Chess sighed, looking at the blade the little girl now held. [+red Mind handing me that after if we survive, kid? That's if we survive] He turned to the Forrest, the rumbling now making the stones bounce on the ground. [+red The noisy bastard has finally caught up.] It burst through the tree wall, the massive creature that could only be described as an overgrown snake. It's head was short though it was easily the size of a house, not helped by the fact that that size tripled if it had to open its mouth to eat a giant. It's scales measured a quarter of a metre in thickness, they were covered in small scratches as if someone came at it with a butter knife, though there was the occasional deep gash from a powerful foe or another. Though while Chess was examining the beast, it was charging, it's mighty body pushing it along. As it neared, a grin spread across his face despite the terror in front of them, he couldn't help it every time he did this. It reached them and he just tapped his board twice, it's magic shifting him five squares to the right. [+red It hasn't woken up fully yet if it fell for that.] There's never a time to get complacent. That was only the hopeful charge.
The small child took a deep breath before taking out a dagger from her sleeve . She flicked her wrist and the daggers seemed to be coated in a gold glow and became a long bladed sword. She bit her lip before saying. Guess we are going to find out huh?" She kept her eyes on the wall of trees in front of them.
He looked off behind him, watching the Forrest. [+red It's awake.. Our death may be nearing.] He looked back at the girl and grinned, swallowing all his fear. Standing up, he drew his board and tapped a couple spots. [+red Just because it's large, doesn't mean it's slow. Always remain on your toes.] With that he tapped the final square in his sequence. Briefly the field glowed, lines crossing it and making a square pattern. [+red The board is set. Think you can dodge a large snake, kid?]
"I know." She said almost with a laugh in her voice. As quick as she could the small child put her clothes on, still being slow due to her joints being very numb. Her body still thawing out rin stood as the ground shook. For the first time the small child was trembling. She was scared. Truly frightened. "What's going on ?" She asked, trying to keep her voice in its normal stubborn tone.
He cursed the entire time he ran. The serpent should have been dormant, asleep for a decade longer at the minimum. It must have sensed Rin. Never mind how it got awake though, just how to make it go back to sleep. Weaving through the trees, he was nimble on his feet as a thief should be. Though he almost tripped a couple times. By the time he made it out of the Forrest, he was breathing heavily. The ground was already rumbling from the serpents movements. He reached the middle of the field and stopped, he crouched down, putting Rin on the floor and catching his breath. Once he had enough, he dropped the girls clothing. [+red Your a constant.. Pain in the ass ya know?]
The loud splash and the piercing cry caused shivered the run down her spine. She tensed up managing the sit straight despite she was near to the point of where her joint had become too numb to move. Fear was becoming such a regular emotions for the young child that it effete of her was not as extreme as it use to. As she was picked up, despite a monster chasing them, was the warmth of her hand against her ice cold skin.
Through the trees, Rins movement caught his eye. He watched her silently until she fell then looked back up to the sky. Should he atleast give her a little kindness? He felt he should but decided not to, she has been a thorn the entire time. Though if there was anytime to do it, now would be it, as what he was hoping against happened. A loud splash from the lake reached his ears giving him enough time to cover them before the piercing cry came out. [+red The serpents awake! Oh curse you bloody Miss Fortune.] He jumped onto his feet and rushed over to Rin, picking her up then running as fast as he could back towards the house. The open space would be easier for him to fight in.
With the small blanket wrapped around her she kept walking, her bare feet slowly becoming numb and blue. She took out her phone and tried to call her father again but once again there was no signal. She was so cold. The young child did not know what she did that made her deserve this fate. All she wanted was to be back home, or a home of some sort even if she lived alone she just didn't want the paralyzing fear anymore. Rin fell to her knees as her legs gave up.
He found a small pile of leaves and carefully layed down in them, trying to not make too much noise. Though as much as he tried, the leaves still made a lot of noise. He stared up at the sky through the trees and, for only a moment, felt peaceful. Though that didn't last long as the sound of Rin went to his ears. Screw it, she can wander off. Tonight he just wanted to sleep. He just hoped she had enough shame to not go into public so underdressed.
When rin felt something against her she opened her eyes. Realising it was her underwear she guessed it was chess that took her clothes . She put her underwear back on and decided to start walking once again. She dropped a magic bead on a pile of leaves and they were sown together like a blanket. She wrapped it around her shoulder and started to walk.
He moved around, judging the winds direction, and once he got upwind of her, he let it carry her underwear to her. He was getting uncomfortable watching her without anything on. He stuffed the rest of her clothes into his coat and went off to somewhere nearby to sleep. He made sure he was nearby but out of sight, and just hoped his habit of lack of sleep would have him awake earlier than her.
It was a few hours before Rin realised her clothes were Missing. When she realised she just sighed . She guessed the wind must her blown then away. To be honest she didn't care anymore. Her father doesn't need her, her mother is dead what was the point. She just curled up on the grass as it started to get cold as the night drew in.
He pulled his board from his jacket and judged the distances of the surroundings. He swipes his hand across the board and faint squares appeared in the area of a chess board. With two taps, he appeared by her clothes. He quickly grabbed them, the moment they were in his grasp, he tapped again going back to where he was previously. Time to punish her.
As rin sat in to shalow end of the lake, her stomach growled. She was so hungry! Now that her skin was not covered in mud she could see all the cuts and bruises. She quickly grabbed her handkerchief and started to clean the cuts wincing every time. She whimpered a little and continued to make sure they were not infected as she didn't want anything else to happen.
Chess was walking slowly, his hands in his pockets and his head down. She could have gotten out at anytime within the two days he left her. Who is to say she wasn't already under her fathers care with an entire personal guard heading to his position. He was about to turn tail and accept his punishment when he heard an out of place sound. Something was happening in the lake nearby. [+red Please don't be the beast awakening. Please don't be the beast.] He moved quietly to the lake. Once he got close enough, he hid behind a tree and peaked around. It took a deal of effort to not jump at the sight of Rin. He watched and forming a plan, waited for her to move far enough away for him to swipe her clothes.
