Capone felt all twelve of those steps as his body crashed into them until finally he stopped when he had hit the bottom. Looking up he say doubles as the door to Colette's room opened wider and she came flooding down the steps to his side. [+crimson "Mr. Capone. Oh mon Dieu, êtes-vous d'accord? Oh mon Dieu!"]
Although he had no idea what it was she was saying, there was something in her words that brought comfort to the man as he closed his eyes momentarily before feeling her hand behind his head. [+crimson "Look at me..."]
As he did he swore he was seeing an angel for the first time. Long blonde hair flowed down her arm and gently tickeled his face, bringing a smile to his face. [+crimson "I'll call an ambulance....."]
It was those words that made the male more alert, he shifted from her hand until he was sitting upwards on his own, [b "No no, that's not necessary."]
He patted himself off before bringing himself to his feet, [b "It was just a little fall is all, nothing to worry about. Please, go back upstairs, I'm alright."]
Capone's back was throbbing with emense pain that he would never let his expression's show. The only reason he was trying to rush her along was so that he could retreat as quickly as possible to his room and allow his back to rest.
He let off a smile, holding himself with as much poise as he had earlier that day, even with the pulsating pains that ran from his spine don to his feet. [b "I didn't mean to wake you."]
Colette was only 24.
24 years of age and she was incredibly mature and confident with herself and her being.
24 years old and living in a house such as this, was something she had always dreamed of and it finally came true and her hard work paid off.
[i "The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”]
It was standing by the gramophone that Colette continued to keep her gorgeous..big brown eyes closed and got lost into the tunes of the music that made her body sway.
Lips opened and they moved - singing the song as it danced in the air and made her heart flutter.
This was life.
Smelling like jasmine due to the perfume oil, the expensive silk clung onto her skin while her long hair hung back to her lower back which gave it a little tickle.
However it was the moment that broke her being so entranced with the song. sound from outside of her room like a crash...and a thud and this caused Colette to shift away from the music machine towards the door opening it up.
[b "Hello?...."] she muttered before taking a step further out towards the staircase and looked down.
Alphonse was at the bottom.
[b "Mr. Capone. Oh mon Dieu, êtes-vous d'accord? Oh mon Dieu!"]
[i Mr Capone. Oh my goodness, are you alright? Oh my god!] Colette spoke in her natural tongue as she rushed down the stairs, shifting onto her knees and she knelt down beside Alphonse, a hand upon his chest while another hand rested underneth the back of his head.
[b "Look at me..."]
Tilting her head down, Colette's long blonde hair was now visible but all she did was stare at Alphonse making sure he was alright.
It was quite a fall he had.
Why did he fall?
[b "I'll call an ambulance....."]
Capone knew better than to be spying on a woman, but there was something about Colette that intrigued him. He could not stop himself as his feet took him quietly closer to her door, one step at a time until he was standing right behind it. By this time the woman swept her hair to one side and began to run a brush through it.
Capone knew so little about her, including her age. But based on the firm softness of her skin and the fullness of her breasts he assumed she was in her early 20's. Capone being a matured man of nearly 32 knew that to swoon a young woman such as herself would have been unlikely. It was not longer the 1920's but instead the golden 30's. Capone would never understand why anyone would have called it such. With the world at war for the second time, there was a widespread depression that not only affected the poor, but the rich as well.
The depression also brought with it the increase of tax evasions, something Capone would have feared if not for his accountants he had working ever so diligently to cover his lack of a paper trail. He began to wonder what the innocent Colette would have though of him had she known him only a few years prior.
His thoughts were disrupted the moment the sound of music could be heard, it was soft and too low to make out any words. But standing there in the shadows, watching the woman dance and sing brought Capone back to a place in his memories... [i 1924, Chicago. Noir Poet. Capone layed eyes for the first time ever on the lovely Chloe Darling. He had never seen a woman more beautiful or heard a voice with more melody. She was a dream.] Lost in memory, Capone also lost his footing and went tumbling down all of the 12 steps making more racket then a tennis ball.
Thinking about it all, Colette stared upon her reflection in the mirror and raised an eyebrow.
The woman though about the evening and the previous conversation the moment the female and Alphonse had the moment he showed her the magnificent room she was in.
Alphonse seemed too of changed his demeanor the moment Colette but her lower lip, an action she has done ever since she was little.
It was an action he didn't seem to enjoy and Colette noticed and swore she wouldn't do it any longer in his presence.
Colette knew nothing about Chloe on what she did and how she acted ...
Clearing her throat, Colette shifted her long blonde hair to one side of her neck leaving her gorgeous back and her smooth skin somewhat glistening in the dim light and the candles that she lit with a single match.
Within moments, grabbing a brush tight, Colette began to brush the strands of hair with the soft bristles over and over making sure there was no knots but it was after brushing her hair that she slowly made her way up from from the cushioned stool and reached into a suitcase Colette carried with her with her arrival.
Picking out a record, Colette gave off a smile unaware that Alphonse was behind the door and placed the record onto the gramophone, turned it on and gentle rested needle onto the plastic rib.
Edith Piaf started to sing and it was with stranding straight, wearing nothing but a white silk teddy as it was the fashion, Colette closed her eyes and started to sway as she listened to the song that was close to her heart.
l'Hyme De L'Amour.
A song about love. A song that Colette started to sing in her native tongue, quietly of course.
The woman was grateful, more grateful then he would have anticipated. But then again, fine things were no longer wonderful and amazing to him. They were just that, fine things.
[+purple [b "This room is more....than generous, Mr Capone. It really is. Thank you...."]] he began to wonder if she was going to run over and hug him, but instead she turned to him and bit her lower lip.
It was that small action that triggered immense pain for the male. Pain from have losing the woman he loved due to the life he had chosen to lead. He looked down at her as he stood an easy foot higher and pulled together his eyebrows before turning to exit the room. [b "Dinner should be done soon."] He choked out, quickly making his way down the steps and hall until he reached the door to his room.
Once inside he closed the door tightly and walked over to one of the drawers. In it held the beautiful emerald ring that had once been worn on the delicate finger of Chloe Capone. Although they had never officially married, it was the name that would forever be engraved on the stone that marked where she now lie.
After only a somewhat awkward dinner, Capone made his way into his office to do some last minute work. Even though he was no longer a mob boss, it did not mean that he was no longer a boss. He know made his millions working about many in a multi-billion dollar company. One that he alone had created by using his inevitable charm and persuasions.
Could one ever really change?
After signing the final stack of documents he began to make his way to bed only to be stopped by the stream of light coming from Colette's room. Curiosity took over as he quietly walked to the end of the stares and bent his body to catch a peak.
There it was.
Colette sat there and continued to stare into Alphonse's eyes as he lent forward and seemed intrigued.
Speaking of her family and the family that she and her parents looked after, Colette bit her lower lip and smiled upon remembering her now former life.
So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
Colette wasnt aware about her dress at that point as she was too entranced in trying to make Alphonse see that she was the right person for the job however what he spoke next made the poor blonde beauty become red in the face.
[i "You are also exposed, please, pull your dress down a bit."]
[b "M-my dress?...."]
Colette raised her eyebrow and tilted her head down and saw that her dress was raised so she placed the dress a little more down before learing her throat.
[b "Je suis désolé, Mr. Capone. Je ne savais pas..."] [i I am so sorry, Mr Capone. I did not realize.] Colette spoke, tilting her head up as she stared deep into Al's eyes, terribly embarressed from what had happened.
This wasnt good.
Her first impression was completely off as now...she had shown off her panties to her Boss.
[i "Please see to it that this sort of indecentsy doesn't happen when you're with my daughter."]
[b "No of course not. I ...I did not realize. I would never...."] she muttered only to witness Alphonse lift himself up from his chair, an action that Colette followed and walked with him towards the room that would be her new bedroom.
It was absolutely incredible.
Porcelian bath with a sink.
Mahogany and oak wood furniture with the finest threads of fabric for the sheets to cover her naked body at night.
[b "Oh my...."] she muttered as she shifted passed Alphonse and wandered around the room, gently touching every single piece of furniture in awe.
[b "This room is more....than generous, Mr Capone. It really is. Thank you...."]
Colette turned and smiled upon Alphonse before biting her lower lip.
It was getting late on that night.
Colette had seen Ada once more and ...had dinner which was lovely and had another somewhat decent conversation with Alphonse but it didnt get anywhere.
She was the employee.
Alphonse wasnt there to make friends.
Retreating to bed, it was standing in the middle of the room that Colette decided that tomorrow with Ada was going to be a special day.
A day filled with music and ...hopefully smiles.
Coming to the seat that rested infront of the dresser that held the beautiful mirror and Colette parked her sweet, young rear on the cushion after removing her dress that rested a single white silk teddy underneth while a single bottle of perfume oil was off to the right.
Sitting up straight, her spine in perfect alignment - Colette raised her hands and slowly took out the pins that were in her hair one at a time until finally, her gorgeous, long blonde locks fell down her back and bounced just slightly.
The bedroom door open just a touch as she wasnt exactly going to bed yet.
Perfume bottle open, just a drop of oil glistened upon her inner wrist and Colette rubbed the two together before bringing it to her nose and smelt the scent.
Closing her eyes, the young girl smiled getting lost in enchantment in her mind unable to believe she was really here - in this beautiful house with a handsome man and an incredible sweet little girl that she was more than honoured to look after.
The male had paid no attention to the womans legs as she lifted her dress slightly, his focus had only been on the matters at hand and so he spoke....
[+purple [b "When I was 10, the family my parents were looking after had a little boy. The boy was somewhat a fascination to me as I had never seen a newborn baby before. His name was Phillipe. He grew up to be allergic to everything. His spine, like your daughters wasn't severed but their was some sort of complications that rendered him bed ridden...."]] Capone stared into brown eyes, listening with such intensity.
[+purple [b "I looked after him because I was the one who could calm him down. When he was 6, I was 16 and for the first time...he walked to me without holding onto his mattress. When he was 7, I took him outside for the first time and his face, Sir was ....euphoric. He had never felt the sun on his skin, never had that fresh air. Never saw birds only heard them and the magnificent thing was, he wasnt allergic."
I cannot promise you that I will make Ava walk again but ....I will promise to try and ..make her a happy girl and make her understand that this accident was a way to show that God loves her and he has something else planned. I really want this job, Mr Capone. I left Phillipe and his family, my family for this adventure..."]]
That was when the woman scotched forward, her dress lifting once more, this time revealing her thigh and a trace of white panties. Clearing his throat Capone began to wonder if she was aware of such indecentsy.
[+purple [b "I was a Governess, Mr Capone. I am young but I know...what I am doing..."]]
Capone leaned against his hand, trying hard to keep his eyes on hers instead of letting them wander to those panties. [b "You are also exposed, please, pull your dress down a bit."]
The words shocked the man, had this been only a few short years ago the site of a woman in such would have drove the man wild. He would have been turned on by such things, he probably would have even grabbed the woman, kissing her passionately before fucking her in ways she had never been fucked. But, he was a different man now. [b "Please see to it that this sort of indecentsy doesn't happen when you're with my daughter."]
He stood and walked to the door, [b "Let me show you to your room."]
He waited for her before leading her up a set of single file stairs ending with a door. It was the room he was going to offer to Chloe to pursue things that she dreamed. But now the room was nothing more than another bedroom. Nothing too elegant, or at least not in his eyes.
Upon opening the door Capone lead her into a large room with flowered wallpaper, a large four post bed made from cherry wood and matching dressers and side tables. In the corner was a large brick fireplace adjacent to a velvet couch and coffee table. It was in a way, it's own private apartment. The room even held a large mirror attatched to a table women used to apply makeup. But aside from all that, the room had a private bath fit for a queen with a large dome tub, porcelain sink and toilet and every perfume under the sun. [b "It's nothing special, but it's yours if you'll have it."]
Standing beside Alphonse, Colette turned her body and rested side by side with a man she hardly knew anything about only that he had a daughter who was injured in some sort of accident.
It was within that moment she spoke on how beautiful and whimsical the little girl was who seemed full of life and full of beans considering her little adventure that left her broken.
[b "That, is one beautiful little girl you have...."]
[i "That she is. Come we have me to matters to discuss...."] Alphonse replied that just left Colette with a raise eyebrow seeing on how somewhat abrupt he was to get straight to the point.
He had every right.
Colette wasnt here to make friends with the male but to hopefully become friends with the daughter and form some sort of bond along with taking care of the house.
Stepping out of the room leaving Ava and the Doctor who continued to stare at the blonde woman, it wasnt long until the male of the house and the Visitor came unto a room that was dark and accentuated wooden furniture.
It was all wooden except for the curtains that were velvet and the chair that was lined in leather with copper buttons and a lamp that was stained glass but beautiful none the less.
[i "Please, have a seat."]
[b "Thank you...."]
Placing folder onto the oak desk, Colette slowly sat her bodacious rear onto the seat and crossed one long leg over the other after hiking up her tight dress just a little to make it easier.
That was when Alphonse sat on the opposite side into the other chair and leant forward, speaking - getting down to the nitty gritty.
[i "I'm sure you have noticed that Ava is unlike most girls her age. We had an... accident... that took the life of her mother and brother as well as severing many bones in her spine thus rendering her practically paralyzed from the waist down. I have already paid for the best spinal surgeons and doctors in all of Paris, but there are none that would stay here for day and night care. That is where you come in."]
[b "I did notice but it is not my place to say. I am terribly sorry for your loss..."]
[i "On top of daily household routines I am looking for someone who will also look after Ava, make sure she is getting plenty of exercise of her legs, make sure she's well kept and above all, insure her happiness. I can't do it all, trust me, I've tried."]
Listening to the older, handsome male that seemed to have alot of skeletons in his closet, Colette just smiled and nodded her head understanding all the words clearly.
[i "Well that's what I need, now tell me Colette, why you? Why did you apply, what do you have to offer? Do you have any parental experience?"]
[b "When I was 10, the family my parents were looking after had a little boy. The boy was somewhat a fascination to me as I had never seen a newborn baby before. His name was Phillipe. He grew up to be allergic to everything. His spine, like your daughters wasnt severed but their was some sort of complicatons that rendered him bed ridden...."] Colette spoke as she stared into Alphonse's eyes as he glanced back in her direction and too ...listened.
[b "I looked after him because I was the one who could calm him down. When he was 6, I was 16 and for the first time...he walked to me without holding onto his mattress. When he was 7, I took him outside for the first time and his face, Sir was ....euphoric. He had never felt the sun on his skin, never had that fresh air. Never saw birds only heard them and the magnificent thing was, he wasnt allergic."]
[b "I cannot promise you that I will make Ava walk again but ....I will promise to try and ..make her a happy girl and make her understand that this accident was a way to show that God loves her and he has something else planned. I really want this job, Mr Capone. I left Phillipe and his family, my family for this adventure..."]
Scootching forward along the chair, her dress somewhat hiked up a little more showing the milky white softness of her thigh as she continued to stare upon Alphonse not caring about this and the slight sight of her white lace panties on show.
[b "I was a Governess, Mr Capone. I am young but I know...what I am doing..."]
The smallest things, such as the presence of his daughter were enough to make the once hardened male soften. Soften to the point that his eyes would relax and his lips would smile.
As soon as the two entered the room Capone watched carefully, protectively, as Colette strayed from his side to approach Ava. He felt himself begin to tense, it wasn't often he let anyone near his daughter ever since the incident. But standing there, watching the way she spoke to her made him feel more at ease.
[+purple [b "You standing there like that, you look like Anna Pavlova. Do you know who that is?...."]]
Ava looked up to her father as though she was unsure if she was to answer the woman. With a smile the young girl looked back to the woman. [+hotpink [b "No.."]]
[+purple [b "Anna Pavlova is a very...very famous and talented Ballerina.."]]
[+hotpink [b "When I grow up, I want to be a Ballerina but my legs aren't good anymore...."]]
Her words were like a knife through Capone's heart. It was his actions alone that had landed the young girl in the predicament that she was in. It was him alone that had taken away her dreams, her mother and the only sibling she had.
[+purple [b "Your legs just need to learn how to walk again. Once you are born, you learn to walk, you practice and you get there. This is just the same thing all over again. Who knows, maybe one day - Anna Pavlova will be sitting down ...watching you dance..."]]
With that the little girl smiled, she smiled a smile Capone hadn't seen in months. It was as though this complete stranger had given him back his vibrant young daughter with only a short and simple conversation.
[+purple [b "That, is one beautiful little girl you have...."]] Colette spoke as she made her way back towards him.
[b "That she is."] He stared upon his daughter for a little while longer before shaking his head back into reality. [b "Come, we have matters to discuss."]
Leading her down the hall, Capone opened the door to his office and stepped inside. [b "Please, have a seat."]
He pointed to one of the leather wing-backed chairs for her to sit before taking his own behind the solid oak desk. [b "I'm sure you have noticed that Ava is unlike most girls her age. We had an... accident... that took the life of her mother and brother as well as severing many bones in her spine thus rendering her practically paralyzed from the waist down. I have already paid for the best spinal surgeons and doctors in all of Paris, but there are none that would stay here for day and night care. That is where you come in."]
Scotching forward he leaned closer to her, resting his elbows on the desk, [b "On top of daily household routines I am looking for someone who will also look after Ava, make sure she is getting plenty of exercise of her legs, make sure she's well kept and above all, insure her happiness. I can't do it all, trust me, I've tried."]
He paused, [b "Well that's what I need, now tell me Colette, why you? Why did you apply, what do you have to offer? Do you have any parental experience?"]
[i “I wish I was your favorite girl, I wish you thought I was the reason you are in the world, I wish I was your favorite smile, I wish the way I dressed was your favorite kind of style”]
Colette continued to remain at the door.
People walked by, men, - women and children. Some on their own and some together.
Paris was beautiful, especuially in the winter as the snow would fall and cover the streets in white powder falling from the heavens.
It was coming soon.
It was a month til winter and that was when all the thick coats and those hats, scarfs and boots would come out of the closet and all those gorgeous dresses would be put away until the next time.
Colette was going to experience the winter with a brand new family to look after and within that moment of her listening to as male's voice on the other side of the door, she smiled as she could not of been happier.
[i "Yes, hello?"]
The voice was intense.
It was ....husky and rough, a little broken and unfixable but it was his own and the moment the door open, Colette stood up tall and poised with that smile still upon those full, pouty lips.
[i "You must be Colette, please, come in. Ava is just this way being seen by her doctor."]
[b "Oui. I am Colette, pleasure to meet you..."] Colette took a step inside of the house and all she did was raise an eyebrow.
The house was incredible and it was beautiful but it needed a woman's touch and it seemed that Alphonse hadnt had that in a long time.
Colette did not know.
Al was not that ...descriptive as too why he needed a new housekeeper to look after the home and his daughter.
Speaking French, it was hard for Colette to speak English but she tried her hardest and it was going well so far.
Having an accent, hopefully Alphonse would understand and Ava..
[i "Uh, let me turn on a light or something."]
[i "Votre maison est très belle."] Colette replied before sighing, biting her lower lip knowing she made a mistake in speaking her language, the blonde beauty corrected herself quickly. [b "Your house is beautiful..."]
Alphonse soon showed Colette upstairs.
He did point out the rooms but there was one room that he wanted his new employee to see.
Opening the door, Colette walked inside only for her big brown eyes to scan her surroundings and it was absolutely breath taking.
It was picture perfect of a little girl's room and looked completely different to the rest of the house.
The room was clean, feminine and had lots of toys around but the one person that caught Colette's eye wasnt the Doctor standing on the sidelines that she greeted but the gorgeous little girl who stood by the bar, holding herself up.
[i "This, is Ava."]
[b "Hello, Ava..."] she muttered softly, shifting away from beside Alphonse and wandered over to the little girl who was out of her wheelchair - both hands grasping the bar to help her stand but all Colette did was kneel down infront of the gorgeous little Princess.
[b "You standing there like that, you look like Anna Pavlova. Do you know who that is?...."]
Ava looked at her Father then back to the blonde lady that Alphonse let inside the house and shook her head. [+red "No..."]
[b "Anna Pavlova is a very...very famous and talented Ballerina.."]
[+red "When I grow up, I want to be a Ballerina but my legs arent good anymore...."]
Colette continued to stare upon the gorgeous girl who looked like Alphonse but more of her Mother..
[b "Your legs just need to learn how to walk again. Once you are born, you learn to walk, you practice and you get there. This is just the same thing all over again. Who knows, maybe one day - Anna Pavlova will be sitting down ...watching you dance..."]
A ilttle glisten in her eyes sparkled as life somewhat came back as Colette gave her a little dream to hang onto.
Standing up slowly, Colette wandered back over to Alphonse and smiled.
[b "That, is one beautiful little girl you have...."]
Capone was watching his daughter, the last air to his family and the last love of his life as she made the few tiny steps towards recovery. He had been more than proud of her while her doctor made no more than a grin. He supposed that it was simply due to the fact that no one could love that little girl as much as he.
About to comment to the Doctor's lack of enthusiasm, Capone was silenced by the sound of the door bell. [b "Do excuse me for a moment."]
[+purple [b " Bonjour, Mr. Capone?..."]] He heard through the wood.
[b "Yes, hello?"] He spoke, opening the large door and looking upon the woman.
She was nothing like Chloe, which was exactly what he had wanted. While Chloe had black hair, this woman had blonde, where Chloe had beautiful green eyes, she had brown. Even the way that she dressed was different the Chloe although she still wore the same red lipstick that he kept a tube of locked away in his bed stand drawer.
[b "You must be Colette, please, come in. Ava is just this way being seen by her doctor."] He stepped to the side allowing the woman to come in. But immediately he became a little shameful. Where his house had once been elegant and wonderful it was now dull and almost colorless. How did one just pickup and keep moving forward when almost his entire world had been pulled from under him like a rug?
As she stepped inside Capone took one final look to the outside world before closing the door shut, the light escaping as he did. [b "Uh, let me turn on a light or something."]
Leading her upstairs into Ava's room it was the only room in the house he had kept maintained. High decadent ceilings, elegant, expensive light fixtures, bright wallpaper and beautifully carved wooden furniture to fill the fluffy carpeted space. Although it had been modified to fit her needs, Ava's room looked like one straight for a magazine, it was a young girls paradise.
[b "This, is Ava."] He smiled, outstretching an arm to the young brunette who had both arms firmly against a bar as she struggle to take small steps.
The doctor, glancing over at the woman simply looked her up and down before looking to Capone, blushing, and turning his attention back on Ava.
Colette Rey was a young woman.
Long blonde hair that was always pinned up due to the fashion in that particular era she and many other lived in.
The only people that saw the beautiful woman with her hair down was men that she was intimate with...which was hardly ever.
The ones that saw the woman with her hair down often spoke on how lovely it was.
It was hardly ever that she was intimate with a man.
Colette lived in Paris with her mother and her father who just happened to be important.
Important people as they were the ones that maintained the house for the rich Family, Colette grew up with.
Colette was considered a Governess but it just so happened that on one sunny day while getting the groceries, the 21 year old woman stopped by a window and looked at a piece of paper that spoke on wanting someone to obtained a household.
Raising her eyebrow, Colette reached up and picked the piece of paper from the window and looked at it, smiling at the phone number.
Within an hour, Colette made the phonecall and she spoke to a man who seemed, a little broken but deep and rustic none the less.
The meeting was set up.
2 days had gone by and on that particular day, she spoke to her mother and her father who were more than happy for their gorgeous girl to go off and venture out into the world.
Colette dressed up nice.
A dark navy blue dress that covered her knees.
White buttons and a white collar with a slit at the back of her dress to make her walk easier due to the dress clinging like a second skin that expressed her curvy body.
Blonde hair up in pins.
Red lips just like Chloe had but instead of green eyes, Colette had big brown ones.
Catching a taxi, biting her lower lip, it was stopping at the address that Colette looked out the window and stared upon the expensive looking townhouse for a moment before paying the Driver the amount of money that was needed and got out with a folio in her hand.
Walking up the stairs in her heels, Colette breathed out and bit her lower lip before placing a finger onto the doorbell and pushed, hearing it ring out.
Colette spoke French but...having a rich family who were English, she learnt the language.
[b " Bonjour, Mr Capone?..."] she spoke outside the door, nervous as all hell.
[b J'ai peut-être porté la mauvaise tenue de cette ...]
[i I may have worn the wrong outfit for this....] she muttered to herself, waiting patiently, smelling like Jasmine from the oil she place behind her ears and the inner wrist.
Capone was too late, as the male fell to the ground there were screams and more shots heard from in the store. His heart skipped a beat as it dropped and sank into his stomach. [b "No"]
Running as fast as his feet would carry him he whipped open the door. It was in the moment that the entire world slowed as though a scene in a movie, Capone's gun shooting at the men and watching as they fell to the ground. Hearing the heart beating in the chest while the rest of the world was quite. Watching the steady steps he takes until finally he reaches the place where his family has been gunned down by the men he had once controlled. Chloe, Ava, and Henry, they all lay lifeless in a pool of red that now began to stain the knees and legs of his suit as he fell to the floor. [b "No...."] He whispered, touching the lifeless body of his son, [b "No no no no"] He continued to repeat over and over and over again until it no longer felt like a word.
How could this happen?
How could he have let this happen?
Grabbing their bodies he slid them until they were laying on him and the tears poured from his eyes. [b "NO!"] He began to scream...
6 Months Later...
[i How does a man who has lost everything stand on his feet once more? How does he look into the eyes of an angel whom has had her wings clipped by his own hand? How does a man keep silent when the skeletons hidden in his closet are rattling their bones?]
[b "Don't give up baby, just take one more step!"] Holding out his hands Capone cheered on his daughter, the last person he had in this world and the only person whom he would move heaven and earth for.
It has been 6 months since the mob gunned down his family in the small convenient store. 6 months since his world was ripped apart, and changed forever. It had been 6 months, but only 2 since he found every last person involved in such affairs, lined them against a wall and gunned them down like the filth they were.
Now it was Ava and Alphonse against the world. She had been the sole survivor of the family and as a result was wheelchair bidden. But that wouldn't stop the infamous Capone from making sure she got the full attention and care she deserved.
[b "She's getting stronger, isn't she?"]
The children continued to rummage through the store looking for those gorgeous little trinkets that made their day when it came to fun.
Turning her head to the side, Chloe watched her children, her beautiful little babies walk around the store playing their little games while choosing what they wanted.
Ava was being a little Princess, a shopping basket in hand, she pretended to be a grown woman shopping for groceries.
Henry on the other hand, was just being a little boy - running around, talking to himself and dancing in spots now and again.
This caused Chloe to smile.
One child was her own flesh and blood but Henry wasnt and quite frankly, she didnt care.
That little boy, was...like Ava the love of her life.
[b "Find something nice, both of you...."]
[+red "Im getting the train..."] Henry spoke softly as his cute little hands reached onto the counter and grabbed the toy, holding it close to his chest while the owner behind the counter smiled at the little boy.
Henry returned the gesture before turning and ran over to Ava showing his present from Mummy and Daddy.
As the kids spoke to one another, Chloe turned her head back to the window and watched Alphonse take those steps forward towards a man who did the same thing and witnessed them speak with their mouths moving but she couldnt hear a single solitary thing, so when the men started to come around from the back, Chloe didnt have time to prepare herself.
With a kick of the door, it swung open and three men entered the room, each man with a mission.
Chloe turned her body around once hearing the sound of the door and it was knowing what was too come, that was the moment Chloe shifted away from the window and rushed towards the children.
[b "Ava!...Henry!...."] she called, grabbing the two gems and held them close to her body as they backed up into a corner, covering themselves with a stand filled with postcards infront to shield them from sight.
[b "Shh my darlings. Dont cry. Mummy loves you. Daddy loves you. Its all going to be okay...."]
With the two little ones behind, Chloe knelt down and shielded the kids but it was too late.
Within moments, the white stand was pulled away showing off the mother and her babies.
The kids screamed.
Chloe tilted her head up and her eyes pleaded with the men to spare the kids and take her, but it wasnt meant to be.
Within seconds, the men pulled out the guns from inside of their coats.
[b "No please. No.....Not them, take me..."]
[+green "We plan on it..."]
Screams were filled throughout the Store.
Screams of Chloe's and Alphonse's children scared out of their wits end.
Shots were fired.
The deadly sound of the ring was carried out in the Store and Chloe was hit multiple times.
In the head.
In the chest and stomach.
Several more shots were fired and hit Henry who instantly fell into a deep sleep like his Mother as he held the toy train. Both grew wings and found heaven.
Ava on the other hand, was asleep, badly hurt but ...still alive, clutching onto the teddy bear that was now stained with her blood, her mothers blood and her Brother's.
Capone was growing even angrier with every moment that passed. He had never been fond of the male, but now, the way he threatened his family? Alphonse knew only one thing, one of them would need to die.... now.
With twitching hand, Capone let his eyes wander on the male and glimpse to the car. He had come alone. That could only mean that either he came packed or with a little too much dry confidence. Capone was trained for this, he was bred for it. He had began this lifestyle under the firm hand of Frankie Yale, Gallucio would be nothing more than child like in a one on one fight.
[+green [b "I can practically hear you plotting Al, I can hear everything you are thinking. You have this, this, idea..."]] He raised one sausage like finger to his head, pointing and waving it about, [+green [b "You seem to think that you're better than me. I guess in some ways, you're right. But you've been gone a long while Capone. You no longer know about the ways of this life. You don't know what I know."]]
Raising a brow he looked straight into the eyes of the man, [b "It is you that is wrong Frank. One of us will die here, I'm not wrong on that. But do not be mistaken, it will not be me."]
[+green [b "You always were hard headed weren't you?"]]
[b "You could say that."] Taking a step forward, Gallucio followed suit. Their eyes never leaving one another until they were standing toe to toe with one another...
That was when the man laughed.
[+green [b "So old, yet still so naïve."]]
Confused Capone only pulled together his brows.
[+green [b "You spent so much time worrying about me, you never noticed my men that just entered the store you thought would be safe."]]
Disbelieving, Capone turned his head towards the store only to be smacked hard in the back of the head with an object he could only imagine was a gun. Although it was hard enough to draw blood, Capone did not drop to his knees. Instead he merely turned to Frank, grabbing the small of his neck, ignoring the gun that was waving in his face, and squeezing the life from him.
So hard in fact that three shots were aimlessly fired from the hand as it drew limp.
