Leave us alone..."
